Boloco on Federal… Working on Summer Street, you too are just in the range I can travel to get lunch and be back to work on time. I know this because I walk by you at least once a week and you are within easy walking distance from my office building. Ok, I am by no means a burrito expert. I have no schooling in Burrito 101, I haven’t been taught professionally how to make them. I have been to Mexico twice, but didn’t encounter burritos there. I don’t have wild and wonderful dreams of finding the perfect burrito. In short, I don’t really know much about burritos. But I have had them before from a few different places. The restaurant is a little tight, always packed at lunch, but clean. The line forms right away and it’s an obvious progressions. They have nice big menus and pretty much state how to order your food, and the menu proudly boasts that their meats are naturally raised(good on ya!). From there you move over to the«pick up» area and wait for them to call your name. Much like Cosi, this place has assembly line food-prep down to a science. Up to the order counter I go, and ask for my Classic Mexican burrito, with steak. Large please. I get back to the office and expect, well, pretty much the same thing as Herrera’s burrito. The burrito was well wrapped, the rice was perfectly cooked, the steak was tasty, and the pinto beans were cooked perfectly. However, I think they had a little too much cilantro. That stuff is overpowering, people. I will say you can taste the freshness of the ingredients though, so that’s good. The filling distrubition wasn’t as good as Hererra’s and I thought the overall taste wasn’t quite as nice. I don’t know much about burritos, but this one was good and I would definitely get another one. I’d put this in «one of the best» slots, but right now top dog is still Hererra(cart not the store — haven’t been there). They do get more points from Hererra’s cart though, since they have more of a food selection. And smoothies. Interested story(in my opinion anyway) from last time. I ordered my burrito bowl and asked if I could get extra chicken. The woman at the counter told me no. I thought she was joking and continued on my way. After I left, how much I paid ran through my head. Sure enough, I did –not– get extra chicken. I wasn’t charged for it, so no biggie, but I just thought it was funny that she was serious. Menu Selection: Good — Very Good Price: Very Good Value: Very Good — Excellent Cleanliness: Very Good Parking: N/A Overall: Yes, I will go back.

This place offers a good variety of burritos, you can choose the meat you want, the size of burrito and add some extras. It’s good if you are Downtown Boston and hungry!

Burritos have never failed me. I love the non traditional burrito aspect. My absolute fave is the Bangkok thai… I usually order this 9⁄10.

Great service. Ordered online. When got there they had not received order. Should them email confirmation and they made order quickly. Food was good. Will definitely order again from here.

The soda machine is almost always broken or missing syrup that the majority of staff are too incompetent to fix. The food is good here though. It would be nice if this place was cleaned a little more.

Big fan of Boloco. Ordered online today and though my food was good, my order actually wasn’t right. There was definitely celery and blue cheesy stuff missing. In spite of that, still good food and I’ll definitely be going back.

Now that they have a new grain offering — farro due to their new Charred Broccoli salad — I decided to opt for it as the base of my goloco bowl in place of my more recent quinoa, and my previous norm brown rice. Unfortunately, however, they have the farro set up at the far end of the line up, and so the farro ended up being a garnish to my bowl instead of the base. The counter length of this Boloco is a bit on the short side, with a lack of space at the foot, so when they get busy, the waiting customers tend to pile up on one another.

Another poor performance from another boloco downtown. I asked for a buffalo burrito, I take it to go, expect all the yummieness and deliciousness of a burrito with tangy buffalo and soothing blue cheese dressing. But I get nothing. AGAIN!!! It happens again. So annoyed by these boloco locations where you ask for something and you get a dry ass burrito in return. So dry it pained me to enjoy it. So frustrated. And it’s the worst because since I take it to go, there is no way to rectify my order. It’s not like I’m going to go back down and replace it. Just very frustrated by the lack of attention you get from these places. This is the 3rd time this specific incident has happened to me.

