I see a lot of people giving bad reviews just because they cant get in
This is a guest list and/​or table nightlife spot which is what makes it so exclusive like a NYC lounge
The people who don’t get in there is obviously a reason why they don’t
My friends and I visit frequently and occasionally get a table for a special occasion
During the warm season the out door patio with full service bar is the place to be

Talk about a pleasant surprise. I got the chicken breast and my girlfriend got the filet special for the night (Thursday night) and it was legit phenomenal. We also got the soup de jour which was a rich French notion soup. Everything was so tasty and service was great. No complaints here.

Awesome bar! I was there on a Saturday night and it was insane… in a good way. The bar was packed, the staff was attentive and the music was fantastic. Sure, it was a long line to get in, but guess what, IT IS BOSTON. There are only a handful of good bars to go to so of course there are long lines. For all the people that complain about the bouncers, well, you had to have been an idiot to piss them off. It is like the people that crap all over a cop to their face only to be arrested and then they complain that they weren’t treated fairly. Here is an idea, treat the bouncers like human beings and they will do the same. The bar area is modern, the music is trendy and the drinks are not watered down. I highly recommend getting a table with bottle service as you will definitely wait a while to get a drink. They should have more bartenders, but that goes for most bars in Boston. This is the place to be on the weekend.

I recently went to the Night version of Society on High and I had a great time with my friends that visited from out of town. We started at a local bar on the same street and saw guys headbutting each other out front. Society on High was a big step up, it is very classy yet casual and the staff made me feel welcome. It is somewhere between cocktail lounge and night club, small enough where you wont lose any of your friends at any point in the night. I’m glad I got to show my friends that cold Boston can still be fun by taking them to Society on High

I am not sure why there are so many bad reviews of this place. I love it there and so do my friends. It’s small and intimate. Yeah it gets crowded but there aren’t a lot of douchebags. If people wanted a place where they hang with the underage drinking crowd, I would suggest going somewhere that is NOT in the financial district of Boston. If people are standing in line and you’re rude about being in line, of course the door guys are not going to let you in. Be a little patient and have a little manners. Maybe the door guys «act» that way because they are trying to maintain the order outside.
I went two Saturdays ago on a whim after dinner with friends and everything was fine and went smoothly. There were about 12 of us waiting in line and we waited all but 5 minutes to get in. Don’t think we’ve ever waited more than 5 – 10 minutes. It’s a crowded bar area, of course we would have to wait to get drinks. You don’t walk into a club and have a drink waiting for you. The bartenders are great. The one with the tattoos, she’s awesome. And took all of our drink orders at the same time. The music was so good, just a mix of everything.
All in all, everyone there treated us great and we all had a great time. We would definitely go back.
And if anyone is wondering, we are a mixed crowd, bunch of Asians, Whites, and one Hispanic. So no, they don’t discriminate either. And the ratio was even guy — girl.

Society on High has been my go to spot for Boston nightlife. In reaction to the negative reviews, if you are polite to the employees and wait patiently (as every great place WILL have a line) you will be treated with respect in return.
The gentlemen who work as security are some of the most generous and professional I have come across in Boston. They accommodate the patrons of Society as well as continuing to do their job efficiently and ensure the safety of the venu.
Being on a list is a MUST and both Frankie and Jason are more than welcoming to take care of their guests given advance notice. They are extremely polite and helpful.
The ambiance is trend forward and the bartenders are always on point.

I went after work for dinner, and everything was really tasty. We got the lobster rangoons, the shrimp risotto, and the burger. On a super blustery January night, this was just the thing (Protip: ask for the bar menu if you aren’t at the bar = noms).
I felt all the comfort of having a warm, carb-​laden meal on a cold night. Would definitely go back again.

Went here with a group for some after work apps-&-drinks. Bar scene was packed so we decided to get a high top table instead. Servers were friendly and drinks came out reasonably fast (given that the majority of us had a mixed drink or martini). We ordered off the bar menu and we were not dissappointed. Generous portion sizes with lots of variety (flatbreads, dumplings, lobster rangoons, grilled chicken kabobs, etc.)
Will definitely be back again to try the lunch menu!

Society on High is a regular lunch/​dinner/​drinks spot for my team when we feel the need to get out of the office. It is right in the financial district, so expectations for the area are that food and drinks will be expensive. I have found that Society is no exception, let’s just say, if I weren’t there for work outings, I might go less frequently…
I have had several good experiences. Lunch is always packed, a good sign, but not unusual for any of the restaurants within walking distance of Summer Street. Dinner Time and Happy Hour seem to bring in an equally impressive crowd. The drinks are good, their signature cocktails haven’t appealed to me much, but the beer and wine selection gives you plenty of options. The «vibe» is pretty cool and trendy, especially for a 20-​something like myself.
The food is my favorite part (is anyone surprised?) I have tried almost everything on the lunch menu at this point, and am yet to try something that isn’t great. After years in the industry, I realize how often restaurants change their menus for the season, to try something new, or simply because the chef no longer wants to prepare a certain dish, but I am happy to say that my favorite items have not left the menu yet.
The flatbreads are delicious, and the eggplant sandwich is my absolute favorite. Society is a great place to bring clients or work friends for lunch. Service is friendly and fast, and if the food is taking too long in the kitchen, you will hardly notice. My servers have always kept us just distracted enough.

