Overall, this hotel is very nice. Our room was clean & beds comfy. Love having a frig in our room. The location was only 4 – 5 blocks away fm shopping & food which is always a better price than hotels. Love the bus that takes you around LA. We didn’t eat at the hotel since we were close to other restaurants. The pool was nice & clean & everyone at the pool seemed very nice. Love that they provide pool towels too! The price of the hotel is a bit high but so are some of the other hotels that aren’t as clean. The staff was very polite. I have no serious complaints.

Recently stayed here for a quick overnight, and found it friendly, spacious, spotless. Our room included what was essentially a ‘living room’ with ample seating, a small round conference or dining table, a ‘real’ closet, microwave, large mini-fridge, and fantastic king bed with a mattress you’d want to take home! A view of the Charles River, replete with scullers. Speaking of which, our prior experience with this site was attending a jazz event at their night club, named«Scullers.» Parking is an add-on charge, but it’s not a deal breaker. In good weather the hotel is a long walk to Harvard Square, or Central Sq. in Cambridge, and not proximate to any attractions of note in Boston. That being said, a clean, spacious quiet room, and convenient in/out parking — and tons of great attractions, if you have a car, this is a good value and a spot we’ll be booking again!

We booked this hotel, as a getaway for one night… I got an amazing deal online. It was warm, inviting, SO clean, close to everything… We had an amazing time! Didn’t want to leave. The front desk staff, the rooms cleanliness… everything was perfect.

Wonderful hotel with excellent customer service! We went to scullers jazz club for a dinner and show. We ended up getting the Jazz package which included a room as well! We had an awesome time and would definitely do it again!

Absolutely disgusting. Carpet and couch had stains the whole room felt dingy outdated and gross. Housekeeping did the best the could but the hotel needs a big update. My shower leaked, the bathroom door did not even close, stains on the walls, paint chipping, grout missing. The toilet seat looked and felt like it went through the garbage disposal. Staff was friendly, but that didn’t make up for me wanting to bath in bleach. I have stayed at this hotel many times, and won’t go back until the update the place. Oh and. The pillows were just over used heavy dullness, the coffee in the lobby was over priced. The air conditioner was really loud and the cool air never got into the bedroom. Oh and the breakfast Buffett, gross

I stayed here two nights for a business seminar. Suites were clean and comfortable and the lunch provided in restaurant was good. Staff was especially helpful, all friendly, great recommendations. The most enjoyed item was their shuttle service we utilized at dinner time. Our driver, Al, was knowledgable and acted like a tour guide.

I stayed here for one night with my family during move in week. People at the front desk were wonderful and accommodating. We got those delicious cookies! When we got to the room, I had mixed feelings. It was clean and comfortable. The AC worked great as it was a very hot day, but other things were broken. The door to one of the cabinets was broken. The door to the bathroom didn’t lock. Then, we ordered room service. That was annoying. The guy who took our order over the phone was unreasonably impatient. He was rude and I wanted to reach into the other end of the line at poke him in the eyeball. He delivered the food up to our room — I knew because he had a recognizable voice and he was characteristically impatient and rude. He even forgot our ketchup and tobasco sauce that we asked for over the phone. I understand if he was having a bad day but whatever, man. Just get out of here then. I managed to be as polite and civilized as possible being a guest at his workplace and all. The hotel itself is beautiful. It suffices for one night but I wouldn’t stay any longer than that if I had a choice.

Liked the corner room and staff was friendly. But was disappointed in the Gold level breakfast. Even Hilton-brand hotels at much lower rates include eggs, potatoes and a meat for Gold-level guests. You can get that for a $ 6 upcharge. C’mon DoubleTree, your rate is high enough to warrant a decent breakfast for Gold.

I had stayed here several times in the past for work. Never had a bad experience, and seemed reasonably convenient.

I spent 500 $ on a suite room with sofa bed, and when I arrived, they gave me a very small room with only one king bed, and I wait till 2am in the morning to let them put a sofa bed in my room after my 4 hour drive from NYC… and I am a diamond member, this is how they treat their members, NEVERSTAYHEREAGAIN!!!

