First things first Zach is amazing!!! I’ve never had a bartender that was more attentive. The food here is bomb and the energy is so cool! Picture this … Amy Winehouse playing, great energy and strong drinks. Whatever West End Johnnies is doing they need to keep it up. I travel for work and I will be staying at the Onyx hotel just so I can be close to the awesome find. #zachyouareawesome!!!

Came here for Brunch with a small group of friends and enjoyed the music, but was underwhelmed by the food and service. We had a reservation for 2 pm, but came at 1 to enjoy the music which was not a problem as there were seats open in the couch area. However, it was disappointing that we didn’t get seated until close to 2:15 pm despite having a reservation. Our table ordered an assortment of dishes and the only star was the French toast, and even that alone wouldn’t bring me back. All of us who had a poached egg dish including the Benedicts and the Corned Beef Hash has over poached eggs. I do acknowledge the waitress for getting us replacement eggs upon notification of the issue, but it seemed like this was a norm instead of an exception. The dishes were also very light on holindase sauce. There were also a few occasions where we had to wait over 5 minutes to have our waters refilled. All in all subpar food and service. Some of the highlights of the visit included that the hit tea was lose leaf tea. That was very good. In addition the reggae music was a nice addition to the ambiance. It should be noted that the music was rather loud though so if you are planning on having a large group join you, conversation might be difficult. There are also a lot of TVs by the bar, but tables are limited on that side. Overall, I probably will not return as there are many other places for brunch that are much better at a lower cost.

Very poor service. Waited more than two hours to get in and once I did the employees were rude and unresponsive. I probably will not be back soon. My closest friends were refused service once inside for wearing a red Sox hat and a set of Timberland boots. To my opinion management treats it as a boring establishment. Good news though, if you’re priviliged and a degenerate you can skip the line by giving the bouncers $ 25 bucks. Will not go back

My friends and I went here on New Years Eve and it was extremely below average. The tickets were over $ 60 a person which was already ridiculous but we did not get the party that we paid for at all. The food was disgusting and there were very little options, especially if you don’t eat meat. The buffet was gone in under 15 minutes there was not nearly enough food as there should have bee. There also was not enough bartenders on staff and my boyfriend and I had to wait 10+ minutes just to get a drink. They really need to hire more bartenders to serve their customers because waiting that long for a drink is unacceptable. I would not tell anyone to go here to celebrate New Years Eve.

4 of us went for Sunday brunch. There was a crowd to get in at 11 when they opened. We tried to get a reservation but they said there were none available. We got right in and sat at the bar. There were a lot of tables available the whole time we were there(about 2.5 hrs). Sitting at the bar was fine. The bartender Eddie was great! The drinks were amazing! The food was not great at all. No flavor on anything, steak tips, eggs, homefries, nothing! My sister had an omelet and her had no flavor. The band was Amazing! The band and drinks made up for the awful food. I would go again for the band and drinks.

Had their version of huevos rancheros, was excellent, came out of the kitchen very quickly. Cocktails were great. Not to mention the live reggae band for Sunday brunch with the Pats game on in the background. Definitely coming back here.

Went here after work for a drink. This was the first time I’ve been here on a weeknight. The place was pretty dead — I’m surprised there wasn’t a bigger after work crowd. Tried the molasses chicken wings and truffle fries. Both were good choices — crispy and flavorful. The wings were really messy to eat so they might not be a good decision if you’re on a date or don’t want to worry about the sticky sauce!

Good sports bar to go before heading over to TD, lots of tvs & everyone was happy with their meals from the steak tips to an arugula salad. Four stars because our waitress was outttt to lunchhhh.

Perhaps the best Huevos I have had. Delicious chili and perfectly done eggs. Really good Bloody Mary’s to go along with it. Only negative was the service. Super slow to get our drink order. Another 15 minutes to get the drink. Ordered the spicy honey mustard wings for an app and all the food came out together. Ordered a second round of drinks right after the food order and we did not get them until after we were done eating. The check and pickup also took forever. Food is worth the slow shotty service but would give 10 stars if they would get some good servers there. The live music was great too.

