Mahmoud El Hadidy, DMD

I am absolutely TERRIFIED of dentists. So when my dentist told me I needed my 4 impacted wisdom teeth removed, I put it off for 6 – 7 years. At age 27, I knew I could not put it off any longer. I do NOT regret my decision to pick Dr. Hadidy. First of all, Angie and Katrina are such sweethearts and they made me feel SO calm and welcome during the process. The surgery went as smooth as possible and Dr. Hadidy was very nice. He really knows what he’s doing. He said something about lecturing at Tufts too which made me feel even more comfortable to know that he is VERY knowledgeable and experienced in the field he is in. I did have some after-​effects issues but I called them and Katrina gave great advice on how to deal with it. They could tell I was nervous and they even moved up my follow-​up appointment so that I could been seen sooner. All in all, I was 100% recommend people to go here. Especially if you have a severe fear, like me. Wisdom tooth removal is NOT fun, but this place definitely made it more tolerable.

I have severe teeth crowding problems and my orthodontist suggested me to get four pre-​molar teeth removed. I have delta dental insurance and found Dr. Hadidy’s office participated in the network. I chose this office because of the high rating on Unilocal.
I made the appointment for consultation the second day right after I got the extraction note from my orthodontist. The doctor suggested me to get four teeth removed at a time. I was so scared, especially my insurance does not cover sedation so I have to choose local anesthesia. I am really afraid of needles and getting four teeth extracted at a time seems a torture for me.
The day before the appointment, I kept reading the comments from others here to calm myself down. Finally, the procedure went well. No pain at all during the process or even after! The doctor did stitches even they are not wisdom teeth. I am really happy with it. I am going to get my wisdom teeth removed and I will definitely work with Dr. Hadidy again.

Dr. Hadidy is a brilliant surgeon. I cannot thank him and his staff enough.
I got my four wisdom teeth extractions done and everything went perfectly. The actual procedure took less than an hour.
Angie recommended that I’d bring in my phone to the surgery room, so I can listen to some music to calm down and it really helped.
Dr.Hadidy was very thorough with all the steps and gave me a very detailed written instructions to follow after the surgery.
As a result, I am in no pain and everything looks to be healing up pretty good.

I had all three of my wisdom teeth extracted about a week ago by Dr. El Hadidy. This was my first ever surgey and first time going under anesthesia, so I was fairly nervous, however everything about Dr. El Hadidy and his staff put me at ease.
My bottom two wisdom teeth were severely impacted and jammed up against my back molars. Additionally, the roots of the bottom wisdom teeth began curving downwards, so this wasn’t a slam dunk procedure. However, in what seemed like no time, the surgery was over and all parts of my wisdom teeth were extracted.
I had a decent amount of swelling after the surgery (I looked a bit like Don Vito Corleone), however the pain was benign enough that I didn’t need to use the pain meds. The 600mg of ibuprofen did the track. On day seven of my recovery and the swelling is almost completely gone.
I highly recommend Dr. El Hadidy. He made a surgery that is often trumped up as one of the worst experiences ever a relative non-​issue.

I would like to start by saying that, through my life, I have had many unpleasant visits to dentists, and so it is with great trepidation, and only when I have to, that I go to the dentist.
I never have ‘just a cleaning’
This was no exception. I had a filling fall out a few months ago and the tooth could not be saved, but I was running low on my dental benefits, so that I decided to wait and see how long it would hold out. Finally last month another piece fell out (never a nice surprise) and I knew it was time to get this taken care of and made an appointment for late this month. Last week I felt it starting to bother me and needed to see someone right away. I tried to find someone in-​network and Dr. El Hadidy was the second person I called. His receptionist was SO understanding and patient that she immediately soothed me and was able to make me a next day appointment.
My experience only got better once I made it to the office. I felt a lot of care and compassion from the staff, and once I met the Dr. he made me feel super at ease. He then explained the procedure and the risks involved. Once he gave me the shot of anesthesia I could tell I was in good hands: previous oral surgeons/​dentists have given me really deep and repeated shots: Dr. El Hadidy only gave 3 shots and got to work right away: I did not have the whole side of my face go numb as I am used to: I asked him about this after and he told me that he knows (and teaches his students) how to target the nerve. The extraction itself while not pleasant went well and was over fast. I waited in the waiting room a bit to make sure things were OK. I was given a number to get a hold of the DR if had an emergency and then he called me personally and gave me his personal number in case I had any [problems or concerns.
I have never had this level of care from a dentist or oral surgeon and I feel extremely lucky to have access to Dr. El Hadidy. I would not hesitate to use their services again.

I extracted three wisdom teeth here under IV anesthesia and was terrified before my appointment. But the experience went beyond all expectations! Angie at the front desk worked closely with my insurance company on my behalf, and Dr. Azzouni came into the office on his day off to accommodate my schedule. Although I had anticipated being out of commission for days, I was feeling better after one day of rest. I’m extremely pleased with all results and the professionalism and kindness of this well-​run, talented office.

I had a GREAT experience with Dr. Hadidy and his entire staff (his assistant Angie is especially nice). I had a wisdom tooth extracted today at about 2 PM. I left the office feeling a little tired because of the sedative, but feeling no pain. By earlier this evening, 7 PM or so, I had no more bleeding, no more swelling, and I wasn’t speaking any differently – completely back to normal!
On top of all that, he called me personally just now, to see how I was doing and to answer any questions I might have. He’s an excellent surgeon, a nice guy and runs a great practice. Make this the last review you read – just go ahead and make an appointment!

