Good customer service. Good food. Definitely heftier portions than other Vietnamese restaurants. Just a little overpriced for phở but not a big deal because of the portion size and the quality.

I decided to stop here on my way back home from Logan, and what a surprise. This place was delicious and has a large variety of Vietnamese cuisine. It strangely also has some popular Chinese and Thai dishes as well, I guess it’s your one stop shop! The waiter was very friendly and helpful, but he didn’t bring my change back :(well, he can enjoy the 25% tip then.

Saigon Hut is affordable, authentic, and delicious! It is probably the best Vietnamese hidden gem in Boston– the service is attentive and the owner is awesome. I would go back again and again! We tried: spring rolls with great peanut sauce, dumplings, grilled pork vermicelli bowl(bun thit nuong), and Hawaiian fried rice(com ga Hawaii) Can’t wait to return!

Really top notch food, plus great service. As good as any Phở as I’ve had around Boston. Beef Teriyaki was excellent. Really recommended.

I’ve been coming to this place for years and the management has turned over a few times. It seems like it gets progressively worse. I had the Phở dac biet last night and specifically requested less noodles(the broth is my favorite part). The bowl came out and was filled with noodles to the brim. The lady/manager clearly forgot to let the kitchen know. The broth was really salty and the meat was sparse. We waited for 15 minutes for the bill as the lady was on the phone the entire time. To top it off, she charged us for the tea. I’ve never been charged for hot tea. The only redeeming value is that they put a tv in.

When you’ve just discovered you love phở but live nowhere near a drool worthy Vietnamese restaurant, it’s easy to be sad. Luckily I get to travel to Boston for work at least once a month and was grateful to spend the week in East Boston, a neighborhood of Spanish and Italian delights with a sprinkling of of other flavors. After eating breakfast and lunch closer to the maverick t stop, my group decided to venture up meridian to Saigon Hut before making flights or buses. We arrived around 12:30 and only one other table was filled. We were greeted by an extremely friendly waitress and seated quickly. The restaurant décor is very basic, but it’s clear you go there for quick, filling, and delicious meals. We started with spring rolls and fried dumplings. The spring rolls were packed full and the accompanying peanut sauce made the app. The dumplings were crispy and the filling flavorful and moist. After finishing the apps, we were stoked to see heaping bowls of phở and vermicelli headed our way. Two of us both ordered the grilled chicken phở and it was the stuff dreams are made of. The broth, like any good phở, was good on its own and there was no lacking in the flavor department. Not to be outdone, my friend’s tofu and veggie vermicelli bowl was stuffed to the brim with goodies. He said the lemongrass was very present and he wished he could have had more. The portions were large and I didn’t even finish all of the noodles in my phở. Our waitress was adorable and asked us to help her figure out her Unilocal at the end of the meal. BONUSFORSEAFOODLOVERS: it really is all fresh, and if you call 30 minutes before they will go down to the water and get you a lobster to prepare. They will serve it to you in whatever form you like — spring rolls, egg rolls, lumped meat if they’re not to busy. If you’re in the East Boston area, don’t miss out on this little gem.

I am genuinely obsessed with this place and am THIS close to getting a 2nd job solely to have funds to go to Siagon Hut with. The food is so good and I love that it’s a cute little hole in the wall, those are the best!

Nice small place. Clean. Phở is big, Milk Tea is made fresh and everything was super delicious. Place was full by the time I started eating but you wouldn’t be able to tell without looking up cause everyone is invested in their food. Amazing experience, caring staff. I walked over from Embassy. Worth checking out for sure.

Really solid Vietnamese food, especially in eastie. The fresh rolls with grilled beef are delicious. The pork vermicelli is awesome — best I’ve had at a Vietnamese restaurant in awhile. I haven’t tried the phở yet. The owners/staff are friendly and prices are very reasonable. They deliver too but once I called for delivery and no one answered but when I walked over they were open — so maybe delivery is spotty; I’m not sure.

