I would hate to have to pick a favorite. Shrimp and grits were awesome, the caramel pecan rolls melt in your mouth. Love the fried chicken!

The people are very sweet, but the food was not very good. I had soup and grilled cheese panini and the cheese was still cold when I got it. Not sure how you can mess up a grilled cheese. I won’t be going back. It’s also very small and better for carry out.

Had breakfast there this morning and it was great and the portions were huge. I will be a regular from now on.

If you’re looking for food in Bowling Green, KJo’s is a must, even if it means eating your takeout in the car. We stopped at KJo’s on the drive from DC to Norfolk. It was WONDERFUL! Super-charming interior, super-friendly staff, absolutely beautiful pastries. The day’s fare was fried chicken, grit sticks, potato wedges, and biscuits.(Check their Facebook page to see what they’re serving.) We also succumbed to the cinnamon roll and the peanut butter brownie. All the food was very good, but the bread items were excellent — the biscuit and cinnamon roll are among the best I’ve ever eaten. They also make specialty coffeehouse drinks: they whipped up a delicious vanilla cream soda for me and an iced coffee for my hubby.

About a 1 – 1.5: YIKES! The hubs and I were passing through Bowling Green, and I had heard about KJo’s to Go as a great place to pick from their a la carte ‘buffet’ and for their sweets. The place itself is very cute — with the pink walls and such in a very café-like setting. If you check out their FB page, it lists the items that they have for the day(for the a la carte), so keep that in mind — when I went, they had shrimp and grits, blueberries & cream French toast bake, grits soufflé with eggs/cheese/bacon, fried porkchops, bacon, sausage, hash with steak/bacon/onions/peppers, spinach/bacon/Parmesan frittata, scrambled eggs, biscuits, sausage gravy, and sauteed vegetables/onions/peppers. It was stated that however much you can fill in the styrofoam box, it would be $ 5.50, which seemed pretty fair. However, when I was pointing out some of the selections, the employee stated that I would need to start another box, even though there was still plenty of room in it. The guy said something about the gravy for the biscuit touching the items(which I stated I didn’t mind), but insisted in that it just wouldn’t fit. I was a little annoyed — I asked if I could get the biscuit and the gravy as an addition, but not to start a whole new $ 5.50 box; he responded no. The husband of the owner, Jack, stepped in and stated if it was just possible for me to just pay for the biscuit and the gravy separately(which was my initial question), and that was agreed. I ended up selecting the shrimp and grits(the shrimp was extremely weird, as it did not taste anything remotely close to a shrimp, but more like cake — very odd!), blueberries & cream French toast bake(this kind of reminded me of a bread pudding made with chunks of croissants, but was bland), grits soufflé with eggs, cheese, and bacon(definitely egg-focused, but hardly any taste of the cheese and the bacon), a fried porkchop(thin, on the soggy end, and very salty), biscuit and sausage gravy(the biscuit was on the drier side, and the sausage gravy was pretty okay, with chunks of sausage throughout), and the scrambled vegetables, onions, and peppers(I found this, too, extremely bland). I also tried some of their sweets, such as the cupcake(filled with carrots and such — this definitely tasted ‘healthy’ with all the veggies/nuts within), topped with an organic edible flower, a champagne cupcake(more on the sweeter side, the cake itself was fluffy), and a cinnamon roll(it looked great, but it had a funny aftertaste to it). All looked really delicious, and I was pretty excited to try them out, but was pretty disappointed in the flavors. Jack was extremely personable and lovely, and I just wished we had enjoyed this place so much more — however, it just wasn’t the case. I’m glad I got to try KJo’s out, but will not return. +à la carte $ 5.50 box is deceiving(not self-serve) T______T +à la carte menu items updated daily on their FB page +ask for Jack: D +limited seating within; mostly carry-out

Super glad that KJo’s opened up in this little town. I love places where the staff just makes it a great experience and this is one of those places. The food too is well worth stopping in for… be it grits soufflé for breakfast, fried chicken and mashed potatoes on Fried Fridays, Korean or Asian, and even great pastries and tasty milkshakes… this place has a little bit of everything to offer! I agree with another review, best way to see what they have to offer for the day, find them on Facebook! Looking forward to see what other great meals they prepare and other items they offer in the future.

Cute little shop that has the best goodies! I work in bowling Green and come to Kjos a few times a week for lunch. They have great ethnic foods certain days of the week then will have good southern home cooking the next. Inexpensive and as always pleasing. Kjo herself, along with her sons Chad and Jamie are always smiling and are the nicest people. They always remember who you are and what you like and don’t like. Stop by on a Saturday if you can as their breakfasts are amazing!

Love the variety, love that they change everything up. One day its korean food the next its fried chicken like your mother made. I normally try and give a recommendation, but due to the way these guys change things up I’d just say go in and ask them what they would get. Always friendly and always good for a conversation.

Love, love, love K Jo’s. The best way to find out what K Jo is having for lunch is to check with Facebook a little after 10AM. They always post their daily meal options. Each week K Jo usually has an Asian day, and a Fried Friday. Other options include Thanksgiving dinner, which she usually makes at least once or twice a month. Breakfast is GREAT too. K Jo’s cinnamon rolls are heavenly! The prices are reasonable too! Service is super friendly! K Jo also has assorted pies, muffins, cupcakes, pastries, pasta salads, chicken salads, etc to choose from.

KJo’s has been frequently described to me as a «deli», but KJo’s can only really be described as… KJo’s. A little bit bakery, little bit deli, and little bit take-out diner, this location has become an adorable commodity on Main Street that has quickly made a huge splash in the community. On weekdays you can purchase a large plate of food for little more than a $ 5 bill and pick up some cinnamon buns or a chilled broccoli salad for just a few dollars more. If you want to eat in, there are 3 – 4 bistro styled tables for couples or small parties to sit. The staff is extremely friendly and more than excited to hold a conversation. Their beverages include teas, coffees, and other standard options. Stick around for a meal and you won’t be disappointed. My only complaint is that their hours are such on weekdays that by the time I get home from worm, they are closed. If they stayed open unt 4pm, I would likely make efforts to get off work early on special occasions just to pick up sweets for my wife. For that, I would take off half a star, but just to help this fledgling business… 5 stars.

KJo’s to Go has created a great niche for itself. Everything is fresh and delicious — from the awesome breakfast frittatas, pastries and doughnuts, to the variety of gourmet salads for lunch, like the chicken Waldorf salad, to the hot lunch specials that change daily. Kathy Heidenescher and her family are right there with a friendly greeting making sure that everything is top notch.

Excellent new addition to Bowling Green dining. Stopped by with my wife and enjoyed the wonderful selection of breakfast including home made cinnamon rolls and the biscuits and gravy was very good. There is room for improvement but since they have just opened I will rate 4.5 stars and look forward to seeing them grow. THEFOODISAWESOME.
