Delicious authentic French food served quickly and reasonably priced. Waiter was welcoming and attentive without being intrusive. I had the savory and perfect onion soup and a nice crispy salad; my friend tried the daily special vichyssoise and exclaimed with joy at every bite — I’m not exaggerating! Next time I’ll try dessert. Can’t wait to go back.

A TRUE French bistro … Simple, elegant and incredibly delicious. Jackie Robert has hit it out if the ballpark… Again! While the selections on the menu aren’t many, you’ll find yourself wanting to try two or three. Plan on coming back to confirm your suspicions that everything is spot on. Bravo Chef Robert.

My wife and I had a great meal there at Ma Maison. Service was friendly. Foods were awesome. The Lobster Bisque was very fresh and had a rich seafood taste. I especially love it very hot and it was still very warm until the last drop. My wife had the sea bass in saffron mussel broth and I had the NY steak with bearnaise sauce. It taste way better than any of those fancy steak house. It was rich in taste and very juicy inside. Love it the food arrived hot and not just warm!

We went for dinner on a nice Friday night and when we arrived our table wasn’t ready — so they gave us each a free glass of wine while we waited, which I thought a nice touch. After 15 minutes or so they gave the two of us a four top that they deemed a no show, so we got a very nice table. We ordered the foie gras appetizer, which was fantastic. My husband got the mussels, which he loved and I got steak tartar appetizer as my main which was a nice version and so big I couldn’t finish it. We also got a glass of Sauvignon Blanc and a glass of Cotes du Rhone which were large pours of good wine. The service was pleasant and professional and the atmosphere charming and cozy.

Apps and wine were great, but entrees seriously lacking. Bottom line: I loved this place until the food came. Would try again with different entrée choices. Atmosphere: Cozy, and servers were authentic French. Small place that was warm and inviting. Food: The highlights of our meal were the escargots($ 11 for 6) and the complimentary bread and salted butter. These were awesome. But our entrees(the lamb chops and Dover sole) were both disappointing. The lamb wasn’t tender, and the sole was a very thin filet that had been fried(which wasn’t mentioned when the waiter gave the description of this weekly special). Sides were an afterthought.

Hands down my favorite restaurant in Beacon Hill. The service is always great. Rotating specials are excellent and the atmosphere is cozy and inviting. Definitely a great spot for date night or an indulgent ladies dinner!

Great little french bistro. Great food, great prices. Everything ive had so far has been good. My last visit was french onion soup and romaine salad with blue cheese. I ate every last bit. Service was excellent. Dont want this place to become too popular, but had to write a great review.

One of the best French restaurants I’ve ever been too!(And I’ve apprenticed a chef from Nice, FR and traveled there often for work) All of the dishes pay homage to traditional French cuisine and to the quality ingredients that they use. Highly recommend this spot for any night of the week! I bring ALL of my out-of-town guests here for dinner!(I usually get the Salmon w/bone marrow butter and the ratatouille is to die for!!)

Walks in… takes off coat… sits down… winks at girlfriend and hot girl sitting next to me… opens up menu… jaw drops to floor. Prix fixe vday menu with no mention of said prix fixe on open table or website. You know it was bad when the bread was the best dish of the night. Oysters had cracked shells in them, escargot was deshelled, and, our dessert was garnished with moldy raspberries. If the moldy raspberries weren’t bad enough, we got attitude from the waitstaff for bringing it up. Your boy is quad-lingual but unfortunately doesn’t speak French. I don’t know what they were saying about us after we brought it up but it was very obvious they were talking about the hottest couple under 10 feet, combined(I speak English, Spanish, Gaelic and sign language). The beef Wellington and lamb shank were good but we will not be back. If you want to go to a good French restaurant go to Deuxave.

This was a nice French restaurant with fast service and a cozy atmosphere — it’s a very small place. You definitely need a reservation to come to this place for supper. We made a reservation for four of us at 8 pm, and we had to wait around 20 minutes before they were able to seat us. Our group ordered escargot — which was fabulous! The waitresses were constantly refilling our water glasses! The duck leg confit was to die for and probably the best duck dish I have ever tasted. One member of our dining party ordered beef Wellington — was also delicious, and the lobster bisque was great as well. However, one member ordered a chicken and vegetables dish over buttered noodles and it was very blah and needed a lot of salt. Prices weren’t terrible — around $ 20-$ 30 per entrée.

