Pretty good food. Steak was very good. 5 spice chicken was quite bland but juicy. Lobster salad was great. Excellent cocktails and attentive service. Solid overall, except acoustics are pretty bad. Fix the front door!

I really really like this place. I’ll say I’m more of a fan of their brunch than their dinner but the dinner was still great. I got the pisco punch for my drink and it was sooo good. Super sweet which is just what I like. For brunch I get the breakfast burger and it’s one of my favorites in boston. Here’s the secret: Get the bacon onion compote from the dinner burger on it too, it’s heavenly. It’s more sweet than smoky and goes perfectly with the meat. The burger also comes with tots and a salad(ish) which is great. For dinner I also got the burger, shocker, and I even got extra compote on the side. I heard really great things about the five layer dip my friends got and the duck wings were apparently excellent as well. There were 9 of is and they separated the check(we wrote what to charge on the back of the receipt) and they didn’t include gratuity which is nice.

Came for brunch with boyfriend and parents. Parents got bloodies which they said were good but had too much pepper. I stuck with water. For my meal, I got the flatiron steak and eggs. Delicious. Do us all a favor and get the tator tots. You won’t regret it!

Nice atmosphere. Food was okay. Night out with the adult children for dinner and cocktails. We had fun.

Probably the best customer service I’ve ever had from a waitress. I wish I remembered her name! We had brunch reservations on a Sunday, and I think I fell in love the moment I walked in. The décor was beautiful, and it had a really chill vibe. The food blew me away. From the eggs benedict to the nutella ricotta crepes and the bloody marys, everything was to die for. I had one of those«I’m so full and I need to stop eating, but I cant because it’s so good» moments. The location is super convenient to the heart of Boston. I can’t wait to return the next time im in Boston!

Went here with some friends for Saturday brunch. Ordered the bacon and brie omelette with«homefries,» as did one of my friends. When the food arrived, there was a pile of lettuce, a small omelette, and half a plate of chips. We asked the waitress if we were supposed to get homefries — which we were looking forward to — and she responded that their version is actually a potato chip. Wasn’t planning on eating chips for breakfast… Bloody Mary was decent but lacked garnishes that you’d expect for a brunch in the city! Waitress was sweet but unaware of what was on draft and took 20 minutes to bring a beer menu over. Also asked her for salt and pepper(as there weren’t any shakers on the tables) and she never returned with them. Food was bland but worse without salt and pepper… There are plenty of better places in the city to get brunch. I do not anticipate coming back here again anytime soon unfortunately.

Still excellent! Travis hooked us up with an El Capitan for me and a Marksman for Mon Capitan… both were excellent. Slightly different take on the Marksman but equally excellent. I am a citrus freak so I LOVED the So Capitan. We also tried the duck wings which were re-dunk-u-lous. They were not crispy which was a-ok with me since that kept them perfected cooked. Travis was extremely friendly and a great bartender!

Overpriced. The drinks are good but tiny. I can finish the drip in 5 minutes! It’s probably half the size of regular martinis you get at other places. Very packed at the bar after work but you will probably be able to get a seat for a table– best for parties of 2 people. The service is quick — for the food. Placed an order of the portobello buns and the duck wings they came in about 5 mins. Does that mean they are pre made? Probably. I wouldn’t come back … Unless someone decides to have a celebration at the bar here. The food was mediocre.

What a gem in the area! Great place to grab a drink and some food. The space is very modern and clean, and the bartenders were friendly. I would go back when I’m in Boston.

I have been here twice, once just for drinks and the other for brunch. All of the cocktails I had here were great, and they make an awesome bloody mary!(Which is something I value greatly in a brunch place) For food, I had the salmon benedict, which was really good, but they skimp a bit on the hollandaise sauce. If I got it again, I would ask for extra. Service was ok, the waiter put in the incorrect order for my friend, but was apologetic and put a rush on the replacement. Drinks are a bit pricey, so probably not a place I would go to on a regular basis, but will be back. Hoping to try the duck wings next time!

I’ve been here twice and had great experiences(both for brunch). The décor is really unique and the layout is great with a large bar in the center of the room. The Brie omelette was good — just wish it had more Brie! The house made chips are unreal. Portions are pretty large and drinks are great. It’s pretty pricy so it’s not a place I would visit often. I heard the bar is great at night, so it’s a great place if you are just coming for drinks. A really promising place that I often recommend to friends. Just be sure to call for a reservation during peak times since it fills up quickly.

