I hate shopping period and shopping for shoes has a special hatred in my heart since I know the damn things I just $ 375.00 bucks for are going to kill me until they are broken in. Now why then am I giving these folks who are going to inflict pain on me 5 stars? Because of their re-​tool your old shoe service. For $ 115.00 they will ship your old shoes back to the factory for rehab. You get your nice broken in shoes back just a fixed up a bit. Not just the soles but the insides get fixed also. If 20 years from now you see some guy waking around in a 20 year old shoe style you can bet it will be me.

I’m a bit surprised to be writing about a shoe store, but I really like this place. As a west coast transplant, I noticed people out here tend to wear a lot of classic shoe styles every day (e.g. oxfords, wingtips). I discovered that that this place offers versions that feel about as comfortable as modern shoes made by Puma and Nike or brands known to be comfortable like Mephisto. Corporate does a lot of work to add features to classics such as shock absorption via cork/​rubber. Plus, they will resole some of their shoes like Mephisto, even if the sole is not 100% leather.
The people at this store are well trained and seem to actually enjoy their job. I’ve had fun learning about shoes there. I started out with bicycle messenger shoes, and recently got some leather boots. I might move up to some oxfords or wingtips, which seem a lot less than Allen Edmonds. Although not every shoe is made in America at J&M, you can pay the Allen Edmonds price and get those ordered. All and all, a good place to make your feet look nice.

Service is terrible

Prices are OK for the quality — picked up a pair of boots for the winter last year and they’re decent… could be better in terms of grip and comfort. Staff are a bit on the pushy side, so it’s one of those places you can take or leave.

Great selection of very comfortable footwear and other leather goods. The staff is super friendly and very knowledgeable. The are very patient and make you feel very much at home. They have a great selection of leather gloves as well as belts.
Shoes are available from every occasion, from casual, to dressy.