For the price they charge per night, this hotel should be an easy three or four star rating. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The hotel is in need of an upgrade. The bed was comfortable, but everything is outdated. The location, although close to things, is far enough away that you need to take a cab or take their shuttle service. The shuttle service isn’t very convenient either. Nothing is walkable. Parking is very expensive for overnight and there are no nearby options that are cheaper. I try to always stay at hiltons, but will skip this place in the future. Hotel food is very $$$.

Disclaimer: I’ve heard accolades about the DoubleTree, so I came into this experience expecting the world. Discalimer 2: I got a Priceline deal, which may or may not have affected anything. Let’s just say, if I had paid full-price I would have felt gypped. This is not a BAD hotel by any means, but I’ll say I much prefer the Comfort Suites in Chelsea to here. First roadblock: NOFREEPARKING. Garage fee: $ 35 a night! That is more than a little steep. Hourly fee if you’re not doing nightly? $ 5 an hour. We were lucky enough to find a parking space a few blocks away from the hotel. Transportation-wise, I didn’t bother with the shuttle because it stops running around 8 pm and I know my way around the T. Location-wise, it didn’t bother me. There’s a Whole Foods right next door, and it’s only a 15 minute walk to the Red Line at Central Square. I’m from NY, walking doesn’t bother me and I find Boston to be a very walkable city because everything is so close together. That warm chocolate-chip cookie you’re promised? Full of nuts. My room happened to have one Queen bed, not a suite like other reviewers. I must say, it felt cramped. I asked about rooms with 2 double beds and was told they were all out, but they didn’t have double beds anyway, only rooms with 2 Twins? Sounds a little cheap, in my opinion. But the room, sheets, and towels were all clean. Free continental breakfast? YEAHRIGHT. They don’t let you know that it’s $ 15 for the continental option and $ 20 for the hot buffet until you’re standing in line for it. I began to feel nickel and dimed the whole way. Oh, and we didn’t even make it to the rooftop bar because it closed at like 10 and we’re not used to bars closing at like 10. On the bright side. There was a jacuzzi. I enjoyed the jacuzzi. I haven’t been in a jacuzzi since I was a teenager. Bonus: I asked for extra blankets and they were provided quite expediently. Once again, not a BAD hotel by any means. Just, if you’re paying this DoubleTree’s rates, you can do better. I’ve done bigger and better and rooms for cheaper in less«luxury» hotels.

I stayed here with my girlfriend in mid to late may. I was very happy with the service and the overall quality of the hotel. The entry way inviting and beautiful, the staff was polite and engaged. Our room was beautiful and had a beautiful view of the charles river. We ate at the restaurant and the food was good. I felt though that the staff at the restaurant where trying to get us out of the restaurant as soon as possible since they were closing soon. It took away from the entire restaurants setup and food quality. I also do not like the 30 dollar parking price per day which is hard to avoid. I also don’t like that it was directly next to a chemical plant. I have to say though it was a very pleasurable Stat and would happily stay there again.

Excellent hotel. Very friendly staff, great amenities and wonderful décor. I was here because my apartment in Cambridge flooded after a water pipe burst. I needed some toiletries, which they also provided upon request. The whirlpool and fitness room were especially great. iMac desktops in the lobby are for complementary use. High speed internet. Just make sure you ask for a room facing the Charles River, otherwise you’ll face the highway, which really isn’t bad. I enjoyed my time, although very brief, and am thankful for the staff.

This is a pretty nice hostel. While the interior will send mixed messages, the rooms are pretty nice. I’d avoid the restaurant though. It’s not worth your money, especially for breakfast, when you have so many other options so close.

This is a great hotel, but make sure you either have a car or are ok with taking taxis everywhere as this hotel is a bit isolated and isn’t a convenient walking distance to much of anything. All of that aside, this is a very good hotel, convenient to the Mass Pike and Storrow Drive. The lobby looks like it just underwent a big renovation as it was much nicer than any other DoubleTree that I have been to in the past. There is a decent bar here and it is home to Scullers, probably one of the top jazz clubs in all of New England. The staff here was friendly throughout my visit, whether it was the front desk staff or the bartenders. My room was fantastic. I booked a corner room king suite. I had views of downtown /Back Bay as well as the Charles River and Cambridge. My room was well appointed and the living room was very spacious, with comfy seating. The bedroom was a bit small, but that was okay as the bed was very comfortable.