We came here because it was close to our hotel(Onyx). The atmosphere was great. They had a reggae theme band playing that was fun, interactive, and entertaining. The general scene I would describe is young, club-going crowd. We saw an advertisement where you can have breakfast where you partied the night before. Being a couple, in mid-30s, we didn’t quite fit in. The food was priced well, and it was delish! I did order a specialty Bloody Mary that was super spicy, but ended up receiving a normal one. I let the server know, and told her that I’ll just keep this one since it took 10 mins to get this one to me. So why is this review a 3⁄5? Simply put, the service was spotty and amateur at best. I ordered bacon wrapped sea scallops(excellent), however our server forgot to put them in and had to remind her. I also ordered sunny-side up eggs and bacon. It was delish. However, they took my plate away when the diver scallops came and I didn’t get any of my potato tots, which took up half the plate(and very good). We asked to close out tab, which went without issue. However, it took 14 minutes to get our receipt back. Overall: exceptional food, great entertainment. Lackluster service, which unfortunately impacted our server’s tip.

First time being there, it was okay. I went there to celebrate my friends bday. I was excited when she told me that upstairs was club like music and the downstairs was country. I love country! More so than club music. But I was very disappointed when we got there there was no one downstairs, no country music :( I wasn’t gonna let a little thing like that ruin our night. But then I wanted to buy my girls a round of shots, I ordered us 4 pornstars(lol) the bartender had no idea what it was, so my friend pulled up the recipe on her phone, so she attempted to make it, it was the worst shot I’ve ever taken. I feel like if you work at the bar you should know most drinks.

Myself, the wife and another couple went here for drinks before a concert at TD Garden. This reviews is mostly about Pete! Cool atmosphere upstairs but bar was full. We went downstairs, which, like another reviewer stated, smelled a bit damp. But boy oh boy did Pete make everything better and fun and made delicious drinks. Pete was just great: he was cute, funny, attentive and knew his drinks. We will go back because of him. Thanks Pete/Dude!

CONDENSATION… Ew. Down stairs smelled like mildew, and the pipes above were dripping so much water in our drinks and hair. More so worried about the drips in the drinks making us sick. I did give two stars because drinks were served quickly and effectively. Great bar staff and also cover was only $ 5. But to wait in a long line outside in the cold to only get in and see not many people in there was kinda weak. Also floor was so sticky it was hard to move your feet, I have been to many bars and even had fun here, just warning before you stand in a long line expecting more. Thanks for your reply it was Saturday April 25

Definitely has a hipster vibe, which they will definitely say they are not(looks like an industrial sports bar) — Not saying that as a negative, just what it is. Beer is $ 5 – 7 and drinks $ 6 – 12. Sandwiches and entrees are $ 10 – 24. Craft beer is a bit less than expected 12 unique taps and similar amount in bottles. I am surprised they don’t sell PBR or Bud in the can, would strengthen image either as a sports bar or with younger crowd. Bar has two floors with the ground floor having a Dj after 9 and the lower level having a resident Country band as of the writing on Saturdays. Added a point for the service. Attentive and informative by Mike and Diana. Would add a final star if it had either more craft beer or a named Chef with more upscale or one of a kind food options.

