Marliave Takeout

This place is great! It was around the corner from my hotel while I was in town and it was refreshing to get my coffee from a place other than Starbucks!
Great coffee, yummy non-​fat plain yogurt with homemade granola (normally they have fruit too but were out: blueberries & strawberries). Friendly quick service and just the right selection for breakfast items. They also have lunch, light bites and beers on tap I believe.
Worth popping in!

This place was weird.
When we first walked in, it looked like it was some sort of pizza joint or something. After being gawked at like we didn’t belong there by the people behind the pizza-​bar (I think that’s what it was), we went upstairs into a bar room. It was pretty empty, and it certainly wasn’t welcoming. Then we were «greeted» by a pretty unfriendly bartender who looked like we were really just taking up space in the otherwise empty bar.
It’s a whole in the wall kind of place, and normally I totally dig that. But it was a little odd when my friend and I left for two minutes to meet some people and we realized we were barred in. Literally. There was a wood block over the door keeping us captive in this weird place. We managed to find another way out, but the whole wooden bar across the door vibe wasn’t really pleasant. Humorous, but not pleasant.
I don’t know. I won’t refuse to go back to this place, but it’s not my top choice for a good time or even for a pre-​evening drink.