I used to live in Allston and I loved all the food there, and when I moved to east boston I really just starve until I get a chance to leave bc I’m not a huge fan of Spanish or Italian food. I drove past this place a ton of times, and on the outside it just seemed like some regular take out restaurant. Very typical and unassuming. Never stopped in. One day my more culinarily adventurous friend comes by and decides to give it a try. And holy crap, I still owe him, to this day. Because this restaurant is DELICIOUS. I think between the two of us, we have tried like 6 or 7 dishes and they were all AMAZING. Like, really, really blow my socks off amazing. I usually get grilled beef with rice, which comes with marinated carrots and turnips and a really, really good fish sauce that hasn’t been diluted for the white man. My friend gets grilled chicken with vermicelli or phở, with dumplings or spring rolls. All delicious. I feel like they need new menu descriptions to do their food justice — «succulent, tender beef strips, marinated and grilled to crispy perfection, topped with perfectly salted scallions, with a tangy, crunchy carrot and turnip salad on the side and served with our secret, mildly spicy fish sauce on the side.» [I actually wanted to be a menu writer when I was younger, before being told that that wasn’t really a thing. I will however gladly lend my talents free of charge to anyone deserving– ahem, Saigon Hut people]. And the best part is that it is really consistently amazing. I now go there at least once a week and it is never bad. It is probably the only place along with La Sultana that keeps me from starving when I don’t want to leave Eastie for a week. The woman and man who work there [they are the managers? Maybe new owners?] are so nice and friendly too and now they have my order memorized! I take it from some of these Unilocal reviews that the old owner/chef opened a place in Bennington which I am also excited to try. but so far this place has been my savior!

This is becoming my favorite local place. Their Phở and noodle soups are great. They give you a lot of food and the quality is really good. I had the grilled chicken noodle soup last night. There is a lot of good quality chicken in it. The flavors are fantastic. Overall, a really good, solid, go-to place for Vietnamese food in Boston. Even better — the owners/people there are super friendly!

New management and ownership but same staff. Definitely nicer than how it used to be and portions are a lot more in my opinion so I enjoy coming back here. Also the manager is pretty nice and talkative too! Downside is a minimum for card now FYI

This was the perfect dining experience for me. It was fast, the service was great, and the food was delicious. They can make any phở with vegetable stock, which is great for me since I’m a pescetarian. The broth was delicious, and the portion was huge! We were helped by two different women, both of whom were super friendly and sweet. This was just as delicious as the phở I’ve eaten in Chinatown, and I honestly can’t wait until I can come back and try something new.

Great food and they deliver! We are in Boston on vacation, and wanted to order in after a long day of touring Boston. We ordered delivery from here and the food was awesome. The portions are huge and they delivered it fast and hot! You can’t go wrong with this place.

Usually the service is okay. The guy who is usually on the register is not very friendly. The most recent time I went in I waited over 30 minutes for only two bubble teas. It was absolutely ridiculous and they didn’t even offer to reduce the price for the absurd wait. Pretty disappointing how on and off the service here is.

Reviewing for the takeout I had tonight. Ordered the Rice with Grilled Beef and Chicken Fried Rice. The grilled beef was a good portion for one person. I ordered the chicken fried rice thinking it would have a decent amount of chicken in it that I could just eat it on its own that way. Hardly any chicken but the rice was still good. Also, ordered an avocado smoothie with boba for my aunt and she seemed to enjoy it. Phoned the order and it was ready for pick up in 10 minutes — speedy and delicious! The cashier was nice as well. Had no time to make dinner so this was the perfect option in a pinch.

you’re in east boston and you want to get some phở. this is the place. perhaps it even seems a bit out of place in this neighborhood but don’t let that stir you away from getting to try it out. chinatown prices minus the tumultuous crowds of people whom sometimes are willing to fight to get seated first in order to enjoy a hot bowl of phở.

Perfect hidden gem in East Boston. I’m obsessed with phở and after going to a few places in Chinatown I think this place is in the top of my choices. We ordered the shrimp and cabbage which was huge and can be split between 4 people. It’s like and refreshing. Bug pieces of shrimp sliced in half, sliced cabbage, mint in a light fish dressing topped with peanuts. I ordered the large veggie phở with crispy tofu. Small portion would of been perfect. The broth was tasty and they definitely put in a healthy amount of veggies and rice noodles. The place is small but has the look and feel like a place in Chinatown. I’m excited to check out the other food options they have. There were 3 other tables there who ordered veggie and noodle stir fry’s and they looked and smelled great. If you like phở and want some quality food for cheap definitely check out this place. You won’t be disappointed.
