Really good brunch — and free Bloody Mary(or mimosa or screwdriver) with meal — can’t beat that deal. It was a little slow service but the meal was fantastic. Had the buffalo chicken and sweet potato hash and it was well worth it. Potatoes were also really good and crispy. Highly recommend

Stats is EXACTLY like every other«standard» South Boston bar. It is absolutely average in every may. The service is «okay.» The beer selection is «mediocre.» The food is unimaginative but not overtly overpriced. Your expectations of a generic South Boston experience will be unquestionably met at Stats. Nothing more, nothing less.

Came here for a lunch meeting. Solid bar with good drink and food options. Ordered the steak bleu sandwich since I was craving steak that day. Also ordered a gin and tonic to go with the food. One of the people I was with ordered the Stats hard cider. Very interesting drink thats at least worth a try. There is a lot going on in that one drink so if you’re curious and want to go on a drink adventure, this is the go to. The steak sandwich was alright. The meat was a tad bit tough and chewy so it was hard to take a bite and not have a whole piece of meat in your mouth. Also, the horse radish in the sandwich was a bit weird to me. It isn’t a mixture I enjoyed but it can be for others. The sweet potato fries that came with the sandwich was good. Solid place to go to.

We were having a great night visiting from NYC to Boston and we went to stats with some friends. The bartender was making some great drinks and we were having a great time but all of a sudden the bouncer came over and told us we’ve been asked to leave. I’m the first person to admit if we’ve had enough to drink or if we’re being inappropriate but we literally were probably among the best behaved in the bar. After talking to the manager(who just came on shift) we finally got them to understand that we were just trying to have a good time and not looking to leave since all of our friends were there. The manager agreed that we were not inappropriate and were fine to stay at the bar. At the end of the day, it’s yet another reason why Boston has failed us when it comes to trying to go out and have a good time. It’s truly unfortunate since we were having such a great time till that point. Thanks stats, you killed it… literally.

I gotta say I love Stats. If I was a Brit, this would be my «local» as I’m here at least once most weeks. For a sports bar in Southie, Stats has a really solid menu with a wide variety of choices. Though most of the unhealthy fried stuff is the best. Personal favorite would be the Cajun style chicken tenders — but be sure to get extra sauce(that’s what makes them good). The service can be hit-or-miss but the waitresses are usually up for a bit of good-natured banter. The drink menu is nothing special but they do have a beer of the month which is only $ 3 bucks per pint. If there is a major or local sporting event happening day or night expect this place to be packed(line out the door for the Pats) so show up early. Definite recommend for some solid food and dancey /top 40 and occasional 90s early 2000s rap(Yes!). Also — if it’s EVER a toss-up between Stats and somewhere like Playwright or BBG — please do not go to one of those places they are trash(especially BBG). Go to Stats.

Went here for dinner and drinks on Friday night. I was underwhelmed. I had the BBQ Bacon Burger with sweet potato fries and a banana bread beer that I had never had before. Side-note pro-tip: the draught beers are *much* cheaper than the bottled beers. My 12 oz. drink was twice as expensive as my friend’s pint of Goose Island IPA. The beer selection is not very exhaustive, so I think the draw of this place is the«sportsiness» of it. It certainly wasn’t the food: my burger was mushy and falling apart and the sweet potato fries were so salty I thought I might not finish my meal(I finished my meal, you Curious Georges!). Overall, I enjoyed the atmosphere. I will pass on the food next time, opting instead to enjoy a basketball game, sporting a backwards baseball cap and boisterously yelling at the myriad TV screens.

bouncer is rude!!! I joined my friend who had been drinking since noon time at 7PM when I hadn’t touched a drop and within a round had been asked to leave over NOTHING. I hope this place never gets another dime in revenue. Absolute DISGRACE to the South Boston community. The ownership should be ASHAMED

Average size bar, tons of tvs good for game days, bi-level areas to hang out, but gets totally packed on weekend nights. I’m kind-of over the scene at Stats, but can see why the 20-somethings might frequent the joint more often.

Pretty good service and good at handling a large party with split bill. Tried the nachos, and spinach and artichoke dip which were both great! Had the clam chowder as well which has bacon in it(LOVE) and split a Caesar salad that was pretty average. Also tried a pistachio shot here delicious like candy. Went here on a busy Sunday during a Pats game and staff was pretty friendly and good with it being crowded. Only four stars because not that clean of a place and bathroom was pretty gross.

