I would recommend this restaurant. First sushi place I tried in Boston. I went for lunch and they lad lunch specials available. You can get 2 Maki Rolls for ~$ 9 and 3 Maki Rolls for ~$ 13, both coming with soup and salad. The restaurant is very small, so it may be better for pickup. Knowing that lunch specials are all day on Monday and Tuesday at Sushi Station, they can expect a regular for dinner on Mondays.

Some of the best sushi I’ve had. Lunch menu on point. House salad, miso soup, and 3 combo rolls(6 each = 18 total) for 13 $. Great deal.

Fresh sushi and friendly staff. The restaurant itself is clean but quite little. Seating is restricted to counters with stools. Great for a fast meal or as a takeout spot.

I travel the country for work and order spicy tuna rolls everywhere I go – I’ve never had better than the spicy tuna from sushi station. A+ I order once or twice a week. Delivery is always quicker than they tell me it’ll be. Sushi is always fresh. I’ve never been disappointed.

This place offers affordable fresh sushi and its not bad at all! I particularly enjoy the Station Maki. You can get tasty, fresh sushi for the same cost you would pay for the pre-made sushi in the supermarket. The restaurant is definitely on the smaller side, they can’t accommodate too many people; but the staff is friendly and the prices are good. They have great lunch deals too. Carry out recommended, just because the food is decent and affordable, but the atmosphere isn’t all that great. Kinda cramped and outdated, but worth it for some tasty sushi noms! :) They also offer bubble tea, but only with tapioca pearls, not the juice-filled boba.

Sushi cravings were unfortunately not satisfied by ordering takeout from Sushi Station. Service was great, greeted by friendly guy. Disappointment started during the ordering process. They have coupons attached to their menus, yet when I asked if he had applied one of the coupons to my $ 60 plus order, he said no. He said they are for use next time. I was tired, hungry, and certainly didn’t want to piss off the guy who is going to be making my sushi. But that left a bad experience about this purchase. He later tried to make nice by offering another miso soup to the two that accompany my order. Nice try, but the damage was done. Bought the sushi home. The sushi deluxe was okay. Decent size sliced fish and tasted okay. The tuna wan’t very good, a bit chewy and rubbery. The sushi rolls were not very good, rice was too mushy, if I didn’t know better, I would have thought I was eating pre-packaged sushi from trader joe or any supermarket. The spicy rolls have very minimal amount of fish. California rolls were missing something, masago or tobiko would have made the mushy rice tasted better. Should have gone to Sushi Man or Takara Sushi on way home.

Had take out. One 2 maki combo and one 3 maki combo. Very, very good. Came with a small salad and miso soup. Fish was fresh and tasted good. Some of the best sushi I’ve had in Boston.

I had high hopes for this place & I was in desperate need of a sushi fix. I went w a friend, we ordered a several rolls and a lunch special sushi/sashimi plate. The rolls were good, not great. The s/sh plate had no eye pop at all but more important, the sashimi came out on the plate as 5 big pieces. Not thinly sliced goodness, just giant blocks of fish. What was I supposed to do w them?! I broke the salmon up w my chopsticks but the mini hunks were gross! I stopped w that piece. When the waitress came I told her in 20 yrs of eating sushi, I never had sashimi served inedible like this. She said she was sorry. Didn’t ask if I wanted it sliced or togo, she just tossed it out and then didn’t even take the sashimi part off my bill. Won’t be back Hi Sean I was in last wed or Thursday at 11am, very soon after you opened. We were the only2 in there It definitely wasn’t the portion size. That was fine. It was the way the sashimi was served. Instead of 3 thin slices, it was big chunks of fish. You just can’t pick it up w chopsticks & gnaw on it. I picked the salmon cause it was my fav & the softest. The texture of the chunk was not enjoyable at all. I don’t know how anyone could chew these giant chunks. Even if there was a misunderstanding with tossing out the part I didn’t like, it would of been nice to be credited for the fish that I had a problem with.

