Magic Beans

Today I purchased a stroller here and had one of the best customer service experiences I’ve had in any retail situation.
We worked with Ashley. She spent about two hours with us, went through nearly all the strollers, infant car seats, and accessories for each. She offered complete mastery of how each stroller worked and the features of each, and she was immeasurably patient as we weighed each option. In this process, we went from vaguely understanding strollers, to feeling like masters ourselves, and were confident we were making the correct purchasing decision.

Unfortunately the staff person who helped us wasn’t knowledgable. She innocently misled us to buy a product which wasn’t functioning as described. When we realized the problem, we contacted customer service but they weren’t very helpful. We emailed the owners and never heard back. Next time we will order from Amazon or Walmart and save ourselves this experience.

Best customer service ever, they helped me fix my stroller which I didn’t even buy there. The people always have answers to your questions and they are all really nice.
Stores and service like this make me think twice before buying things online, I love this store!

We just went to the Prudential Center location in Boston MA and were helped by Nat. We wanted to say that Nat was extremely helpful. She helped us to try on a number of baby carriers and to think about our options for car seats and strollers. She wasn’t at all pushy yet offered expert opinions on what might work best for us.

Fee! Fie! Foe! Fum! We feel so lucky to have Magic Beans just around the corner from us. MB is such a great store specializing in mid– to high-​end baby and toddler toys, as well as furniture, strollers, and essentials. We have bought a range of things from MB, from our crib and travel stroller to lots of toys, including Folkman’s incredible hand puppets. Sometime we drop by MB just to hang out. They have a little play area for kids while parents shop and on occasion MB hosts community events for kids. Love this place!

I recently purchased a Nuna car seat and a Cameleon 3 special edition stroller. I am writing to provide feedback on both of those purchases:
1. Nuna — I tried to install the base into my car and found out that the latches are not compatible. I then had to pay a $ 50 restocking fee to return it. I find it unacceptable that I was not informed that the seat may not be compatible with all cars and then charged a restocking fee.
2. Cameleon 3 — I purchased this under the impression that it was the latest model and just found out that it was not. At the time I purchased it there were already a newer model with an extendable canopy. Had I been informed of this I would have obviously opted for that option, which would have even been less expensive.
I pay a premium at magic beans in order to be well informed and this was obviously not the case on both occasions. I consider the hour I spent at the store learning about the products a waste and potentially misleading.
You could buy these products online without wastin a lot of time in the store and get everything shipped to your house since there is no added value on going to the store and it could be missleading

I gave this store another try after the owner (Eli) reached out to me. Luckily I have a perfect little nephew that I frequently spoil so finding something was a piece of cake. I had a great experience this time. The woman that helped me was super friendly and even asked me if I needed gift wrap. Total 360 from my first visit, which is greatly appreciated.

Yes buying baby stuff here may be more expensive than buying them online, but I still enjoy the classic way of purchasing in a store. A actual place you and your baby can actually see, touch and feel most of the toys, stroller, and baby products. The stuff are friendly and helpful as always. If they don’t have the item you want, they will order it for free. It just feels more personal. I bought my stroller here– the store is small but they have a good selection of high end strollers.

Magic Beans is a great company with great gear and toys. The owners and staff are very passionate and knowledgeable about the products they carry. Magic Beans offers a great rewards program along with online and in-​store registries. Go Magic Beans!

I love Magic Beans as a store but this review is specifically about the car seat installation I got about 2 weeks ago. Theo answered all of my questions (I’m a first time mom so I had a million), showed me how to do everything and let me practice until I felt confident. He explained exactly how he was setting everything up and the safety reasons for position, latching, etc. And I received a thank you note in the mail after! I would highly recommend getting your car seat installed here. The price is completely reasonable, you don’t have to buy your seat at Magic Beans (but they do sell them, I think), and it was very convenient (you can make an appointment online then when you get there you pull into a loading dock and call the store to let them know and then someone comes down.) A small price to pay for peace of mind for my new baby.

I clearly remember a little over a year ago telling a dear friend that I was expecting my first baby. Literally the first thing out of her mouth was «Magic Beans will be your new best friend»! Now, the only thing that came to mind was Jack and his Magic Bean Stalk… Oh how far I have come!
Taking my friends advice I registered at Magic Beans in Brookline, purchased my stroller from the Hingham location, and had my car seat installed at the Wellesley location. My experiences with this amazing local company has always been great but imagine my excitement when I saw the sign hanging in the Prudential Center that a Magic Beans was coming to the Back Bay (my home location)!
My son just turned 5 months old yesterday and I could not be happier with this store being in our back yard. Each and every time I walk in (which is quite often) I am greeted by a friendly and knowledgeable team member. I can’t believe that everyone even knows my son’s name now! Magic Beans has everything we need but if there is something that I am looking for and it is not in stock the staff happily offers to order it for me. Some people may say that it is a smaller store and I say «thank goodness» to that! I love the intimate space and don’t feel like I am getting lost at a big box store.
What really impressed me and inspired me to write this review is that I just had my new (I can’t believe how fast kids grow) car seat installed. My son had outgrown his first car seat and we needed to upgrade. After settling on the Diono (which is FANTASTIC by the way) I wanted to set up an install (which is also an unbelievable service). Because I live in the Back Bay I don’t use our car often so pushed it off for several weeks. Then, last minute I made plans to go away for a short trip and realized I had no car seat! I called up Magic Beans and asked for an «emergency» car seat install.
I can not believe that they accommodated me THE SAME DAY! I am sure I was that crazy lady needing a last minute favor but Kelsey, (along with the help of Nick and Abby) helped me get my car seat installed that very day and were amazing. I am so thankful and I know if my son could talk he too would thank them for providing a safe and comfortable car ride for him the very next morning!
