Ledge is our neighborhood bar! The staff is fantastic. We always have great service. The patio is a great place to hang out in the summer. The food is a step up from usual bar food and the menu changes often enough that we never get bored with the menu. Brunch is especially delish — especially the bag of donuts!

Very disappointing for the money — i had a salad with shrimp — 3 tiny shrimp were $ 6 extra — no value for the money — we will not go back.

This is a nice mid-range bar with a good bar and decent food. It is a shame they have sold the place because that section of Dot Ave needs a place to go have a beer, watch the game, and just meet up with friends. Customer service was excellent and it will definitely be missed.

This place is a hit or miss honestly. My first experience here was amazing! I got oysters, flat bread pizza and the pulled pork sandwich which was all delicious! So I went back there with a few people and they didn’t have any more pulled pork sandwiches and the waitress didn’t let us know at that time until 3 of us tried to order that. Apparently you have to ask for bread too if you want bread. Not to mention the waitress spilt oyster juice on my sister and on her purse and didn’t apologize but walked away and asked another waitress, ‘is she mad?’…very unprofessional. Lets just say I haven’t been back since. Maybe I’ll give it another try in the summer. maybe

Love the food and the drinks ! Upscale but relaxed atmosphere. Great customer service. Great Manager who is very kind and professional. Food is done in a reasonable amount of time but cooked very well, and very tasty. Had a situation where my order wasn’t done correctly, called and the manager spoke to me and was nice! I was shocked .When my order was redone he brought it out and still was nice. Its was kind of like a miracle in this day and age ;when if you complain about not getting what you ask for resulting in getting looked down upon with scorn and raft. Honestly, its exactly what good customer service is about. To top it off I was given a discount on my next order. Once I got home it was good to eat a great meal prepared how I asked for. Its the little thing you know, they mean so much. The calamari and burgers are great by the way.

GOD their menu!!! It sucks! Like there is nothing on it that even sounds appetizing. Then you order, and the food is cold. It’s so obvious they just take the meat out of freezer boxes and warm it up. They order their foods pre made it’s atrocious and then when you clearly hate your meal the waitress just ignores you and still charges. Like at least acknowledge this food is shit and offer me another selection like a nasty pizza or bread damn I don’t know. I got a steak tip salad, the steak was literally frozen and when I told her she brings it to the kitchen, comes back and it’s burned! Like whaaaat I should have just left. This place since it’s opened has never gotten better it’s crazy! The menu is still the same lol the only thing that saves this place are the bartenders know how to do their job. Don’t come here if you actually know what good food tastes like which the people in the neighborhood it’s in have no idea, these peoples biggest adventure is going to the local tedeshi update 2÷25÷2014 — the gods have answered my cries…

I love this place. My office is around the corner from«The Ledge» as we call it in Lower Mills. The food has always been good, their latest menu is awesome, lots of new items, the fish tacos are very very good, as are the friend calamari, they have a great California club chicken sandwich great salads and for the beef eaters, great steak and steak tips. They have a very good selection of draft beers, a really great private room(if you are entertaining a small crowd), an awesome outdoor patio. The servers are always great, David is our favorite, I have never had a better waiter, he is always warm, welcoming and polite. When people ask me where to go for a good local meal, I always recommend«The Ledge».

Ever since moving to Lower Mills a couple of months ago, the Ledge has been my local watering hole. They have a great drink menu(try the alabaster sangria) and the food is great! I’ve had more things on the menu then I would like to admit, and I’ve never been let down. My personal faves are the siracha-honey wings and the mushroom pizza. Their burgers are great, too. During the summer they have a patio out back which is awesome. I’ve also never had bad service here. As you can see from this review, I’m pretty much smitten. Hence, why I return to frequently!

I’ve walked past this place hundreds of times without realizing there was a magnificent patio in the back. I finally stopped in for a bite to eat and some afternoon cocktails. I’m happy I did. The patio area is wonderful; it’s clean, big, and beautifully landscaped. Our server was very attentive and had a great knowledge of the menu. We started with the Garlic Chips. The chips are homemade. They were pretty good, but I prefer a darker russet color. The garlic aioli dipping sauce was fantastic. I highly recommend this dish based on the sauce alone. I had the LKD Burger which was decent; nothing special, but not bad. My girlfriend had the Pesto Chicken Pizza, which she loved. I’m not a big pesto guy, but I have to say, it was pretty good. The drinks were great. The sangria is definitely some of the better sangria that I’ve ever had. The frozen drinks were really good too. I had the Frozen Coco Punch which was very enjoyable. They also have a very good beer selection. Overall, it was definitely a pleasurable experience. The ambiance was fantastic and the service was top notch. We will definitely be back to the patio for some sangria a few more times before the summer is over.