Used to live across the street from Stats and its a solid sports bar in Southie. Major issue with this place is how crowded it gets and the crowd wasn’t my favorite, as much as I enjoyed going there this is not the sort of place I would wait in a considerable line for. Biggest selling point here is the brunch. Its an amazing value and you get a drink(mimosa, bloody mary, or screwdriver) included with your meal. Bonus points for the fact that they serve the mimosa in a pint glass.

Usually this place is always happening and packed with sports fans and young Southie professionals. Today the vibe was happy & light and they were playing loud hip hop music. The food was spot on for American Bar & Grill, love that I could get healthy bar food… but what made our experience a four star and not a three star was our awesome waitress Jessica. Sometimes a server can make even a quick lunch that much better and she did just that!

Stats is a pretty average bar in Southie. Nothing about it really makes me want to come back. It is not bad, just not that special. I’m intrigued by the sold dinner plate offerings and $ 3 beers. I’m very turned off by the service, which echoes many of the previous reviews on here. Our server rarely checked in with us and seemed less than interested in serving us. Too bad, as we really enjoyed the food. Just wish the serving staff reciprocated our interest.

You never have a bad time at Stats. The food is always good, not great and the beer is plentiful and cheap. They give you a free bloody, mimosa, or screwdriver with brunch — and have fireside beers on tap for $ 3. How can you beat that?

Went for brunch. The Bloody Mary was lifeless with no punch. I’m guessing it was a mix. Had the meat lovers scramble which was fine but the eggs seemed overcooked to me. I think my friends enjoyed their meals more than me.

Good draught selection; points for having Downeast Cider. This place is a typical neighborhood sports bar with a lot of young professionals eating wings and nachos. There are more fun spots in Southie, but I appreciate it for what it is. Very no frills. Also be warned: total sausage fest.

The staff was friendly and the appetizers we sampled were wonderful. The establishment was able to host over 100 guests easily. The acoustics were fine even with the large party. In fact it was refreshing having a conversation not shouting at an event like this. The local IPAs were delicious and I highly recommend this bar.

Dirty shady business. Went with a friend for drinks one Sunday night. The dark haired petit bartender gave us attitude and poor service from the get-go, including throwing menus at us. She obviously didn’t want to be there making whatever they pay her for wearing a low-cut top. I never stiff the waitstaff, but I did this time; I felt it was justified. As we were leaving, she looked at her tip and gave me a look of death. Later on, I find out a TIPWASADDED anyway to my bill. Thankfully my credit card company caught it. I called Stats and asked for an explanation. The manager said he would call me back; he never did. I reported it to my credit card and thankfully they refunded my money. THISISFRAUD. I was talking to a guy soon after and he responded he too was hit with a seemingly«erroneous charge». My credit company has reported that more patrons have been ripped off this way. This is very serious and should not be taken lightly. IFYOUGOTOSTATS, CHECKYOURSTATEMENTS. Preferably you not go there at all unless you feel like paying a «tax» to the entitled princess of a bartender and the management that covers for her.

Solid brunch spot in Southie. Hearty portions(we had lots of leftovers) at reasonable prices. The homemade donuts were certainly a highlight. It was loud and crowded at the bar on a football Sunday around noon, but we were seated right away in the back. Our server was on-point and attentive, despite the full house. I was impressed.

I’ve known Jim Statiros from his previous location on Broad Street, and what I’ve come to realize is that these Greeks really know how to prepare food. Everything I’ve ordered here has been phenomenal. Among some of the dishes I’ve enjoyed are burgers, the goat cheese salad, the buffalo calamari, and the Cuban. Don’t be fooled into thinking that since this place is a sports bar it offers the same«so so» food as Playwright and BBG. And unlike its rivals, it has $ 3 beer specials! Stats is 5 stars in my book, which can be broken down as follows: –great for viewing sports games –newer, nicer, and cleaner inside than Southie sports bar competitors –affordable«underrated» food menu –superior crowd to competitors’(tolerable mix of Southie originals and yuppies) –happening night life –attractive staff and amicable owners

Stats is one of my favorite bars in Southie. I tend to avoid it on the weekends but love trivia Tuesdays! Their salads are surprisingly good and creative — weirdly enough Stats is my favorite place in all of Boston to get a salad. The other food on the menu consists of your standard pub fare and is pretty decent. They don’t have too much going on in terms of unique beer, but do have a $ 3 monthly special which usually features something decent(Sam Alpine Spring, Brooklyn Summer, etc). Definitely a good place to grab dinner or watch a game in Southie!
