I’ve been going here for a few years — mostly for it’s fairly convenient location near a T-​stop not far from work. I originally did some searches for dentist reviews online, but, after finding a «highly rated» one with a dentist who didn’t believe in toothpaste. I gave up on informed decision making and picked this out of a hat.
I don’t think i could have done much better. Dental Dental works flawlessly with this group. I’m able to get appointments on short notice (and can re-​book mine as needed — with 24 hours notice of course). Everyone is friendly, and the place is immaculately clean. Even the building is a bit intimidatingly high class. I really love that they even have one of those cool digital x-​ray displays, so you get to see your x-​rays almost immediately as your dentist points out what you’ve been doing wrong all these years (FLOSS DAMN YOU FLOSS! — I assume he’s thinking).
The most amazing thing was, the dentist took a look at a particularly bad filling job a previous dentist had done. The problem is the adhesive he used is not supposed to be used as filling, since it’s impossible to tell if decay is happening. After suggesting I could have it taken out, he thought a bit, and just told me he would just keep an eye out for changes and not do unnecessary work.
I’ve been told by previous dentists to get this done… and it isn’t until a few visits later they decide to wait and see — and I haven’t seen any changes in years, so it seems to be the right approach.
So — in my visits, with no real work done, just x-​rays and cleaning — I’ve been superbly pleased with this place.

If you’re not so concerned about the cost of your dental work, and just want an amazing dentist experience, I can’t say enough wonderful things about Commonwealth Dental.
I’ve been now for 2 cleanings and also a filling. This place has the most high tech, state of the art equipment and an amazing staff, and these things DO make a difference. I had X-​rays done of my teeth here on my first visit, and was really impressed with the digital displays on flat screens in the exam room on which we could all look at my teeth together, and it was easy for the dentist to explain exactly what areas were of concern.
The prices are the only drawback, and even after being run through insurance it is still quite pricy compared to other places. However, if you’re like me, having an easy and pain free dental experience in completely worth the price.

Having had really bad experiences with dentists in the United States, I feel compelled to express how great the people at Commonwealth Dental Group are. I have been Rob Schumacher’s patient for almost two years now. Before going there, I had constant tooth pain due to teeth grinding and some bad treatment from other dentists. Now, I am pain free.
Rob Schumacher is not only a great guy who genuinely cares about your well-​being, he is extremely capable (see his credentials on their website), knowledgeable, while — and that I value in a doctor more than anything — does not try to make quick assessments pretending to know exactly what ails you in particular, knowing that some diagnoses take time and that everyone is different, and he does not try to sell you on any treatment that’s not absolutely necessary.
When he does treat you, he takes great care in making everything look perfect. I have had a crown done there (actually it’s not called a crown, because they use new technology there that doesnt require to take off as much of the tooth as is necessary for a crown) and the tooth looks like it didnt receive any treatment at all.
Also, the rest of the team is just extremely friendly, professional and makes even a visit to the dentist a pleasure.

This review is about both Mark Mizner, and one of his colleagues in the same office, Rob Schumacher.
I was a patient of Dr. Mizner’s throughout all of residency, and actually *didn’t mind* going to the dentist. Mark is super nice and laid back. The office staff is friendly. They always called to remind me of my appointment, which is key for a resident! :) The hygenists are wonderful, and gentle. Really top notch.
So, I wanted cosmetic dentistry towards the end of my residency. By a stroke of luck, a prosthedontist had joined his practice. The guy’s name is Rob Schumacher. HE IS AMAZING. (a) I’ve never laughed so much at a dentist office. His rapport with his assistant is pure comedy. (b) he is fastidious, and makes sure that the patient’s teeth are *exactly* right. Not «perfect» like chiclets, but realistic, and matching the surrounding teeth. © if you want to know his level of work… it was good enough to be an instructor for many years at a dental schoo. I can’t speak highly enough about him! If you need a tooth repaired or anything cosmetic, go to him!