Sushi Station is located a short walk from the cathedral where Edward Kennedy’s funeral mass took place. It is a small spot up a flight of stairs, yet it still had 3 plus 5 plus 6 counter style seating options as well as a few small tables out in the back. It is also quite colorful and cutely decorated with umbrellas hanging upsidedown from the ceiling and stickers and cats and stuff tucked all over the place. My order to go took about 12 minutes for the two fellas to put together: Seaweed Salad $ 4.25 Inari(seasoned tofu) sashimi $ 3.95 Crazy Maki(5 pcs) $ 6.75 shrimp tempura, cucumber, avocado, with eel sauce Caterpillar Maki $ 10.95 eel, cucumber, tobiko covered with avocado with eel sauce on top We were pretty well satisfied with this afternoon snack, although I would have preferred a heftier garnish of tobiko on my caterpillar roll than the token smudge offered. I enjoy the fun popping sensation that they tend to offer but that this experience lacked. 3.5 stars rounded up. PS — I appreciated the response received on my inaugural review about their unexpected closure over a holiday weekend.

Had a groupon so I got the chance to check this place out. It’s not too far of a walk from Roxbury Crossing Station. We ordered so much sushi. everything was pretty good, nothing that really stands out. but nothing bad either! Price is decent so I’d drop by if i was in the area for some takeout or sit in, but it’s a small place but when i went it was empty besides one other person. but then more people started coming in as it got closer to dinner time.

I would have given this place 4 stars for the sushi alone, but had to knock off one for the poor service. I’ve been here twice and both times, despite being virtually the only ones in the restaurant received really slow service. My favorite rolls were the Red sox roll and the mission hill maki. Overall, if you’re ok with waiting and you want decent sushi, this is a good option. If you’re in a hurry, you might want to skip this spot.

My family had dinner here last night and it was so good!!! It was our second time there and you can consider it a hidden gem as the location is far from crowded area. It looks more like a house actually. Our favourite are the Manhattan, Fire Dragon, and Mission maki. The Sweet Heart one isn’t that great. There’s too much rice in my opinion. The service is also a little slow so we waited for a long time before we got our first roll. But overall very good rolls and we will definitely come back!

This place is so small but it’s really good. I would not come here with a huge group. It’s like a hidden gem because it isn’t promoted heavy. Just a small upstairs sushi spot. The menu is filled with interesting things. I wasn’t sure of what to get out of the special rolls because they all sounded great. I got the Mission Roll with the lightly grilled salmon and it was the best, BEST tasting roll ever. Our service wasn’t good though, that’s why I couldn’t give this place 5 stars. The waitress didn’t speak English, so it was a little hard to communicate. The food also took a while. My plate came out last and it was annoying to be the only one waiting while my friends had their food. I ordered a Miso soup & that took forever! Overall, very good food and I would definitely come back!

Trying sushi for the first time in Boston– I had high expectations from a city that has no excuses for having anything but the best seafood. That combined with sushi being… well… raw fish the bar was set high coming to Sushi Station. Quick note: It’s easy to miss this place. It’s a small little restaurant tucked in a white building. Go up a quick set of stairs and it’ll be on your left. Seating is a bit limited. Lots of bar type seating in the front of the restaurant and a few smaller table in the back. We came here during lunch and ordered the Chef’s Sashimi as well as the Combination Maki B(3-rolls of your choice) overall our total was just over $ 25. For sushi that’s not bad. For Boston that’s CHEAP. It’s a win win. For the real reveiw: THETASTE… was freaking delicious. Because we ordered the Lunch Specials we weren’t able to pick from the Special Rolls. The lunch specials did come with a miso soup for each person as well as a side salad. For our Maki Combination we ordered the Spicy Salmon, Tuna, and a Una-Avo(eel and avocado) Roll. All were super fresh, super delicious, can’t complain about anything. The Chef’s Sashimi was equally impressive. All nine pieces were delicious– unfortunately I couldn’t tell you what all was included(Definitely had Crab, Shrimp, Tuna, Salmon, Yellowtail though and they included two pieces of Tamago!) and they were quite hefty in portion which is always a plus! A quick note for those in a rush(which I was not so this didn’t bother me) it can be a little busy. There were two sushi chefs and it took about 20 minutes for us to get our sushi. If you’re in a rush get it to go and eat at your desk– it’s worth it! Overall this place really can’t be beat! Definitely going to be a regular here :)