Dr El Hadidy is definitely a great dentist, and as an extra he is extremely nice! When I called him to get my wisdom teeth surgery to be done as soon as possible, he was nice to take a look at my panoramic first, and arranging me a consultation session so we can decide on the date. His assistant Angie and he explained every part of the procedure to me, and made sure that the insurance company was paying for it. I had a great surgery with no complications, and was checked on by Dr Hadidy couple times and it’s been one and a half weeks and I completely forgot that a surgery was done on me! He’s an overall experience, so I would say, even if your insurance is not paying for it, he’s a great dentist to be working with, definitely worth the money.

I never write reviews as i can’t find time for it, so this is my first. And this fact amazes myself. How satisfied i am to go online and try to find a place to write a review first thing after getting home from Dr. Hadidy’s office. I am absolutely blown away how caring and nice him and his staff are.
I didnt sleep all night last night cause of my wisdom tooth pain. Spent the entire morning searching for oral surgeons trying to get a same day appointment, asking for help with my pain. No one cared, no one had same day opening. The earliest appointment they would give was 4 days from now and it was only for consultation, i would have to make an appointment for an extraction for a later date.
Finally found Dr. Hadidy phone number and decided to give them a call, amost hopeless, thinking i have to go through this horrendous pain for days to come. Well, once i told Angie (at front desk, she’s so amazingly nice and caring) my story and how i was suffering from pain and asked for help, she put me on hold for a min to consult with the doctor, came back n told me to go in…
I could not be more pleased once i left the doctor’s office, because i was leaving my bad wisdom tooth behind! he not only saw me for consultation, but seeing how much pain i was in, assured me he’s not letting me leave his office in pain. Everything went smooth, tooth extraction and service was amazing and proffessional. I am very thankful cause i had the worst night of my life last night and Dr Hadidy saved me from having another one. Thank you! The least i could do was to write this review, Dr Hadidy and his staff are amazing. A+

I had an emergency extraction and bone implant done with Dr. Hadidy. I have never been so pleased with a dentist! He was professional, fast and efficient. I am going back in six months for an implant tooth and can’t wait.
His receptionist was extremely helpful with the insurance paperwork and is extremely friendly and kind. I would highly recommend this dentist — even though coming in and out of Boston for dental work might be a pain, the trip is completely worth it. I feel lucky to have found him. A good dentist is priceless.

I cannot sing the praises of this place enough.
They were very accommodating to my crazy work schedule, and spent an hour answering all my crazy questions. I have never had any surgery, never had an IV, never has blood work, etc, so I was very nervous. I knew I didn’t want general anesthesia, and the doctor presented many other options and explained all the effects. He explained the process with my X-​ray and was extremely caring and helpful as I got myself ready for the process.
I had all four removed, one of which has been infected for a year, and the process only took about an hour. The doctor was very gentle and excellent. When I went into the recovery room, all there doctors and nurses who were in the procedure came to check on me, which was very nice.
The doctor called the same night and was again very helpful. I’ve had no swelling, very little pain (I threw out the painkiller script and have just been on advil) and I feel great.
A thousand stars out of five!

This oral surgeon was so accommodating and helpful, the surgery went off perfectly and without a hitch. I had four impacted wisdom teeth, they were extremely painful because my dentist did not diagnose them in a timely fashion. I went into the practice, with a jaded attitude towards doctors and was expecting the same cold, removed demeanor I usually receive. Dr. El-​Hadidy was so nice and charming that I could not help but like him and I began to discard some of my preconceived notions.
In addition to the surgery going off without a hitch and every one of my worries put to rest, I recovered quickly and was pleasantly surprised to receive a call from Dr. El-​Hadidy that night checking up on me. I was shocked to read the negative review below, and I can only come to the conclusion that this patient must have wanted extra painkillers, or some that were unwarranted. Also, my bill was just as I had expected and the amount that my insurance covered was subtracted from my total. I was actually relieved that Back Bay Oral Surgery’s staff was adamant about billing my insurance so I didn’t have to worry about following up with them.
I came to this practice after hearing rave reviews from a friend and also after reading the Unilocal reviews. I would highly recommend this Oral Surgery office and especially Dr. El-​Hadidy to anyone who is looking for an exceptional oral surgical experience with a competent, caring, and involved doctor.

This is a wonderfully patient-​centered practice. They go out of their way to make things work for the patient and family. It’s truly unusual in this day of retail dentistry to find a practice this warm and helpful.

My lower wisdom teeth had a nasty bony horizontal impaction. The operation was flawless (as in I can’t remember anything). My guns healed in 1 – 2 weeks. I feel great now. Will go back in few years when my upper wisdom teeth start annoying me. :)

Im terrified of the dentist, so when i had to get my wisdom teeth removed, I had to be put under. He is one of the only ones who took my insurence and who did full anesthetic. i got the recommendation for him from another receptionist at another dentist.
The people who work there are very nice, patient, and understanding.
The receptionist was amazing, really helpful and knew her stuff.
Dr El is one of the sweetest, kindest man ive ever met. really cares about his patients, explains everything, and even personally called me to see how i was doing. his bedside manner is great. i hope i dont even have to see him again for any more work, but if i do need more work, im definately going back to him!

Had wisdom teeth removed here and was a great (as much as it can be) experience overall. Dr. El Hadidy is skilled, and I didn’t feel any pain throughout the whole procedure. H
In particular, he goes the extra mile in making himself available over the weekend if I needed anything, as I had them removed on Friday.
Additionally, I had some issues with my insurance and he was very understanding and patient while I sorted it all out.
Overall, great doctor and great experience and will hopefully be going to get my other two removed soon.