I mean it was okay. They need to have more staff ESPECIALLY on a Sunday. With a big party, we called ahead to make reservations and whoever my friend spoke to said that if we come right when they open, which we did, we should be fine knowingly that we had a party of 15. Needless to say we got there and it was packed already plus there was two large parties that we had to wait to finish their meals. Granted we had a big group, okay fine, but to wait three hours was beyond ridiculous. At that point we just decided to wait. The service was bad. We hung around the bar for drinks, which BTW took at least a half hour to get ONE drink. There was Only TWO bartenders until another one came in around noon. The one bartender completely ignored us and the ppl who finally got to sit down. She didn’t even acknowledge them or us. She kept making drinks for the waitresses(sorry I waitressed and that doesn’t mean you get to ignore patrons because it’s «slammed»). To add insult, I overheard her complaining about being hungover. Then around noon another bartender came in and he was moving faster with quicker turnovers! Dear Johnnie –I think you should consider upping your service and hire pleasant and responsible ppl. Well after waiting for THREE hours to eat, this is no joke, you would think they would be considerate and comp one of the meals or give a discount? Nope our waitress was slow and not attentive. BUT the ONLY thing is that is keeping my interest to come back was that my steak and eggs meal was YUMMAZING! And the reggae band was fun and really good! This is Not an ideal place for groups of 10+ for all to sit at one table and if they say they don’t take reservations ask for the manager ! sorry folks I was disappointed!

Very tasty food and delicious drinks. We came with our teenage kids on a Friday night after spending the day at PaxEast. We had a great meal with comfortable ambiance. I wouldn’t suggest bringing little kids here though since its essentially a bar. I compare all pub experiences to Vermont Pub and Brewery… this place is relaxing and comfortable like VPB(but without the brewed beer)…I would definitely come again. We all loved it.

It’s 38 degrees out, there is a steady rain going too. Bouncers fake a demand and create a 500 deep line to get into the bar at 9:40. Fuck you, and fuck this bar. Seriously. Fuck. This. Place. Most pretentious bar in Boston, don’t come there unless you want to spend $ 7 for a miller lite and hang out with 23 year olds. Only reason I waited is that my buddy had a bday here and felt obligated to come and wait.

What a fun night @ West End Johnnies in Boston with Ryan Winslow’s CD release party!!! Lisa and I got to dance not only down stairs for Country night but also upstairs with a DJ mixing some cool trip-hop along with today’s hits. We were able to park right in front of Johnnies(free parking after 8pm) and immediately speak with a hostess. We even got to meet the owner, Johnny himself. Johnny had played for the Red Sox. Many famous autographs at his establishment — cool to see. Even one of JFK. Ryan’s show was wonderful. RW taught everyone his latest Johnny«Cash» anthem line dance. Sound was great!!! Later when Lisa & I wanted to dine we were immediately seated and taken care of by an attentive waitress. The food was very good and no wait whatsoever. As the restaurant turned into its late night dance club, Lisa and I enjoyed the Tunes. When it was time to leave, surprisingly it was quick to get out of town for home. We would recommend West End Johnnies to anyone who likes to eat and dance. Their Sat. Country night and Hip-hop DJ is a perfect combo. We were invited to their Sunday brunch, which I hear is also very good. I’ll make sure to review that!!!

I’d give it zero stars if I could. Two thirds through eating our dinner and I spotted a MOUSE scurrying around the floor. It was still early in the eveningso there weren’t many people there. Our waitress saw me freaking out, came over to see what was going on, when I told her I saw the mouse she sort of denied it, until it went right by again where she couldn’t *not* see it. She«went to go tell the manager,» after she sort of freaked out(seemed like she was scared of mice). The manager strolls over in street clothes, looking like there’s a million other places that he’d rather be, and«assures» me that there’s only one mouse, that they’ve been trying to catch him and just haven’t been able. Right. Because mice only travel alone? I don’t think so, where there’s one visible mice, there’s 20 or more in the wall. We were so utterly disgusted. They«discounted» our ticket(whoopdee freakin’ do, they took about 10 bucks off the $ 50 bill). Food was bland, poorly cooked, and under seasoned. Service was okay, at least in regard to the waitress she did what a waitress should’ve done but didn’t go above or beyond. Oh and my boyfriend ordered a beer on tap that came over warm and with no head… tl;dr version: STAYAWAYTHEYHAVEMICE.