I love this place. We’ve sat down at the restaurant several times and ordered delivery. The restaurant is very clean and cute. Sometimes the service can be a little slow, but we’ve always had very personable servers. When we ordered delivery, it arrived in less than 30 minutes, and the food was very fresh. Probably the best take-out sushi I’ve ever gotten. We ordered the«D11» combo, which included 3 different salmon rolls and a sweet potato tempura roll. All of the sushi was delicious, and the miso soup was hot when it arrived. The salmon pop maki was AMAZING. The prices are very reasonable, and we will definitely be back. It’s a great place to go for a laid back date, or order from on a lazy Sunday.

The place is delicious, although on the pricier end. The tuna sashimi and salmon sashimi were fresh and tasty with every bite, as was the yellowtail. Having eaten perfect tuna sashimi only once in my life, the tuna here deserves a close runner-up award. I highly recommend the«crazy maki roll,» which contained shrimps fried in a tasty, crisp coat that isn’t offered often at other sushi places.

Complaint: If you’re bringing a groupon, PRINTIT. Or as a friend just brilliantly taught me a life lesson, screen shot it. The middle aged lady who works there does not understand how to use the groupon function on a mobile phone. I came for a pick up and showed her the groupon I just bought prior to leaving home. I wanted to be nice and opened up the groupon for her where the code was clearly showing and she only had to click the button«redeemed.» After handing my phone, she clicked ‘redeemed’, said ‘oops’, and gave me back the phone and asked me to go back to the page showing the code. I tried but the code didn’t appear anymore and the coupon showed up in my ‘used groupons’ list. I told her I can’t get back to it because she clicked ‘redeemed.’ Going back to the email doesn’t help since it brings you back to the app page where it shows as ‘redeemed.‘ The manager stepped up while the lady went away to attend to other customers. She didn’t say she clicked redeemed so it looked like I was trying to jip them with a used groupon. The manager said the coupon showed it was used and asked me to call groupon since they don’t have control over groupon and they need the code to process the order. Honestly, I was not in the mood to be put on hold/dealing with Groupon’s customer service after walking a mile under the heat for this. I just repeatedly explained it was because the lady click redeemed hence why it shows as used and it clearly says it was redeemed today when they haven’t seen me at all today. I am absolutely not the type of person to cause a scene, but I was not going to leave paying full price and lose that groupon. The manager eventually gave in and told me not to worry about it. Patient guy and handled it kindly. Food has always been great for the college budget. Just beware of your groupons friends.

It’s blizzard weather and I have to work. Sushi Station is keeping me fed. well – I mean great tasting sushi with soup and salad(incl. great ginger based dressing). I am not normally the salad type, but the salad+dressing is great here. Good for take-out. I have never eaten inside this shop, but the staff seemed nice at pick-up. I did a combo of four maki/rolls incl. sweet potato, spicy tuna, california, and caterpillar, I think-all delicious. I had to stop myself from eating everything. Definitely a good take-out/catering option in the LMA.

Came here on a Saturday night. Place was deserted and turns out we were the only customers. It was really awkward. I guess the location was bad since it’s a small boutique-like restaurant in the corner of a street. Small menu and not a lot of options for sushi. Sushi were pretty fresh and we had phenomenal service! The waitress was very sweet and adorable!

Really fresh, no-frills type sushi spot. They have a great lunch special, and big portions. I like your standard nigiri and traditional maki as opposed to crazy maki with all sorts of weird sauces and toppings, so this place will suit a traditional sushi lover. Also, its miles better than the only other sushi option, mission sushi and wok
