Taco Del Mar

Yeah to say the food from the drive thru place attached onto the Shell station surprised me is an understatement. I live on the north side of town and when I don’t feel like running into Puerto this is where we get our comida mexicano on. Better than making a run for the border, but not quite qdoba. The large nacho will feed 2 or 6 people. Tacos anyway you want them, I usually pick the fish as the meat in my taco and it’s great. If fish isn’t your thing there is beef and chicken and pork choices. If you are tired of making a run for the border, give this place a go… if anything it’s better than the McDonald’s next door.

I can not believe people are giving this place more than 1 star! We are traveling down 65 and didn’t want typical fast food. I read the reviews and wanted to give it a shot. First off, the lady that made our food had the personality of a paper clip. She was not helpful when I asked for suggestions or what was most popular. The portion of meat is a JOKE. I was shocked at how little. Seriously, like two bites of meat. They are stingy with EVERYTHING. The salsa, the pico, the beans. Total waste of $ 12. I really wish I would have just wasted $ 6 at Wendy’s.

4 star for fast food. Quite a surprise and if it wasn’t for Unilocal I would have been at a chain burger place across the street. $ 2 taco on either a crisp or soft corn tortilla or soft flour one. Marinated chicken was what I picked but there was pork, beef (shredded or ground). Servers were positive and helpful. Yep– quick and convenient as well.

I ordered a bean and cheese burrito for my daughter and a beef and cheese taco for myself. Both were super delicious! we were just passing through after being at the corvette museum. Wanted some lunch before heading back to Louisville. I was really surprised by this little gem. We weren’t going to stop here for anything other than gas. But my daughter wanted to check out the Palm tree outside. After that we decided «why not?» This place is also reasonably priced. Better quality than taco bell aks the only fast food I eat. I’d stop again if I ever tread through bowling green again.
Only thing weird was the employee taking my order. He was creepy and just smiled at me creepily the whole time. Made me uncomfortable. The manager straightened him out though :) no stars away for that one.

Surprisingly good food ! Adjacent to 65, and the National Corvette Museum.
I had a taco salad… Pretty good, especially with the free chips and salsa. The Loaded Nachos, mondito style was delicious. The free kids meal with the purchase of a entre metal was a bonus!

Da bomb? Da dump! Very sad fish stick tacos, give me a break. So wife goes to order and wanted fish tacos, ordered baha fish tacos, corn tortillas? No only flour, then the lady says, «ma’am it is just like subway», except subway is Edible… So this adventure at taco del mar is just that an adventure that I will not repeat.

I lived in Seattle for 14 years and ate at Taco Del Mar every week, so I am a big fan. This location is just not up to par. The shift manager made the food and did not even seem to know what came with a combo or what to put on fish tacos and the person at the register did not have our order right after four tries and a manager coming over to void everything each time. This for a simple order: two adult combos and two kids meals. I was excited seeing a Taco Del Mar on this road trip, but we won’t be back.

Excellent prices and service. Similar to a Mexican subway. Food prepared fresh as you like. Dailey specials. I had mondo nachos and 20 oz. drink for $ 6. Will return if I’m back in the area.

Ok This place is Da Bomb! A group of friends and I stubbled across this little Gem while traveling. The food and service was great! I will stop in again if I’m ever back in that area.