Came here last Friday night around 8pm. Place was packed, but this didn’t hinder my experience in any way. Love the casual atmosphere. We had the the duck wings, which were phenomenal. Drinks were on point. Main entrée of the house burger and 5 spice chicken hit the spot. Definitely recommend this place for a casual night out

CHILIDUCKWANGS, CHILIDUCKWANGS!!! — I’m going to be another reviewer that will be singing nothing but good praises because they deserve it! The duck itself is tender and succulent. The sauce is divine! I would have licked the entire plate if nobody was looking! Drinks: I was pretty impressed by the cocktail list. The mixologist truly know what they are doing as well. I would love to come back just to sit at the bar. I had the Southside and my partner had a Night Shift brew. We were both pleased w/our drinks. The Southside was so refreshing and easy to drink but really packed a punch if you weren’t paying attention! The braised short rib w/purée cauliflower was fantastic! The braised short rib was extremely tender and the purée cauliflower was a perfect pair along w/some broccolini. The broccolini had the right amount of bitterness that complimented that savoriness of the beef. My partner had the Steak Frites which he enjoyed throughly. We thought the fries had the perfect amount of crisp and crunch along w/salt that kept us coming back for more. He was very pleased w/the steak butter sauce which we believe consisted of a lot of butter! We weren’t complaining I tell you! Overall, our dining experience was a good one! Our server was attentive but not too intrusive which we liked. She was kind and informative. We will be coming back sometime in the near future!

My friends and I happened upon this place when we were in search of somewhere to eat. I’m so glad we came here as the atmosphere was perfect for a chilly night in Boston. Everything on their menu looked fantastic and they had some really cool drink options of which I am sad to say I did not partake in. I split the pork BLT buns with a friend and they were awesome. The pork was coated with the most delicious sweat and sour type sauce. I ordered the the braised short ribs which were wonderful as well. The cauliflower purée that came with it was absolutely amazing! I just wish there was more of it on the plate as I could have eaten a whole bowl! Everyone else enjoyed their meal as well. Our server was new but he did a good job keeping up for his first weekend night. My only regret is that I did not order the duck wings, but I guess that is just going to be my excuse to go back!

Ward 8 is located near my office and it has become the de facto happy hour spot when the occasion rises. Overall it is a good spot, although I can’t speak for the whole menu. They feature a great beer list including a regular Maine Brewing Co. Beer on tap. Maine’s ‘Lunch’ is one of my favorites and to find it on draft is a treat. They also have a good cocktail list and good bartenders. As for the food I’ve tried their burger and Cobb salad, and both were tasty. I have also had their wings and bacon caramel corn. The latter is awesome — you really should try it even if you just stop in for a drink — it has cashews and big Chunks of good bacon with the caramel corn — I am salivating just writing about it now! Ward 8 features a circular bar and high tables befitting its lunch and happy hour appeal. The front windows open up in the warm weather and give diners and open view of the North End. Bottom line, it’s a great spot for happy hour and tasty bites.

We went here before a game at TD Garden. It was so awesome to find a place close to the Garden that offered more than just beer and burgers! Pro tip: make a reservation, even if you’re planning to go at a weird time. We snagged the last table for 4 when we went at 5:30 for dinner. The cocktails were really good and the beer list was delightful. The Black Widow was great, and I could have had several Love in an Elevator if we didn’t have to run to the game. For food, the five-layer dip did not disappoint. We also ordered the fry sampler because my friend is super into sweet potato fries. I think the winner of the night was the tuna sandwich, which wasn’t weird chicken-of-the-sea, but a nice slab of seared fish. Looking forward to returning the next time I’m in the neighborhood!

4 stars for the duck wings! Came here fresh off the Amtrak after a long ride from NYC for some nourishment and libations. Sat at the bar with a friend. Our server was unusually rude; which is out of character for Ward 8 according to my local friend. We ordered from the late night menu and got the duck wings and beef tacos on with crispy corn taco shells. The tacos were forgettable but the duck tacos were TODIEFOR. Tai chili glaze with a ranch dipping sauce. Super tender. Go there for these if nothing else!

I came on a Tuesday evening, made a reservation with a party of 6, and everything was great. I really can’t think of any complaints. The drinks and food were so good, the space is beautiful but not overdone, and the service was great. It also looks like a nice spot for a drink when you want somewhere you can talk to the other person. I will hopefully be back soon!

What a cute cocktail bar with decent prices. Coming from NY, when the cocktail are $ 10, that’s cheap for you, because you usually pay $ 15 in NY. We sat at the bar, which was dimly lit with candles. I had the bee’s knees but made with vodka instead of gin. The bartender told me I was boring, but hey, sometimes you just want a simple drink! This bar is also near North station, so if you need to take the T or commuter rail, you can drink and wait here. Will I be back? Hell yeah!

I had such a good time at this place! The food, amazing. The staff, over friendly but not creepy. The atmosphere, fun and loud. The location, super strange. We had the best waiter for our first time here and I cannot remember his name. He suggested so many great things for us! The deconstructed lobster roll wasn’t my favorite but the dessert made up for it. Fluff, peanut butter and chocolate. STOPIT! I would suggest a visit, and like others have said — the location is so bizarre but I appreciate it.
