Boulder Orthotics

Bob is a orthotic artist. Before I found Boulder Orthotics I spent a fortune on orthotics that don’t work or last. He knows his stuff. He’s caring and friendly.
It was a pleasure doing business with him.

I happened to stop by Neptune when Bob Egeland (owner of Boulder Orthotics) was offering free consultations. I have been having problems with the sesamoid bones on the bottom of my right foot for a year now, and with climbing season ramping up things were getting worse. Not wanting to ruin my custom orthotics I had hacked together an insole from a $ 35 pair of inserts to take the pressure off the bones, which I showed to Bob. He ground down my jagged cuts and made a slight modification to make it more ergonomic (gratis). Bob looked at my shape of my foot and noted how the geometry predisposed me to this problem. In addition, he recommended models of running and approach shoes that would best relieve the pain and showed me a stretching exercise for my calf.
After having already spent $ 500+ at the podiatrist on appointments and EPAT treatments with no improvement or useful suggestions, these practical recommendations were a welcome change. Bob has decades of experience as a boot fitter, so I know where to go if I need an orthotics upgrade or boot fitting down the line.
