The food here is amazing and the owners youngest son that works at the cash register is so cute 10 out of 10. The food is amazing and extremely affordable. Best teriyaki I have ever had. I love the way the flavors explode in my mouth. It is a truly different experience. Of I could eat any good for the rest of my life it would definitely be Ukawa Teriyaki. Best teriyaki in the Mill Creek/Bothell area by far. Orange chicken is a must have. However, the cute youngest son recommended the spicy chicken teriyaki which was hot and delicious just like my freshman crush.

This is a great place. the cook and the cashier are so sweet. The food is great teriyaki. I absolutely love the gyoza. There prices are much better than comparable teriyaki places in the area. The amount of food you get is great… Buy one meal and you have left overs for the next day! I read the negative reviews and I don’t really agree with their bad customer service. I mean, they are ethnic and I don’t think their English is that great… Maybe my expectations are more realistic. I’m not there for a date and conversation. They always seem nice to me though!

Food is 5 stars. Service is 1 star. It’s plenty fast, but almost uncomfortable. Feels like you are inconveniencing them by purchasing food from them. I go at least weekly, usually for pick up, always tip well, and never get as much as a smile or hello. I get it, nobody likes working long hours, but try harder and be appreciative of your clients.

The food there is very good however the service is terrible! The person behind the counter did not say hello did not ask what I wanted did not give me a pen to sign my receipt and did not say thank you when we picked up our food. It is unfortunate that good food has to be paired with such horrible service… then on top of that they didn’t include any salad… ugh do not go here unless you like being treated like a disturbance

My family and I used to be regulars at this local restaurant, but after repeated disservice to us and other customers, I will not spend my money there. The final straw came when we took grandpa to our once favorite place only to be embarrassed; we ordered the spicy beef only to receive the regular version; when we asked for a change, they viamitely told us we had ordered wrong; after a bit, they made another dish but when they came to the table with it, they made us pay the extra .40 cents for it! She stood there and waited while we stopped eating, pull out our wallets and find .40 cents. Ridiculous service. I’m surprised they’re still in business with their version of customer service.

I called in an order. They never asked me if it was for here or to go. They put it in a to go box which is standard. I was not allowed to eat the to go box in the completely empty restaurant. Not one customer in there. I had to eat in my car. ONESTAR

This place just kicked me out because I tried to eat a togo order at a table. I work so I try to be efficient with my lunch hour. I order ahead so I can sit and relax… No warning, no nothing, just told me to leave. Been coming here off and on for years but I will not be coming back after that.

Great little teriyaki place. Really fast service and the best teriyaki, orange chicken, and fried rice I’ve had out in a long while. All in all, it was everything you’d expect from a teriyaki place but a little bit better in almost every way which made the overall experience an unexpectedly great one. Orange chicken was brilliant and a little on the sweet side. Chicken and pork teriyaki were excellent and had a delicious grilled taste. Fried rice was also great. Pretty typical mix including peas, carrots, and corn. Nicely done though and not excessively oily which was a pleasant change from most of the fried rice I’ve eaten out. Even the standard iceberg lettuce salad was good and came with a decent dressing. On the downside we weren’t given a choice of dressings and it didn’t come on the side which some might prefer. The décor was pretty standard«teriyaki place» in terms of style, but much nicer and cleaner. Service was super fast but nothing special beyond that. We had our 16mo old daughter and weren’t offered a child seat which I might expect when walking in with a toddler. We noticed they did have the high chair seat available against the wall just behind the counter so we grabbed it ourselves. They also have some weird rules posted including one that prohibits you from eating there if you get a meal to go(they still happily gave us styrofoam containers for our leftovers). Then there’s the display of little sauce containers available for purchase which seemed out of place. Is a little sauce such a big deal? Regardless, for fast and polite service I can overlook a few quirks and none of them detracted from our experience in any significant way. In fact, we initially ate there yesterday but couldn’t help stopping back in today for a second helping of fried rice and orange chicken to go. Getting there is a little confusing because its tough to know which turn to take. Keep in mind that the parking lot is all connected, so turning before or after it works. If you end up turning in next to the Twisted Lime you’ll have to drive around to the other side.

