If I could give this restaurant zero stars, I would. We were in town for St. Pat’s weekend looking for a place to have breakfast. We thought this was a safe choice since it is part of Hilton hotels. Most of our party had the breakfast bar, which was OK but overpriced for the quality of food. Two people in our party asked if they could have eggs over easy with the buffet and were told yes. One person in our party ordered pancakes from the menu. After 30 minutes, the pancakes and eggs still had not been served. They finally brought the pancakes(which were cold) and one of the fried eggs. We asked about the bacon that was supposed to be a part of the pancakes and the other fried egg. They said they would be out soon. Another 15 minutes later they served these. Service was horrible and the food was below average. I would not recommend this restaurant.

I went here for Restaurant Week with girlfriends. There was maybe one other party at the restaurant; it was pretty dead. The waiter was quite a comedian making snippy remarks here and there, but the food was good!

I’ve had better. For the price, I’ve had much better. For lunch, the service was OK, but the dishes were dirty, and a foreign substance was in the scallops dish. The porkchops were dry and didnt meld with the vinaigrette. The appetizer salads were typical. Eh.

We went here on 8÷18÷10 for the Restaurant Week deal. We got in and there was nobody else dining, but by the end of the meal 4 other tables joined us. It was nice to have the place to ourselves, not creepy like a previous reviewer suggested. The Décor was a little tacky and I was not a fan of having to get a key to the bathroom every time I needed to go. Otherwise everything was spectacular. She had Chilled Pea with Mint Soup to start and was happy with it. I had the Mesclun lettuces with balsamic vinaigrette, shaved Prosciutto and grilled peaches, it was a flavorful experience. The hot grilled peaches were a special treat to compliment an otherwise standard salad. She had GRILLEDSWORDFISH With an orange, fig and mint coulis, haricots verts and balsamic glaze on Mediterranean couscous. The fish was fresh and grilled to satisfaction. I had ROASTRACKOFLAMB: With smoked mozzarella and basil raviolis, eggplant — olive caponata, asparagus and demi-glaze. I asked for the lamb cooked medium rare and actually got it, a rarity anywhere you go if you ask me. The Raviolis were special, i could eat a full plate of those alone. I very much enjoyed this dish and challenge you to have a negative experience with it. We both had the Strawberry Shortcake to end the meal. It was served in a cake style. It was good, not great. The service was top notch. We did order a bottle of Pino Grigio and that was also quite good. We ordered wine because they only had 3 beers on tap and nothing was exciting after coming from Boston Beer Works. I’d give this place a chance. It’s very expensive for a normal meal though, not the sort of place we would go on a regular basis. Their lunch menu did have«$ 17 Panini» no mention of a hand job or rape. I think it’s implied in the Hilton Brand though.

OK this review is just for the breakfast that 2 stranded travelers had when we arrived in Boston too dang early to check in to our hotel. Searched on Open Table for a nearby breakfast-wound up here. Not usually a fan of hotel breakfasts, I wanted to stay away from the $ 22 buffet. I LOVED my blueberry pancakes. surprise, surprise. Fluffy and big and firm but not chewy, with generous actual berries not those weird fake blue blobs. Ham was thin and tasty, not oversalty and overfatty like most places. Custom omelette came out delicious too. Really busy but service was great. Started out day out well.

To celebrate I invited the girls out for a special anniversary work luncheon. Their pick was Caliterra Lounge. They have been before and was looking forward to another visit. Although we had a nice visit and chatted about a variety of topics I was surprised at how terrible our lunch went. The food was OK but the overall service was terrible. I’ll have to take their word that it was better before but I was sadly disappointed! The dining room is nice(although the outside is undergoing some renovations). We went early and were seated quickly and given the menus. However, the menu was for breakfast and not for lunch so we asked for lunch. We really didn’t know who our waiter was since there were three different people shuffling around and it was quite confusing. After looking at the lunch menu and the menu with the daily specials we were told that the daily specials were wrong and were for next week. Those were removed but we didn’t get a new one with«this week’s» specials. We wanted to order but didn’t know who to ask so we waited. The Calamari appetizer was a good portion with two different side sauces. This was cooked very well and although it was fried it was not heavy and greasy. It came mixed with a hot pepper but it had just a slight tang and not a kick and it went well together. I would say there was enough for 2 or maybe even 3 if people wanted to share. It could have been a nice light lunch with a side salad. Our entrees came and the presentation was wonderful. The open beef sandwich, the seafood pasta, and the lobster Cobb salad. The all looked great and I was surprised at the tower of food before me. I have not had a salad in a tier. The top had a few pieces of lettuce layered with yellow and red baby tomatoes and avocado which was more like a guac sauce. There was quite a bit of lobster with good sized pieces. The dressing was decorated along the side of the plate. The look was much more impressive than the taste. The lobster had good flavor but the overall salad was lacking. I have not ordered a Cobb salad with only 3 pieces of greens before. I would not order it again. A gentlemen at another table had ordered a chicken Caesar salad which looked great and the girls had comment on how good that salad was. We had to ask different people several time for refills on water, straws and such. After we had finished and the pasta was wrapped up to go our check was dropped off. The waiter whizzed by with it and we took him by surprise when we asked to see the dessert menu and order dessert. He took our check back and brought the dessert menu. Back again he took one order for dessert and left the table again as the two of us called back out to him to say we also wanted to order dessert. He took our order and left. Back again to tell us the«warm» fruit compose was not available. Hmmm but they had strawberries. OK then she will have the strawberries. She was served cold sliced strawberries with a spoon of ice cream. Far different from a warm fruit dessert for almost $ 6.00 bucks. My cheesecake looked nice but it was dry without much flavor. The Crème Brule looked typical nothing fancy. We also noticed that although there were 3 different people moving about there was really only one waiter taking care of all the various tables. The manager was helping to bus food to the tables and things were just simply off. With so many places to select from I doubt I will be back anytime soon.

