Crab Galley of Bowie

I tried this place today after driving by it forever. I had the cream of crab soup and the crab cake. They were both delicious! The employees were very nice and my food came out pretty fast. I will be returning to try their fried shrimp.

Today I tried the Crab Cake with French fries and Hush Puppies, the puppies were decent, the fries tasted like fries from a bag that you get from a corner store. My Crab Cake was just okay and not as fabulous as I had hoped. But the cost was in line with the taste I guess. Not sure I’ll be eating here again unless I lose my ATM card. I’m a true foodie and quality and taste means more to me than cost.

Ordered ½ doz large, got them home… Popping hit, delicious, and pretty heavy. The flavor, SO GOOD !!!
Would have given 5 stars but they were not as big as I usually get from them but they did throw in an extra one !!
Love this little Bowie Crab joint and the guys that work they are so nice and friendly! See ya next time !

I would’ve given more stars however I was EXTREMELY disappointed that I ordered the crab cake sandwich. Please let me know if I’m wrong, but I threw it away because all I kept tasting were shells! How in the world can anyone enjoy a crab cake sandwich when there are tons of crab shells in it. I took three bites and just threw it away. Too bad I was already on my way home back to Virginia, otherwise I would’ve turned around. The staff was pleasant and nice.

Crab Galley several years ago was good, a hidden gem. The Crab Galley of today is a dump! The inside is dirty. The place looks shifty. I wouldn’t trust the integrity of the seafood. The staff aren’t the most hospitable nor are they very presentable for a food establishment. You come in and wait for some to come from the back. They make you feel as if you are a bother. And their prices are insane! More like crab ghetto!

The staff here are great! Every time I come in there is always a conversation about what ever. The food has always tasted fresh. Crab soup is awesome, crab/​salmon cakes are both great! Prices are perfect too. If they delivered they would get 5 stars. If your in the area this place will not disappoint.

Pretty much everything they serve taste good and fresh. I always get regular female crabs and the staff is always honest about the quality of their crabs.

Expensive especially in any holiday. Crabs are small even though they show you a larger size alive. I’ll take the drive to Shoreline!

We have been going to Crab Galley since it opened. I would much rather get their crabs than to go anywhere else. They are generous and priced right and they season them very well. I highly recommend them!

Lucked up on this spot searching for my husband a barbershop and what a treat! If seafood hits the spot for you then Crab Galley is your new favorite! The staff is knowledgable and enjoyed all the questions about menu items as if it was the first time they heard either one of them lol!
The sweet young lady at the counter recommended several items including very healthy tastes of their signature Shrimp Salad, which is the BEST I’ve ever had
I highly suggest you visit as often as you can, I sure will be!!!

My hubby ordered a doz. crabs on Sunday – given 30 time frame. He got there in 30 mins and walked in to approx. 10 other people waiting and complaining that the wait time was ridiculous. Apparently the crowd alread there had been waiting for more than the quoted time during their order.
My love check with the staff to see how long his order would be and they say soon (no time frame given.) Huh? Are you serious?
He decided to wait in his truck in front of the building. He got out every 10mins to check but he noticed no one was walking out (hence orders still not fulfilled). My love waited the 30mins (driving to CG) and another 60 mins in his truck for the crabs he ordered.
Crabs were great but my hubby’s attitude was not. (He has way more patience than me and the other people waiting.)
The guy working the counter said they were short staff and that was the reason for the back-​up. My response is give realistic time frames to customers – period if you want them to return.

Crab cakes are no bueno.
Scallops were yummy. Not over done and well seasoned.
Hushpuppies… I don’t really like hush pups but I thought that there would be something special about them since they have such great reviews… and nothing special.

Found the Crab Gallery on Unilocal so I figured I’d give it a shot. I got there and was amazed at what all they offer for such a small place. I settled on the
Chicken Fingers and seasoned old bay fries. $ 12
Large Order of Hushpuppies $ 7
Jumbo Crab Cakes $ 28
Jumbo Crabs $ 53 for a half dozen But they were big and meaty

Jumbo Crabs were right on point, especially for the price.
All in all, I had a pretty good experience. Definitely spent more than I planned on. Give it a shot if your in the area. I drove all the way from DC during rush hour!

This is our go-​to place for crabs. Great service, reasonable prices, fresh meaty crabs. We go in, give our take-​out order and are out in about 30 minutes. No muss, no fuss.

Definitely a walk up counter, order your food and wait a while type of place. Compared to a restaurant, your food will be much cheaper here. But the quality is not at the top of the scale. It was good but nothing to rave about. Doubtful I’ll come back, mostly because of the wait, not necessarily the food.

When I initially found the Crab Galley, I thought that it was great because I could get seafood so close to home. They had good food and decent prices. Lately I’ve noticed how much the customer services SUCKS! Whoever the young Caucasian lady is that works there needs to find another job. Customer service is not her thing! The last time we bought crab legs, we were definitely cheated. We got half the amount we normally do and the crab legs we covered with thick chunks of ice! When we went back in to buy more, she refused to sell it to us and it was not closing time yet. Even though that pissed us off, we still went back one more time and her entire demeanor, the way she looks like it pains her to take your order, is so off putting. I think I’ve spent my last dollar at the Crab Galley.

HORRIBLE customer service!!! I frequently purchased crabs from Crab Galley and by frequently I mean at least once a week. While I tend to order from the Odenton location if I am in Bowie I will stop there, however, after my experience yesterday I will no longer patronize this business. I called in my normal order of steamed crabs with no old bay. I arrived and proceeded to pay for my order and then checked the bag to make sure they did not add any seasoning. I opened the bag to dried out crabs which looked to have been steamed either too long or several times. Needless to say I was not pleased and asked if I could get some fresh crabs. The girl at the counter mentioned it would be another 20 – 30 minutes for an order which I was fine with and that she would check with her manager. The guy behind the counter (said his name was Steve) had an attitude and said the crabs where fine and he WAS NOT making another order and that his manager said he’s not making another order. At that point, while confused, considering the customer is always right especially when they are buying a product, I simply said OK and left. I gladly took my business elsewhere (thank you Casey’s Crab Co.) where customer service is demonstrated. I will NEVER go back or recommend Crab Galley based on this experience.

Food, service and price is poor! The owner is not very nice. I’ll spend my money somewhere else. Don’t waste your time or money.

I always get the shrimp and crab leg combo. They must give us some extra because it’s a lot of seafood! Go on the website and they have coupons.
Oh yeah, I agree with everyone… they have the best hush puppies!
