Not crazy about Bowie florist. Over the years have had a few things ordered from them and felt it was not up to par. One for a wedding — one for a funeral. There are better quality florists in town if you want something that is gorgeous.

I ordered a corsage for my grandson and an arm corsage for his date. When my husband picked up the order, the color was red instead of burgundy, which I requested. When I called back to inquire, I spoke with a very sweet young girl that said she was sorry and checked to see if they had burgundy roses. She said they did. I asked why they did not give me the color I requested, since they had them. She did not know, so when I asked to speak to the Manager, The Manager told her, she did not have time to talk with me. The young girl was trying in every way to appease me. She said if I came back to the shop, she would redo the order. That wouldn’t work, it was the night of the prom and there was not enough time to get back by there. However, I thought it was very poor customer service for the Manager to decline to speak to a customer. Not only that, the flowers for both the corsage and arm corsage were so small, I had to go by another florist to get roses to add to them so they would not look so cheezy. I will never do business with Bowie florist again. If you do… beware, go by and see for yourself what you’re getting. Disappointed and no apology given nor needed at this point. I give them a 2 only because the order was ready when requested and the person I spoke with was very nice.

Awhile ago, I switched from another local florist to Bowie Florist… and I’m glad I did. I’ve stuck with them because: I always have pleasant interactions with people on the phone, I can have a nice bouquet ordered within my budget, and there’s prompt delivery. Perfect!

The flowers that my husband had delivered to our house for our anniversary were wonderful. They were fresh for more than a week. Bowie Florist is a family owned & run company. They are still trying to recover from a fire several years ago that had them closed for many months. Remember to shop LOCAL.

Very rude — my husband ordered through their website for valentine’s day but the flowers never arrived. They sent him a confirmation email and everything that said«Your flowers will be delivered on 2⁄14.» It got late in the day and the flowers still hadn’t arrived to me. He called several times only to get voicemail and a message saying the voicemail box was full. Today he called to follow up and they said the email is NOT confirmation and they only take orders by phone. To top it off, the ladies were very rude about it and offered no apologies. Not very reliable.

I just called the number and this placed closed over the summer due to a fire!!! It isn’t even open anymore. The number gets routed to a 24 hour service center where a person tells you that the place is closed. WOW!

You wouldn’t go to a deli and ask for steak but be happy when the butcher gives you chicken instead, so why should you order flowers from a florist who may or may not deliver what you actually picked? Not everyone does this, but it’s happened more than once that I have ordered flowers online for someone, and the actual bouquet received looked nothing like the picture online. Not cool. This is why I like Bowie Florist. When you order from their site, you see a picture of a bouquet you like, you add it to your cart, and that’s what your lucky recipient will get. I live in San Francisco now, but I was able to order Valentine’s flowers for my grandmother today with no problem. I picked the date of delivery(Feb 14 is still available, in case you were wondering), and included a message. Prom corsages, birthday flowers, just-because-I-need-a-pick-me-up flowers. Whatever the occasion, I always used Bowie Florist growing up in Maryland for great arrangement, and since they have a website, I can still take my business here, even when I’m on the other side of the country. BTW: All of the address and contact info Unilocal has for this place is wrong(I sent them feedback and tried to change it myself, so I’m sure they’ll get on it soon enough).
