This is one of the best in the city. I’m here every other morning, and they are so friendly nice and attentive, and they remember me. I usually do a mobile order and it’s always ready when I get there, much faster than other starbucks’ around town.

I don’t drink coffee but I have been here plenty of times before for various reasons. My review ISNOTASSERIOUS as some of the rest of the people that feel their tall latte wasn’t up to par. So feel free to skip it. It’s a small Starbucks. The guys are always very nice. They get my order in and out and I don’t have the phone app. I have seen some intense lines in there in the morning but the kids manage to make it go by fast.

Second time here, second time a server was rude and rolled their eyes at me. Today, even the Manager was rude. Never, ever again. Many other friendly Starbucks nearby.

They really need to have more help in the preparation area. They have 2 at the cash register and only 1 in the preparation area. Must have been 8 — 10 people waiting for what they ordered. Most people don’t have time to wait first thing in the morning!

Do not, I repeat do not step foot in this Starbucks! It is disgusting to watch a manager scream at her employees while on the serving line; but it is even worse to be rude to the customers while they are standing there and refusing to make said drink is worse. Honestly I ordered a passion ice tea lemonade blended – yes it is different but it is something I read about and have really enjoyed; especially since it is 90 out. Why is it such a big deal to take one more step to blend the iced tea? Walk the extra block to the Starbucks at the corner of Boylston and Tremont for your Starbucks fix… you’ll be a lot happier

Coffee on a freezing morning… nothing like a fake smile and a genuine disdain for me and my daughter by the woman behind the counter. It was all great for 10 seconds until another person showed up in line behind us. Preparing to order, we got this look: «Hurry the fuck up and order, then get out of the way!» I’ve never felt so rushed at a Starbucks. In fact, we barely ordered coffee, bailed out on food and had to wait until lunchtime to eat — thanks lady. 1.9 stars(yes, I’m still annoyed two weeks later!)

Consistently the worst Starbucks I have ever experienced. Granted I am from Washington so I have high standards but this place is just terrible. I come here all the time because it is closest to me and I need my fix but I usually leave annoyed because they regularly mess up my drink, they are very slow, and most of the staff are unfriendly. I probably have been coming here at least once a week for over a year getting the same drink and not a single staff member knows my name or my drink! This would never happen back home!

It’s a Starbucks. Like all 23,000(and that’s just in this zip code alone, folks!) other Starbucks locations, it has: friendly, attractive staff. Slightly burnt, overpriced coffee. Spotless clean. A mix of quality music and Maroon 5. Unobtrusive, uninspired décor, like what somebody’s great-aunt would have designed in 1995 if asked to dream something«futuristic» up. The reason I have reviewed this Starbucks is for one simple reason. Because this Starbucks alone(and rare among coffeeshops in general), in the great barren land known as Downtown Boston, is open after 5pm. OK, that’s a bit of a joke. But its open til 11! Which is sweeeeet. Imagine if other places downtown were open that late. Then maybe more people would go into Central Boston at night! Starting a virtuous circle where even more places would open, and more people would go downtown! Then the peninsula would come alive! Kind of like that time that the Alien burst out of Sigourney Weaver’s chest and came ALIVE!

Preface: I don’t like Starbucks coffee. I’m a small independent café in Cambridge kinda girl. Thing is, it’s either this or D&D around where I work. Sure, I could walk to Thinking Cup, but I don’t want my coffee run to last 30 minutes(20 to walk bath and forth, 10 or order/wait). So why 4 stars? The staff. Truly lovely people work here, and since I come in fairly often, I know I’ll be greeted with a joke(if lines are short, since they do get a huge influx of students from Emerson next door), and always a smile. Even when it’s busy, they always provide a nice experience in there.

If you’ve read my other 14(maybe it’s only 5) reviews of various Starbucks around the country, you will know that I am not a fan, but it’s almost always better than any coffee not brewed by a coffeehouse. But against its peers, I put Starbucks well down the scale. This particular one was fine, just like most. The Pike’s roast was a bit acidic and bitter like most. See my review of the Bellevue WA Starbucks. I couldn’t believe how good it was there. Probably because it’s in the backyard of the original Starbucks!

Why is the Steaming Kettle picture here? The steaming kettle is at Government Center not City Place. This is my Starbucks. I lurve them, the staff is great here and the food is fresh. Love the coffee. Sad they no longer serve the Blonde Roast ice but still love them. Sure it can get crowded but since I know a lot of people in line, it’s fun, or a staff meeting, LOL !