Go Elsewhere. The food is ok… the service was pitiful and the wine selection was nothing to write home about. The entire time you just feel like you wish you were somewhere else. For an appetizer we had the Lobster Bisque… there were no hunks of lobster, and there was A LOT of it. Usually this would make me happy, but it was almost to much for a «cup» of soup. For dinner I had a flank stank that I ordered medium rare, and it came medium well at best. My friend had the shrimp and butternut squash ravioli. She said it was ok… I tasted one. not great. For Desert we had cheese cake… pretty sub par, the raspberry sauce served with it was pretty good! While there were only about 10 others in the restaurant, an awful lot of things hit the floor which was really distracting. Our waiter broke the cork with the first bottle of wine, and had a REALLY hard time with the second. It let out a huge embarrassing POP! A total fine dinning Faux Pas. It was not all that enjoyable… For the money we spent, I really wish we had just went to Umbria up the street with the 2 hour wait on a Thursday!!!

I’ll be honest — as a local I felt a little weird dining in the Hilton. Not that I have anything against hotel restaurants(some are simply divine. Clink? holla.) but this one felt way more touristy. The food was good. The bar was 50% full. The dining room was 10% full. On a Friday night. At 8pm. A little strange… Probably won’t be back unless someone I know is a guest at the hotel.

This is located off the lobby of the Hilton. Breakfast buffet is always great, but the service can be suspect… as was the case this morning. We got downstairs around 10 am and had to wait 15 minutes or so to get seated. It was a bit frustrating because we could see plenty of empty tables, and no one cleaning them. They did have coffee available(Katie loved it, I didn’t care because I don’t drink it). After we were seated, we headed up to the buffet. It was good but you could tell they were very busy and had a hard time keeping up. They were out of a few items, and others were only partially warm. It took FOREVER to get any drinks once we arrived back at the table. In addition, the place was unusually dirty and unkept. Kind of disappointing, but understandable since it was New Years day. 2 Full Breakfast Buffet 44.00 2 Child Buffet 11.00 Total — $ 58.85 ** **Good thing I am Hilton Diamond and breakfast was free(except for the tip)

The food was alright, but the service was fantastic. Everyone was super friendly, from the valet to the host to the server & his helpers. The server knew how to serve properly(except he didn’t let me taste the wine before serving it). Not much of an atmosphere — it was empty on a Thursday night. But to that point, we didn’t feel rushed, and we could hear each other talk. We went for Restaurant Week. Started with the lobster bisque, which I really liked. I then had the salmon with raviolis & veggies. The salmon was tasty, not so much on the raviolis though. Dessert was chocolate cake, which was good, but not fabolous. Again, the food isn’t amazing, but it wasn’t bad, and I was impressed by the service.

I had planned a weekday spa day and wanted to place near the Rowe’s Wharf Spa to have a fancy lunch so chose Caliterra since me and my bf had not been. We arrived almost before noon and we sat at the bar. It was a weekday so the crowd was all business in the dining area. The server was really nice and we were definately taken care of the whole time. Here is what I had: Lump Crab cake with baby arugula and spicy tarter sauce– VERY good. It was one of the best crab cakes I’ve ever had and was really all crab with mininum filler. Nice presentation with the greens. Caliterra Mac and cheese– Rock shrimp, capicola, peas, mascarpone cheese. This was good. It was a bit watery at first then thickened up as the meal went on. I have had better Macs and won’t get this again. The atmosphere is pretty. High Ceilings, bright blue glasses on the tables and nice drapery. It’s pretty spread out so would be good for a group looking for a nice meal.

As far as places go to eat in the Financial District, Caliterra takes the cake. Beginning with the bread and ending with the dessert, this place is great. I would recommend the calamari. I am a huge fan of Cobb salads and had a lobster Cobb salad here in the fall. The shear decadence of a salad with lobster, bacon, avocado, and egg makes it worth trying. My friend had the sea bass which was excellent. I had a trio of crème brulees for dessert. Three crème brulees. enough said… Definitely go here for lunch with co-workers!

I don’t know whether to give this place three or four stars. I have only been there twice and it was to partake in a networking event, not for a sit down meal. Last night was the second night I was there. I know it’s mostly a wine and hard liquor bar but I found it kind of odd that when I asked what’s on tap, the choices were Miller or Coors, Sam Adams Lager and Italian Peroni bar. Just what an odd selection. They also brought out appetizers. The spinakopita was really tasty, though not so much in the traditional sense. The chicken skewers were okay. There was also a nice selection of very tasty fruits and cheese. The thing that bothered us, though, was that they had all this cheese(plenty of soft cheese) and not a single cracker to be found anywhere! Who serves cheese without crackers? It’s like they think they’re French or something! I don’t think I could really see myself going here for a meal. It just doesn’t have enough of a vibe.