Lackluster food, but a beautiful patio for summertime dining, and a good bar area, good beer selection, and decent prices. It’s a good place to stop when the weather’s nice, if your expectations aren’t too high.

Was hoping third visit to Ledge would be the one to finally win us over, but no go today. The owners/managers seem to be coasting on its local reputation, regulars and back patio. Not sure they even know they have a front of the house to attend to. The consistent problem by far is with service, not the kitchen. Hostesses seem disinterested in the fact that their only job apparently is to seat patrons. Today’s hostess didn’t greet or acknowledge us on our way in, and on our way out was so glued to the TV she couldn’t even muster a simple«thank you». This is the third time this similar situation happened with a hostess there. Tip to management – if you continually say nothing, then guess what your staff does nothing to change! Servers are also not the most prompt. Takes forever to get a drink order from the bar, never mind a refill mid-meal. Food-wise it’s not spectacular, but not awful. Mid to high average – kitchen seems to have act in gear. After our first visit there shortly after it opened, emailed the restaurant to give feedback. Never heard back, and after no changes now for two subsequent visits I figure no one seems to want to improve service. So, like other posters I wanted to root for this place from day 1, but with third strike now, for me you’re out!

I’d been to Ledge a few years back for drinks after Sunday brunch with my roommates. I loved the vibe and the patio area and the drinks were amazing. I hadn’t been back recently, but had to take a client out for a birthday drink and appetizers yesterday and her son recommended going there. Yesterday’s Visit: We ordered the Pulled Pork Wontons and the Bourbon BBQ Sauce Hot Wings for apps and Dragonberry Mojitos. The Mojitos were a little too sweet for me, but my client loved them. In my opinion, the Pulled Pork Wontons were a bit dry and you couldn’t tell there was any cheddar in them. We also weren’t fans of the sriracha dipping sauce and used some of the blue cheese from the wings to dip instead. Not bad– just not great. The wings were delicious! They were covered in sauce so they were super messy, but they cooked perfectly. Service-wise Ledge isn’t great. Our drinks took a while and we were the only ones in there, and the waiter took forever to check on us during our meal. We also weren’t offered extra napkins or wipes for the wings. Because I was dying for the wings, but didn’t want to put up with slow service I decided to order take-out from ledge today! Today’s Order: Today I decided to call in the same Bourbon BBQ Wings, but also ordered the Coconut Ginger Mussels and the Five Cheese Mac. Big mistake. The wings were overcooked and there wasn’t much sauce on them at all this time so they were dry. Also I asked for extra blue cheese on the side when I called and there was none in the bag. I decided to order the Five Cheese Mac because I usually LOVE mac and cheese and the description read«fontina, gouda, cheddar, bleu, parmesan», which led me to believe it would be smooth and cheesy. Disappointingly, there was barely any cheese on it! It was all noodles and some breadcrumbs on top. Not cheesy at all and no sauce period. I understand using real cheese is expensive, but the portion was small and the mac was $ 14 with no chicken in it. I would have expected better. Lastly the mussels, they were probably the best out of what we ordered today. They came with three pieces of crusty garlic bread and they were cooked correctly. They had an Indian flavor, and the curry was done well– not too overpowering. Based on my experiences yesterday and then today, I wouldn’t come here again unless it was just for drinks and someone else insisted. I value good service, great food, and consistency in the food and I don’t think this place offers any of the above.

The Ledge might become a new go-to. The patio makes you feel like you’re outside the city, and aside from the distinct marijuana stench coming from the neighbors, it was one of the best outdoor dining experiences I’ve had. The calamari tasted like it came off the boat about an hour before it landed on my taste buds. They have a great beer and wine selection(I had a cranberry wine from the Cape) and interesting and creative cocktails. The mushroom flatbread we had was good, but simple, and the arancini was a new dish for me that was tasty and filling. Our server was great, but the hostess was so-so. Also the cocktails and apps are priced pretty steep, but not outrageous for Boston. I’ll be back for dollar oyster days Wednesdays and Thursdays!