If you’re searching for a quality hotel in Boston/Cambridge for under $ 200/night, this DoubleTree is a good option as it’s right on the Charles River. They have a parking garage and many taxis nearby, which is handy because there’s not really anything within walking distance. The property has a good bar & restaurant on-site & can accommodate large business conferences. The room is really spacious for a Boston hotel! It has a living room with dining table along with a fridge/microwave under a wet bar. The bed is super cozy & the room has a great view! For HHonors gold & diamond members, they give you breakfast coupons, and their continental breakfast includes many great choices, but you can upgrade to the hot breakfast buffet(with cooked-to-order omelets) for $ 6. I was very impressed with the quality! All in all, this was definitely better than the 3 Hamptons I’ve stayed in around here, and it beats staying at the airport… so I’ll definitely stay here again next time I’m back in Boston/Cambridge!

Service here is very very good. Though there was a line when we arrived to check in they moved through it very quickly. We were greeted very friendly and given our cookies and a gift bag for being a Hilton awards member. We asked for a room with a view of the river and were able to get one! It was great! The room was spacious and the bed comfortable. Loved having two rooms and two TVs. We did have a problem with our alarm clock. The time was wrong and you needed a special key to reset it. We had to call maintenance to take care of it. We did and they arrived very quickly to solve the problem. Free wi-fi was a bonus. Other reviews mention a noise problem but even though the hotel was hosting two weddings the Saturday night that we were there, we didn’t hear a thing. Location wise this isn’t the best option. It’s a little bit out of the way. Not downtown Boston nor downtown Cambridge. There aren’t any T-stops near by either. If you don’t have a vehicle you will most likely need to cab it. I did find a couple of dining spots within a mile or so that I could walk to. Those were great! The restaurant is a bit pricey but the service was friendly and excellent. The grilled breakfast sandwich that I had, two eggs, bacon and cheese was outstanding!(Wi-fi doesn’t work in the restaurant.)

I’m here again for business and I still love it. I love the professionalism & courtesy of the front desk, the room service waiter… Everyone. Excellent service is what you will find at this hotel. As, ‘Up in the Air’ as it seems, there nothing like going to a hotel and them acknowledging your status and the fact that you are a return guest. I(unfortunately) spend my life on the road and it’s friendly and comforting to be recognized in that manner. This hotel is the hotel that will do that. I learned from my trip that not only does the concierge beatbox & the bellman table drum, but there’s a dancer here too. Nothing like going to a place where everyone is über friendly, professional AND talented! I haven’t seen«the dancer» yet but I will be on the lookout. These types of things are what I live for!(Especially when they think no one is looking)… Oh I’m looking, I’m taking notes, I’m loving it and I’m trying to mimic your skills when I get home! The room: this time I booked a double twin bed room(it’s all they had left). I didn’t fall off the bed so, I’m not complaining. What I did learn is: the TV in the living room is not on a rotating arm. So you cannot watch TV and eat at the table unless you move the table. Don’t be like me, I almost ripped the TV off the ding dang wall assuming it extended & rotated. Well, it doesn’t. It does NOT. No, no. It will not move no matter what superhuman strength you claim to have. So don’t do it. You’ll sprain your wrist or break a hip trying. Soooo not worth it. I know it doesn’t make sense that it’s stationary, but it is what it is. Just move the table. In the end, something can be moved and no one gets hurt. Although the Hilton Back Bay is my fav hotel in the area, this hotel is a very close second. And as far as being personable in their customer service, this hotel far surmounts all the hotels in all the cities that I visit. And unlike the Hilton Back Bay, the rates of this hotel consistently meet my company policy.

I stayed here while in town for a swim meet. Having never been to boston, the staff was very nice and helpful with questions on how to navigate the city or where to eat. The cookies were pretty cool too! Overall, the rooms were clean and well stocked each day. I did notice that there was minimal hot water and the location of this hotel really sucks. There aren’t many train stops close so I had to rely on cabs. One cab driver, I think, was drunk — so be careful! There also is no continental breakfast — and breakfast is extremely expensive here. Overall not too bad if you aren’t picky.