Normally, I’m pretty ok with Boloco. For lunch or dinner, they provide decent options for the vegan and vegetarian inclined. This is why I came here for breakfast. Unfortunately, the breakfast options were decidedly not vegan friendly, which was disappointing. I would have happily ordered one of the lunch options but they wouldn’t make any of them. Bummer.

Never tried Boloco before but I figured I get one before they closed at 4pm(a FiDi normality that I think is insane). I didn’t know the menu that well, so I was kind of confused when I saw that there were Buffalo, Thai, Teriyaki and other options that I don’t think fit the burrito culture. I like simple burritos container simple Mexican food. I ordered the Thai one and got guacemole on it(weird I know). Food was good, but I just didn’t understand any of the menu or why they would even allow the options. Too confnusing, I’ll stick with one of the other countless burrito places around Boston.

I am a big fan of Boloco anyway, but after moving from Medford to Charlestown I haven’t been to one in a while. Last week while waiting for the gf to get out of work I killed a little time here and had a Teriyaki wrap. OMG!!! So friggin’ good!!! What made this visit extra special? The staff here is awesome, the Spanish lady that helped me was very friendly and clearly took great pride in cleanliness. Then the kicker-great Wi-Fi signal for free. I would and will come back here in a heartbeat!!! Do keep in mind, this place closes promptly at 4pm.

The Burrito gets a 3 star, but the lemon drink that sounded very good is very bad. It was like a Mojito without the alcohol. Boston needs a southern californian to open an authentic burrito place.

LOVE this place. The food is fantastic! They have gluten-free and soy-free options! I definitely would love to go back. Way better than Chipotle. GREAT prices. Great food quality for what you get. Great fast option for food allergies ;) Mexican food that is safe? I never can find this. I got an original bowl with a whole bunch of fixings and was very happy. Thanks to my brother for the delicious lunch! They did mess up my order though(and gave me chicken instead of the grass-fed steak), but it’s forgivable. I wasn’t going to have them make me a whole new bowl when mine was perfectly fine except that they subbed chicken for beef. I never got the story on this(I used the restroom as our orders came out), but I just assume it was a mix up. GO here, go to Boloco!

Great for a quick lunch – when all you can manage is to stuff your face with something like a ‘takes no effort to even chew’ burrito. Their buffalo chicken one is great and perfectly spicy, while their Chicken Teriyaki and Thai-style burritos are a little odd but surprisingly tasty. I’m a fruit smoothies gal, so if a place makes fruit smoothies with REAL fruit(very few do), they climb to the top of my list instantly. Sure, the fruit may not exactly be fresh from the grocer’s, but it’s REAL fruit! Not ice mixed with grossly sweet syrup that’s been sitting in a bottle for a year. So when I can’t get my Jamba fix, Boloco does it well enough to keep the fruit smoothie addict shakes away. Yes, I love smoothies just that much.

Ok, so I used to dislike Boloco. I don’t know why, exactly, buy I just was not a fan of their burritos. I swore them off like 5 years ago. Somehow, things have changed. Drastically. I think I’ve had their burritos like 5 times in the past 2 weeks. It’s the buffalo tofu. God, that thing’s good. Plus they have good iced tea, lots of seating, compostable containers, locations everywhere, nice service, the Boloco card… I could go on and on. Sorry, Boloco, for hating on you for so long. You didn’t deserve that. I’m so glad you will have me back!

Why is this Boloco different from all other Bolocos? At other Bolocos, you may find yourself in long lines and have extended wait times to get your burrito fun on. At this Boloco, service is speedy and you and your burritos(or whatever you happen to choose) are partying together as fast as you can say, «fiesta!» At other Bolocos, you can order anything from tofu to buffalo chicken; choose from lots of vegetables, and cheese galore. At this Boloco, you get all that too — but served to you by the friendliest staff in town. At other Bolocos, you can treat yourself to a healthy, tasty smoothie. At this Boloco, you can buy your smoothie and then sit outside on one of the many tables and enjoy the sunshine and do some serious people-watching, which is top notch in the financial district!