While I am an ardent and loyal customer, the service at this location is horrible, hence the two star rating. On average every weekday morning, there appears to be 2 people on the registers, two on food, one random individual who I’m not quite sure what it is that they’re doing, and only one barista. Considering that there are seven floors of office employees above them, the manager of this location is asleep at the wheel. Once I do finally get my order, the counters are filthy, and the sugar and dairy dispensers are empty. Very frustrating… when all I want is a good cup of coffee. The coffee is still great, but what I’ve described above is not conducive to good customer service… and btw… here’s a suggestion… either expand the location, or get rid of the seating…

What a teakettle to advertise a coffee shop?! YUP! It’s a historical relic that was there before Starbucks was!

I have a love hate relationship with this Starbucks. Its right across my school and thus I am there at least 3 – 4 times per week. Its been a long four years. I think that it matters who makes your drink, maybe there is some barista magic, but I do have my favorite baristas and those whom I tried to avoid. The service and how fast your will get your drink, really depends on who is there. Overall, this place is small, there are three tables and a little window bar, but its too small and way too drafty for any long study session. Most of the customers here are MTA workers, law students and medical students, and we are all in a rush. Sometimes you get hit by a backpack, well, hey its a jungle out there. The lines get long, especially during the critical times, i.e. 9 am, 10 am, lunch time, 2:30ish and of course the big rush about 5:40pm before the night classes. If you want to avoid lines, and save some time it could be more faster if you run to the Starbucks across from boylston T stop on Tremont. The coffee is good. Cant complain. So is the iced tea. I am not found of their hot teas. Most of the pastries are usually gone by 1 pm. They should order more. Overall, they try to keep it clean and well stocked.

After a group lunch one busy afternoon, this particular location of Starbucks became my mobile office for a few hours. I grabbed my usual drink(average wait time, average service) and pulled up a seat at the window counter, perfect for getting some work done and people watching. Halfway through my coffee and large bottle of water, the urge to use the facilities struck me and I was off to find the restroom. Lo and behold, THEREISN’T ONE! The closest restroom is inside the food court in the building to which it’s attached, which is coin operated and so far from the Starbucks that you cannot feasibly leave your belongings there! If you plan on staying long with your laptop or a book, head on over to the School Street location, which has plenty more seating and a restroom!

Awwwwwwwwwwwwwww… yeeeeeah! Though terribly excited, I can’t believe one of my firsts is a Starbuck’s. What are the chances??? Anyway, on to the review. It’s Starbucks. It’s fine on service, coffee, pastries… what don’t we already know about all that? It’s a little small. Not so bad except the line gets ridiculous during their busy moments. And I say moments because there is no way to tell when this place is going to be busy. That can be bad, but also work in your favor. If you have a minute, and the line is ridiculous, just sit down and it’ll die down quickly. I go here mostly because it’s right across the street from school. Only gripe is they often run out of stuff. I know they’re busy given their prime location and all, but the manager has got to learn to order enough. It’s probably once a week I can’t get Splenda for my tea, napkins for my grimy hands or milk for my coffee. It’s a Starbucks, it’s convenient – it gets four stars.

I’m not a big fan of Starbucks. I’m a simple girl who likes a simple cup o’ joe. I think syrups and sugars take away from the essence of coffee. I also feel like it’s mass produced and though consistent in recipe, inconsistent in technique since there are many baristas and often a higher turn over rate than I like, but they sure are convenient and if you want something sweet, they have lots of sweet things. They have a few A-OK sandwiches and salads enjoyable for those who avoid meat. Also, they have decent cupcakes with loads of icing. The rest of their«pastries» are remarkably disappointing. I can’t stand them, don’t touch them. Tried them because they always look and sound good, and they always taste and feel like cardboard. Particularly this Starbucks has really friendly and cheerful staff. They are happy and efficient, I assume they are full of sugar and caffeine… I like it! This place gets pretty packed sometimes and they move you through quickly while still being personable. It is also just in the area that I am in all the time. SO when I need a coffee fast, I go here and I’ve always left quickly and happy !

Really small, and kind-of hard to negotiate the lines at this Starbucks. I’d say if you are dying for a cup of Starbucks coffee, head around the corner to the Boylston Street location — it’s a little bit bigger and has more«Starbucks» character to it.
