1) Order the chicken finger/wing dinner with either fries and/or onion rings for the best deal.
2) Expect an extra 15 minutes (for pickup… You should probably just double whatever they tell you regardless).
Follow those rules and you shall not be disappointed (also, I reccomend referring to the notes below)
Notes for the area:
The best full pizza is at Good Eats.
The best calzone is Good Eats.
The best late night slices are at New York Pizza.
The best fried food is South End.
The best burgers are Five Guys.
The best liquor store is Hollywood Liquors.

Recently found myself recovering from ankle surgery… and my lack of mobility left me searching for delivery options. I must have ordered from every Chinese and Sub shop in the South End. After several orders from South End Pizza, I have to say my opinion has changed! I ordered on 3 different nights and each time my delivery was made very fast and each time the drivers kindly offered to help me carry my order up to my 4^th floor apartment… This also made me re-evaluate their food. The wings are big and pretty good. The pizza is exactly what you’d expect from a neighborhood shop!

Worst. Pizza. Ever. Ordered a slice of cheese pizza for lunch. Counter staff were friendly. Sat down to eat and could not tolerate more than three bites. In other words, I TRIED to eat this pizza but it was so disgustingly greasy and foul-tasting, I had to toss it out. For the record, I am not fussy about pizza and hate to waste food. Felt obligated to tell counter staff, who seemed to understand. Owner came over. Told him too and told him I thought it was the kind of cheese. He asked if I wanted my money back ($ 3.), which I was not planning to ask for, but I said OK and thanked him. That could have been the end of it but now the owner says, «You’re BS’ing,» using the real words for BS’ing. Like getting the money back was my plan. I said, «You think I’m BS’ing?», took the three dollars back out of my wallet and slammed them down on the counter and stormed out. Worst pizza I can remember in years and obnoxious owner. Buyer beware.

Ordered at 1:30. It’s 3:10 and I still don’t have my food. I called about 3 times. I was told «he’s ten minutes away» «he’s five minutes away» from two different people and that was about 30 – 35 minutes ago. I’ve now lost my appetite and no longer want the food. Disappointed :/I hope the food is good and it’s not cold. Since its been sitting for almost an hour.

I really want to like this place as it seems to be locally owned but keep on being continually disappointed by the very poor service. More often than not the order is very wrong (not just the extras but an entirely different order, like you order buff chix sub and get veggie sub), that or they put you on hold and drop the call seconds later.
When the order is totally wrong they’ll graciously remake and are apologetic. Have had 3 dropped ‘put on hold’ calls in last 2 weeks. Finally went in to talk about it and the guy said, «are you the 617 #?»… Yea, dood, like me and every other idiot in Boston. The guy was rude, condescending and considering New York pizza is right around the corner (has a broader menu and is open later) I’ll never go back to South End.
TL:DR– Avoid at all coats, place is from the 1970’s and filled with bugs. Staff incompetent and rude.

Canceled a delivery order 45 minutes after confirmation. No integrity. They tried to hide behind the Seamless/GrubHub app by altering the delivery radius, but there’s no excuse for not notifying the customer until 45 minutes after the order. They should honor their obligations or remove their restaurant from the apps offerings. Seamless/GrubHub isn’t blameless here ether for allowing this kind of behavior from restaurants they represent.

Had been a regular orderer from this place. Never again after tonight. Was told multiple times that my order was en route and should be arriving «any minute.» Two and a half hours later was informed they’d never got the order and that they could start it now. No discount offered. In fact, discount refused. Completely ridiculous. Say goodbye to this weekly business.

I think I’m allergic to grease. I ordered two pepperoni slices and a soda. The pizza was cold and greasy. The pepperoni was saltier than I prefer. And, they only have fountain soda (no canned soda). I got a stomach ache after eating only a third of one of the slices. I tossed the rest. Notwithstanding all of that, the customer service was A-1. Still, not likely to return for their pizza.

Everyone raves about their pizza which is absolutely DELICIOUS!
Being an Italian NY’er I like to think I know good pizza when I have it– pizza is incredible. Definitely our favorite at my company!

Surprised to see some poor reviews. As far as pizza and subs go, this has become my go to Sunday night spot for delivery. I usually only get pizza and fries but it’s delicious every time. People need to understand that it’s a pizza shop and not a 5 star dining experience before trolling out a 3 paragraphed 1 star review.

I ordered the Thai Chicken Salad the other night and I LOVED it. Big portions and fresh ingredients. I tried a few bites of the cheese ravioli and that was delicious as well. The delivery was early and the driver was as nice as can be.
One of my go-to places as of late and I see no reason why that won’t continue.

I am surprised at the low stars here as this place is one of my favorite quick stop pizza shops in all of Boston. The delivery is fast and friendly –even during a Pats Game! The girl taking orders is efficient and you can just tell she know what shes doing.
Pizza is above average — way better the the greasy pits like Emilios. Its not as good as restaurant style like Picco, but still pretty good.
My favorite here is the boneless chicken fingers and the 10… yes 10 variates of AMAZING sauces. I’ve only had the Louisiana Kicking Cajun (like a chipotle aoli) and the Chipotle honey BBQ both were so good I wanted to lick the bowl they come in. Crispy white meat perfectly fried in a finger liking messy good sauce — the best.
cant wait to try BOOM BOOM sauce super spicy but I’m sure still amazingly good.

After posting this review I went back to South End Pizza and Grill and I have to say, I’m s glad I did. They don’t have a direct on line delivery portal anymore and the delivery service is faster and the food is always hot and wonderful; maybe that was the issue.
The Hawaiian pizza is so good and I don’t know what the do to the grilled chicken on their grilled chicken salad but it’s amazing. I have tried to recreate it and it’s never as good.
I’m so glad to I came back and won’t leave again!

Ordered a Hawaiian pizza for pickup on Halloween evening. I expected a bit of a wait but it was ready within 20 min. Not the nicest atmosphere/place to sit and eat but the pizza was good albeit a little pricey for an average pizza. ($ 22)

Our hotel is about a mile down the street. Yes we could’ve walked to pick up the food but we were trying to settle into our hotel and were really looking to grub.
The gentleman on the phone seemed very friendly. Took our order and we were set!
We forgot to ask how long but within 30 minutes, our front desk called and our food was here ! Very reasonable.
We ordered 2 burgers and fries. Both were amazing for take-out. The burgers tasted fresh off the grill and the fries were just the right amount of crunch. Not soggy like you would expect from delivery.
This place came in handy for being open late in the evening and delivery! Now I can sit in our hotel room and enjoy some great food. I would order again, fo sho.

Mmmmmm… so yummy (good)! I was having a late night craving & was nervous w the reviews below on my delivery, but I have to say our Southend Special Pizza was superb a long w the crispy yum fries. I am completely pleased w our late night delivery. My man wasn’t even hungry and totally induldged in w me on this late night crave.
Will be delivering our pizza from here more often. Found another great place for pizza in this town!