We went to this bar for my fiancé’s birthday. Had a good time, but when we went outside to say goodby to a few of our friends we were not let back in to the table we bought. I asked the bouncers to allow me to close my tab and they said it did not exist. They told me to go away while they had my jacket credit card and ID. All of this took place in front of the owner who did not acknowledge the issue.
After waiting for 15 minutes I became upset and the bouncers pushed me into a wall and assaulted me. My fiancé got it all on video and another bouncer took her phone and cracked it in half.
I have never seen such atrocious behavior from a incorporated establishment in my life. We will be pursuing legal action.
Patrons be aware:

A friend and I were excited to try this place for dinner. Unfortunately we were very disappointed. The staff, although nice enough overall, was aloof and didn’t really seem to be super aware of what was going on around them. The first drink I ordered was straight up 95% simple syrup, it was so disgusting I couldn’t finish. The second round was exponentially better… some cucumber martini. The food was average, except for the shrimp cocktail which was either not fresh or extremely overcooked. It wasn’t the worst night ever but I won’t be back.

NIGHT CLUB
If u go here just don’t plan anything with promoters Manny and George, they are horrible and liars. I got a table for my sister 25^th bday this past weekend per our agreement it was suppose to be $ 500 for 2 bottles of liquor from some list. I picked the bottles that was on list they gave me thinking I was good, only to be surprised with a 11 hundred bills for 2 bottles (ciroc/​henny). And when I spoke to Manny about it, he treated me as if I was lying about our conv. Never will I deal with this night club again, I could of went to venu and priced half that price. I had a party of 25 ppl and he treat us like shit because we questioned the bill, he had a lot nerves. I spent good money there and he played me, he is a BITCH for that.

Saturday nights are not open to «colored» folks… Waited in line for 45mins and told that they were at capacity. They then let in ~20/​25 Caucasians that didn’t even wait in line and some were definitely not «VIP». Another blk couple that were 2 spots in front of us, (right in front) left after waiting so long and they let in 2 more white guys in the line that were waiting. Once they got to us, we waited, w/​o being acknowledged of course and eventually left. Once we walked away, the 2 white guys right behind us got carded to enter.

Society night club
My friends and I have never been here, but she wanted to celebrate her birthday at the nightclub here so I just went along. We got a table for her birthday.
First things first, you WILL NOT I repeat, WILL NOT get in if you’re not on the guess list or have a table. Friday and Saturday «guess list and tables only».
«Tables» are dinner booths, super small. My friends order some bottles for our table but I do not like volka so I order my own drinks at the bar. I ordered a Henny and redbull, the drink was very well balance compare to all the other places that makes my drink, pretty pricey compare to other lounge/​clubs though.
Despite everything else the service was great, our bottle girl did everything to make my friend’s birthday a great one. The bartenders were very attentive. the music was alright, it was a mix of everything. we heard a couple of songs once too many.
Overall, I wouldn’t really come back here for the nightclub, just came out for a friend’s birthday. We’ll probably be back to try the food since that was our initial plan.

Good place for a business lunch.
The staff was really friendly — we got there around 20 minutes before the restaurant opened and they let us in early. We also asked to make a couple of substitutions and the chef was accommodating. I ended up with a saffron scallop risotto that was hearty but tasty. Not too pricey for lunch.
This isn’t destination dining but a great option for a nicer work lunch. Not sure I’d come for dinner, and it apparently turns into a club/​lounge after dinner hours.

This place is absolutely terrible! There was a dude at the door named Justin who was a complete turd and was powertripping all night. All we wanted to do was go inside and give people our money for alcohol but apparently that was too much to ask for. We couldn’t even get past the front door. Why? Do you ask? Well reader; they demanded that our names be on the «guest list.» However, Guido wannabe Justin let all his friends in because «they were on his guest list» (his words not mine). I hate this place. How dare they deny me entrance when all I wanted was to spend my hard earned cash!

Really? Half the place is fucking empty but you don’t let anyone in the line inside? The assholes at he door pick and choose their friends to let in while PAYING CUSTOMERS DON’T GET IN AT ALL. This place is complete bullshit. Save your money, go somewhere else.

All of those classic club issues: long lines, crowded venue, and over priced drinks. There’s just nothing really all that fun about experiencing that all at once. Furthermore, the place is basically pitch black, not overly conducive to conversation. I’d be willing to try it for lunch, but that’s it.

I haven’t went in yet, but standing in line for 45 min is frustrating. When you see people who are not V.I.P go in that’s even more frustrating. To top it off, I’ve seen about, with no exaggeration 20 people leave within the last 45 mins. I’m wondering if they are making appropriate sales tonight. I’m questioning my eagerness to get in.
There has been multiple people who have cut the line to get in and favoritism has played it’s part. I’ve noticed the door service bringing in people from the back of the line and calling them «guest list». It’s amazing when a lounge gains some traction they tend to lose the essence of who supported them from the beginning. Much can be said about a place that finally has a name.
I would not recommend this place unless you want to be looked over and left in line for over 45 mins. So, ladies don’t wear any heels and fellas prepare to park near when you have to walk back to your car.

Great décor and great location especially if you work downtown. This is not a restaurant but more of a bar with loud club music. Food is average. I would highly suggest the owners better define exactly what type of establishment they want and stick with it. It has the potential to be a nice restaurant if you turn down the music, set the tables, and make it more casual dining.
The host seated us in the middle of a crowd’s birthday party and gave us one dinner menu and one bar menu. There were 7 other table open. The server was an absolute sweetheart. It’s very expensive for what it has to offer. After we sat down, got our drinks and ordered our food, we were shocked to see the portions of food provided. For entrée price you get appetizer portion. If you want a nice night out to dine then this is not the place for you.