I love this place, and I am not just being biased because it is my go-to neighborhood spot! Their food is consistently good and they change up the menu just enough to provide me with a change in my regular orders(the club, so good! the burgers, so good!). The side salad comes with the most amazing homemade dressing but the fries are so good you might not want a salad! The beer and cocktail list are always interesting and have never disappointed and a new $ 1 oyster night is sure to be a habit for me soon. Their kid’s menu is awesome and a really good deal and comes with a drink and crayons to keep the kiddos busy. The outdoor area is gorgeous, as is the inside, and the bartender always plays really good music. The servers are always nice and attentive and the manager usually comes around to check in too.

Mediocre at best. I’ve been to Ledge at least 8 times over the last three years, each experience worse than the last. The first time I ordered an expensive scallop dish that had THREE small scallops on the plate. For $ 17, I expected at least five. Another time I went, my waitress was so rude; I thought I was at Dick’s Last Resort. The last time I went. oh boy; this story: A friend of mine told me she went two days prior and ordered the chicken wing appetizer. She had found bird feathers lining a variety of the wings on her plate! I ignored this story and still ordered that app. Guess what I found on those wings? BIRDFEATHERS. What was even worse is that the waitress said, «Oh, that happens sometimes.» How about, «I’m sorry. That shouldn’t have happened!» No thanks, Ledge! Keep your feathers to yourself!

I’ve tried this place a few times and I’m always rooting for it to be better or to improve but it hasn’t given me the Guy Fieri wow factor yet. Service can be spotty as well as the food. It has a cute comfy décor of a quaint house kitchen. The patio is very cute and removes you from Dorchester city living. I do like the buffalo chicken spring rolls. Some of the entrees are ok but nothing memorable(burger, flatbread pizzas) or it was ok once but then the next time I tried it, it was different(pulled pork sandwich). Servers get caught up and forget timing, orders, or tables. I’ll try it again down the road and hopefully they will reset the menu or service.

After being turned away from Ashmont Grill(emergency closing), we headed to Ledge on recommendation from an AG employee. We were really just looking for an easy Sunday brunch outdoors and that is exactly what we got! The indoor part of the restaurant was just about empty, but that’s understandable. It was a beautiful day and Ledge has an awesome outdoor patio full of flowers that makes brunch feel like a vacation. Some of the tables do not have umbrellas which is tough when the sun is high and bright. When we asked to move to a shaded table, there was no problem. The Bellinis are fantastic, refreshing and the perfect drink for brunching in the garden. The coffee is well balanced without being bitter. My SO got the mushroom, leek and goat cheese omelet which was delicious. It’s normally served with the home fries, but since they have flour(not gluten free), he had to get greens on the side. But there was no fuss in making the substitution. I got the Egg Sammy — fried egg, bacon and avocado on a brioche bun. It was RICH, but just what I needed after a night of partying. Service was a bit slow and I’ve only been here once, hence the three star rating. But I think with a few more visits, this place could reach 4 stars easy. Plus, I need to explore Dorchester more.

Menu is quite innovative for a bar-type restaurant and the interior is stylish. Food was pretty good, and prices were great. The wings have a dry-rub that’s flavorful and are crispy, perfect w/the blue cheese dip. Steak tips were cooked to the rightt temp, not overdone. The mashed potatoes w/bacon were divine. I deducted a star for service. Our waitstaff was fantastic. The hostess meant well, but she just doesn’t get the service biz. We came in w/a large group that was split between 2 tables. We had extra family in town, so asked if we could get a separate 8-top for them. Her answer, «I told your group we couldn’t accommodate any more people, and we have to save tables for other customers». Wait, aren’t we customers? We weren’t asking for a table for FREE! Wouldn’t you rather have a full restaurant of diners right now rather than saving tables in case other people came in? We were there at 5pm and there were several empty tables, and told her we’d be gone by 7pm due to a scheduled event, but she stuck to her guns so we basically just went and squeezed into a table in the bar area to force them to serve us. She was very nice and checked on us a couple of times, but she just seemed very set in her ways and wasn’t willing to be flexible which is critical in the service biz. We did not feel valued at all as customers, even though our group rang up a bill close to $ 1,000 that night.