Outstanding French food at affordable prices with friendly staff and welcoming cozy atmosphere! Everything is delicious with generous portions and inventive cocktails or good house wines by the carafe(affordable) or rarer classic French terroir wines. Had the crispy poached eggs today arrived piping hot and totally scrumptious perfectly cooked runny inside on a bed of frisée and bacon-heaven!

Our waitress was extremely rude and forgetful. First, she forgot half of our drink orders and came back demanding that WE tell her what they were. Without the menu in front of us it was impossible to remember because they all had needlessly complicated French names so 1 – 2 of us got a completely wrong drink that we didn’t order. Second of all, the website for this restaurant explicitly says that the risotto is vegan. Our group of 8 came here with a vegan(me) having seen that on the restaurant’s OWN website. When I asked the waitress if the risotto was vegan, just to double check it didn’t have to get cheese taken off of it or something, she behaved extremely rudely, yelling at me that«This is French cuisine, we use cream and butter, I can only bring you steamed vegetables!» Thanks, I’ll have the steamed vegetables and will not be changing my diet because you yelled at me. I am not a high-strung type of vegan but it was mortifying to be embarrassed like that at a work dinner in front of all of my colleagues. I would shudder to try and come here with someone with allergies, they would probably get tossed out or served something life-threatening because #France. I am only giving this place 2 stars because the sauteed vegetables they brought me were actually ridiculously delicious. Clearly the chef knows what they are doing and is very talented even though at least one member of the wait staff is beyond rude. I wish I had known they did not accommodate dietary needs or I would have suggested we bring our work dinner elsewhere. We definitely will not be returning.

Absolutely wonderful from start(the ‘bonjour!’ From the server) to finish(chocolate mousse!). Atmosphere was like a little Parisian bistro, bread and cocktails were delicious… Wine selection is small and underwhelming though. Food and service were fantastic!

Came here for a romantic dinner over the weekend and it was such a lovely dining experience! The restaurant is small, but had a very cute, unpretentious and intimate feel to it. Starters: Country Pâté — This was such a huge portion! This more reminded me of the pâté I like in my Vietnamese banh mi’s, it was chunkier and heartier than I’m used to(which isn’t a bad thing at all!) It was good, but for a standalone dish, I prefer my pâté to be a little richer and creamier. Steak Tartar — This was well seasoned served with a raw egg on top. I absolutely loved the addition of capers to the dish. Our apps were served with bread, and I must say, I was sooooooo impressed by the baguette here! It was hot and delicious, just the perfect compliment to everything! Dinner: We had the calf’s liver and the braised lamb shank. Both were good, probably the best liver and onions I’ve had to date — but definitely something of an acquired taste. The lamb shank was tasty, but a bit heavy on the white wine flavor. Dessert: We got the hazelnut crème brûlée. Aside from a few hazelnuts on top, I really couldn’t taste the nutty flavor. But as a normal crème brûlée, tasty. The staff was incredibly friendly and I would recommend this place to a friend.

Reasonably priced higher-end French cuisine. Cute little restaurant with old silverware decorating the walls. There aren’t many reviews for Ma Maison(My House). We came for my boyfriend’s birthday and made reservations through open table. He is from France and is picky about his food. We were seated immediately and the hostess was nice enough for offer to charge my phone for me behind the counter. Service was polite and attentive. Drinks: We had 3 cocktails($ 10): Doux Péché(House Champagne, Peach Liquor) Parisian Passion(House Champagne, Pear Liquor) Champagne + St. Germain Liquor *Delicious and light– the St. Germain and Pear were our favorite Hors D’oeuvres: Six Burgundy Escargots in Garlic Parsley Butter($ 16) * Sauce was excellent. Side french bread was also fresh and warm. He is a baguette and bread snob. We had 2 rounds of bread. Entrees: Braised Lamb Shank with Couscous($ 28) Braised Short Ribs Bourguignon with Croquette Potato($ 27) Big portions: Both meats were cooked to perfection. The lamb was juicy, not gamey, and falling off the bone. Couscous was… couscous. The short ribs flaked apart perfectly. Potatoes and carrots were a nice compliment. Only suggestion: Use the curtains by the front door! There was a freezing breeze every time people came in and out.