Their spicy garlic chicken is good and my boyfriend hates salad so it’s nice to get extra rice for free instead.

Delicious, affordable and not too greasy! We order from here often and have never been disappointed! The gyoza is my favorite around here! Not sure what brand they use or if they are in fact home-made but i’m a fan! Teriyaki sauce delicious too. Only thing I don’t like is their gyoza sauce! Super spicy and vinegary. Also note, prices have gone up about .50 — .75 cents from the posted pics of menu on here!

Love this place! Teriyaki chicken and Gyoza is my go-to dish but the General Tso’s chicken is great too.

5 stars in 4 out of 5 ways that I rate a restaurant. Whenever I’m in Mill Creek and want teriyaki, I’m going here and nowhere else. Here’s why. I came in for lunch, totally blind to what U-Kawa is about, no referrals from anyone and hadn’t read any Unilocal reviews. I simply stopped in here because it was close to my parents’ home that I was going to visit later that day and looked decent from the outside. When I stepped inside, I was struck by how clean and simple the décor is. In spite of the cheesy 1980’s art on the walls, the very well taken care of restaurant with clean, neat tables and chairs, a spotless floor, clean counter, no cheesy or handwritten notes taped to the wall like so many teriyaki joints, and the soothing pop music playing all were welcoming and relaxing. No one else was there when I walked in. I ordered beef and chicken teriyaki at a reasonable $ 8. It was brought out to me shortly and the portion was really big. I will remember to not get two proteins next time. It came with two scoops of white rice and the mandatory salad. The dressing was good and light, and the rice was freshly made. The chicken and beef were outstanding with a good grill, and the teriyaki sauce was just enough with a great bite to it. They charge a bit extra if you want fried rice or brown rice. I saw they have sushi and also a lot of bottled beverages to choose from too. A few people came in shortly for lunch. A few minutes later, a woman came in, bringing with her an elderly gentleman that appeared disoriented. She talked to the husband and wife team working at the counter. The woman talked to the gentleman in Korean and started making some phone calls for him. She motioned for him that it was ok for him to take a seat. A few minutes later, her husband came out with a meal for him and he was giving it to him as a gift. There was pure kindness in this exchange, no pride and no expectation for money or recognition. The gentleman was very grateful and obviously really hungry as he dived into his meal. I was really touched and choked down the remaining portion of my lunch while fighting back tears. When I was done, I approached the gal working and thanked her and her husband for being so kind. I offered to give the elderly man a ride if he needed one, and she told me he was OK, someone was coming to pick him up. She explained he was really sad and wanted to go back to Korea. I asked if there was anything I could do, and she said it was taken care of. I thanked her for being an example to me of helping someone and wished them the best. Eat here. These are the best kind of people and the kind of small business that is to be supported. Getting to this restaurant is tricky. Drive around the back of the strip mall to get to it. Bad customer service and quality. I had asked for hot sauce since I ordered food for a few guys that lady told me sauce is for when you eat there, I did not have cash on me I can’t believe she didn’t give me hot sauce for free, I ended up looking for extra change to buy an extra sauce? I never going back. Plus the chicken was old and extra salted. Bad experience.

Best egg rolls I’ve ever had. The fried rice is tops. And then There’s the orange chicken which is fresh every time I’ve been there, and that’s a lot. The teriyaki chicken is delicious too. Highly recommend this place.

U kawa is the most consistent teriyaki joint in three crucial locations. Price, taste and speed. Their orange chicken and General Tao’s chicken are amazing. If you like greens you can ask for half rice and they will give you a nice portion of tasty leafy salad.

First time going today with the family and we were pleasantly surprised by this neighborhood eatery. This place is your basic teriyaki fare… but solid. So many teriyaki places around the sound, but this on seems to have a solid base of quality. Everything is about the same quality, which is good overall… even the salad and rice was good. Chicken teriyaki portions were huge! Plentiful all around. Sauces are tasty. Not overly greasy. Priced right for what you get. I wish they had some California Roll. Easy to do and it would up their game a bit. Would have given them 5 stars but the vibe is completely flat. No personality whatsoever.

This place is the most reliably sound teriyaki store I know. Every time I come, I get the general chicken and the sauce they use is the best general sauce I’ve had.
