I’m pretty sure this place is closed down. The phone is even disconnected.

Let me start off by saying that my husband eats here on his lunch break EVERYDAY!!! It’s unbelievable lol but he loves this place so much he has bought it for me, my mom, his mom, OURENTIREFAMILY and I must say that Tambour Café is AMAZING. It’s very difficult to find a Haitian/Caribbean restaurant that also caters to healthy eating. You can have them grill or bake your entrée instead of frying it and we love them for that. I just wish they’d add more turkey when I order baked turkey but we’re still loyal customers :) Their customer service is great as well. A must try.

My toughest review yet… I’ll start by saying the food is great, cooked very well. However, with a menu of nine items they had three.

It took forty five minutes to get my food! I don’t understand why the food would take so long if the rice and macaroni are already made. Griot should take 10 – 15 minutes to fry in a deep fryer. Since I was only on an hour break I had to rush to get back to my office. I am disappointed because I really wanted to like this place.

My first experience at Tambour Café was very impressive. The young lady who greeted us was very pleasant when we came to pick up our order. She was very helpful in answering our questions and we were even more pleased to know they open till 2am on the weekends! For a Haitian restaurant this alone sold me! So many nights I find myself thinking that a good griot would be perfect around 11pm-midnight… Food was very good! The pâté kode is on point!!! And when I asked for an extra cup of pikliz they did not charge me extra unlike the other Haitian restaurant in that area. The atmosphere is ok. As a proud Haitian I’d love to see some more vibrant colors and some Haitian décor to complement the service and good food this restaurant is offering. Definitely would recommend some more lighting inside to the owners. Very important. I’ve heard from friends who went to dine in that they’ve had a great experience as well. Looking forward to making this my new Haitian spot!

My second visit and I’m ready to review. They are a relatively new restaurant and are still developing their menu and creating a stronger ambiance but they are definitely open for business and ready to serve. I’ve seen lots of photos of the nightlife entertainment they offer and think its a wonderful addition to Boynton Beach’s Caribbean party scene. Since I haven’t been for the nightlife yet, I’ll tell you more about the food! I ordered the legume(which is a beef veggie stew) served generally over white rice and beans – although you can substitute the white rice for the popular rice and beans dish, which is what I did.($ 8) I also ordered a side of their pâté kode($ 3) which is a Haitian patty that has been fried and filled with your pick of protein. Enjoy a complimentary plate of fresh bread while you wait for your order!