Ma Maison(formerly Pierrot Bistrot) is a cute little French café in Beacon Hill. It’s lightly decorated with steel antique plates and platters hung on the wall and small pot of fresh flowers(coral carnation and baby’s breath). While waiting for a friend, I decided to get a freshly brewed iced tea, which was unsweetened, strong, and bitter. Since it was hard to drink, I asked to switch to a Coca Cola but i’m pretty sure the server gave me Pepsi. My friend and I shared Escargots in a Garlic Butter, which was served in an escargot dish. Since the Gruyère and Munster Onion Soup ranked«Best of Boston», each of us decided to order it. It was truly one of the best onion soups I’ve had to date. I liked how the broth had a sweet onion and wine flavor. After we finished our appetizers, we had trouble picking our lunch entrees. My friend ordered the Croquet Maison(which was served with mixed greens salad and fries). I liked how the French fries were crunchy and salty like it was brushed with garlic butter. I ordered the Duck Leg Confit with Brussel Sprouts Compote. The Brussel Sprouts Compote consisted of sliced brussel sprouts, diced tomatoes, and crispy bacon. I liked how the duck skin was crispy, garlicky, and salty. However, it was served in a tall bowl, which made it difficult to cut the duck with silverware. Sadly, we were too full to have dessert but plan to return to enjoy the desserts!

Nice real French restaurant, lovely food and service, gentle prices. The pâté de campagne was great and perfect to share. The Normandy veal was very tasty and authentic(I am from Normandy). The crème brûlée was the perfect end to a lovely dinner. They also have great cocktails and the carafe of côte du rhone complemented the dinner perfectly. One the best affordable French restaurants I have been to in the States.

Cozy, very parisian bistro. Lovely food. Huge portions for lunch. I had the spinach and goat cheese omelette. A little overdone for my taste, but it was nice nonetheless. Perfect french fries. Delicious tartar, spiced to your liking. Its small and tight, but once you are inside, you feel the«paris» vibe.

Is there such thing as a bad French restaurant? IDK, I haven’t found one yet, and Ma Maison is no exception. Jason L and I came here in order to try the Dine Out Boston deal. I stuck to the menu– Jason L diverged. The Dine Out Boston Menu offered: Appetizers: Assiette de Charcuterie Cold Vichyssoise with Smoked Salmon(can easily be made vegetarian– just request NO salmon) Entrees: Chicken Cordon Bleu Filet of Sole Normandy Dessert: Chocolate Mouse(substituting for the advertised crème caramel with raspberries) The Dine Out Meal cost $ 28, which in my books qualifies as a great deal! I ordered the Charcuterie– which consisted of 5 different types of meats, a few mini pickles and delicious homemade mustard. It was a very large portion– I liked 3⁄5 meats, the other two were pates– not my thing. The chicken cordon blue was AMAZING! I am not a sophisticate, so I will explain it the only way I can– it’s like eating an exquisite, stuffed, home made chicken tender. Ma Maison has the crust/chicken/cheese/ham ratio down pat. When you cut into it– warm, delicious cheese oozes everywhere. The breading was salty and herb-y. Perfect comfort food. Desert? Delicious– creamy with a hint of cinnamon, and presented with the dainty-est of cookies on top. Jason ordered the Gazpacho with shrimp($ 8) and the Pan Seared Scallops with Mushroom Risotto($ 27). Both were well portioned. The gazpacho was thick — and fruity, the scallops perfectly cooked and well seasoned. Ma Maison’s décor is beautiful, think old school bistro– champagne buckets at every table, gilded mirrors on the walls, and red and gold accents. All the waitresses spoke French, and many of the patrons did too. I felt like I was transported to a different corner of the earth, and felt deeply relaxed and well taken care of. P. S. It may seem weird– but they serve the best Strawberry Daiquiri in Boston.

My boyfriend and I were in the Beacon Hill area on Saturday night looking for a new restaurant to try out, so we opened up the Unilocal app and after a quick search, came across Ma Maison. I’ll admit, at first I was convinced that the restaurant’s Unilocal page was a joke — perhaps someone submitting a review for having dinner at a friend’s house since there was only one review and the words ‘ma maison’ are French for ‘my house’. However, I was pleasantly surprised to see that it actually existed, and I am never one to turn down French food. Inside, the space is cozy and intimate. They have the typical French fare, but boy oh boy, is it delicious! We had the foie gras appetizer, and while I wasn’t a big fan of the texture, the flavor was wonderful. For the main meal, I had the scallops with wild mushroom risotto, and my boyfriend had the duck magret with duck kimchee. We were both big fans of our dishes. The risotto was perfectly cooked and the scallops had an amazing texture. Overall, Ma Maison is a great restaurant for when you’re searching for amazing, comforting French food. I’ll definitely be returning!
