Hit or miss. I had to stop ordering chicken and avocado there because it was more miss than hit. Usually their salads are pretty fresh, but the other day the blue cheese was old… which seems impossible since it is basically old moldy cheese. It tasted off and the texture was off, in any case. The bowls are always a good choice and the sandwiches are fine. I just can’t do the chicken anymore after too many not great experiences. Great concept here. If they could just make absolutely certain that things were fresh, especially the avocado, and if they could get maybe a little better quality chicken or cut off tough or stringy sections, I’d definitely give them 5 stars.

This place is wonderful and the food is utterly delicious. A great place to grab a good lunch or light dinner. I highly recommend it.

I guess I made the mistake of coming here right at 2pm, after the usual lunch rush. I’m pretty sure they were still open as the doors were unlocked and there were a few customers wrapping up and paying for food(I did check when I returned to my office but no times are posted on their website or Facebook). I waited at the front of the salad line for about 5 – 7 minutes for someone to take my order, or even acknowledge me. Unfortunately, none of the 5 or so employees behind the counter did… however they were all happy to keep prepping food and have conversations with each other while occasionally glancing my way. So I left. As you can see from my earlier review, I actually liked this place. Past tense. If this were the only conveyor belt salad game in town, perhaps I’d return. Unfortunately, it’s hard to get past being completely ignored when you’re the only very visible customer in the store waiting to be served. Thankfully, there are about 46 others vying for my business in the financial district, and I’d guess that at least half of them will make an attempt to acknowledge their customers. See you later!

ABSOLUTELYGROSS! I have gone a couple of times to Bailey & Sage and hygiene is not their thing. I saw several flies around the food and yesterday, one was on my salad. I called the manager and he will give me a free salad. No thank you. I’m not coming back. I checked the City of Boston Health website and they have had 4VIOLATIONS in then last few months!!!

A friend of mine had mentioned their salads were good so I thought I would give it a try. It was around 1:30 in the afternoon on a Monday and the line wasn’t too long. I ordered the Cobb Salad which cost me around $ 9 bucks and some change with tax. Not overly cheap but it’s standard pricing around the Downtown area for a salad. Packaging is awesome. Comes in a one of those lookalike Chinese takeout boxes. Looks small but when it is full, portion sizes are quite generous. It was my first time there so I didn’t have a precedence for how much dressing to put. My salad unfortunately was drenched with too much blue cheese dressing and I was only able to eat half of it without feeling gross. I probably should have just stayed at the counter and watched the guy make my salad so I could stop him before damage was done. If it wasn’t for this one miss, the salad would have been better than decent. I would go back another day but I will surely go light on the dressing next time.

Quincy Market is littered by tourist traps and high priced fast food. Bailey’s and Sage is not that — it’s my go to for lunch: huge chopped salads made to order and hot off the grill sandwiches — at little hungrier today?: throw some chicken or steak on your salad It’s amazing to me how fast the line moves even when it’s out the door — but call ahead to have your meal made without having to stand in line They also have level up

Bailey & Sages’ food is good but the service is terrible. I don’t want to have to pay attention to make sure all the ingredients that are supposed to be in my salad actually are. The past three times I’ve gone something was missing from the salad. It’s like they pick and chose what they want to put in it at that time. Aside from one or two girls, most of the employees seem pretty miserable and like they want nothing to do with the place. Again the food is good when it’s made right. Consistency really needs to be the key to a menu like that and that doesn’t seem to be going on.

I’m updating this review after having lunch here today again. Previously, I had ordered online and thought that maybe all my forgotten ingredients were due to some technical miscommunication. Unfortunately, today’s experience wasn’t much better. I ordered a Waldorf Salad with chicken(very simple) and somehow they forgot my chicken. I even went after 2pm, hoping that it would be better if I went after the lunch rush. I checked the box as soon as I got outside and realized their mistake, so I turned around and went back in to have it fixed. After a lot of confusion(they thought I wanted a whole new *Caesar* salad) they added the chicken to my Waldorf Salad. I really want Bailey & Sage’s customer service to be better than it is, because it is so damn yummy. Basically, the lesson is — watch everything that they put in your salad and don’t be afraid to double check.

After receiving a thoughtful and considerate message from Michael, I decided to go back and try one of their salads. He made a fresh grilled shrimp Cesar salad for me that was delish! Round of applause to his appreciation for his customers and great service!

This place is always packed. There is always a line for salad. Love chopped salads more than any other salads– the homogeneity of a salad somehow tricks you into eating lettuce. pretty expensive though… and my salad most likely has more calories than a big mac. the big mac of salads i guess. but it tastes great!

Salads and sandwiches made like from pretty much an assembly line for the lunch crowd. Had the 100% All Natural Grilled Chicken and it was delicious enough that it almost put me to sleep during a work meeting. Service was nice and quick and if you come in a group, call ahead!

I have a very narrow view of Bailey & Sage, because I get the same exact thing every time I go — a custom grilled chicken wrap — but it’s always great. Yes, it’s simple — a tortilla, swiss cheese, chicken, veggies, honey mustard. But it’s so consistently good. The service is quick, I don’t think prices are that outrageous(something like $ 6.95 for a custom wrap) and the sandwich line is non-existent because everyone else is getting a salad. I have to talk up the grilled chicken like a few other people have because it blows all the Cosi’s/Sebastian’s/Au Bön Pain/make your own salad places out of the water. Freshly grilled, warm, not gristle-y, perfectly cooked. They do it right. And when I ask for double chicken, they don’t skimp. So thanks, Bailey & Sage, you are my new fave in the Financial District.

Tried this place out yesterday as I was walking by looking for some lunch. What caught my eye was that the salads were chopped which happens a lot in NYC but seldom in Boston so I was immediately hooked. I got the chicken and goat cheese salad. It was fine, not great, but ok. My biggest issue with the place was the containers they serve the salads in. While on the outside they appear to be neat«Chinese food» containers in reality are awful. The salad dressing is all over the top of the container and the way the top opens it makes it hard to eat without getting salad dressing all over your hands and clothes. My solution was to cut off the flaps but then my scissors were covered in oil. I’m not that close to the place so I’m not sure if I’ll be back. Had the salad been excellent I would surely take the extra couple of blocks to purchase but at the moment I’m not so sure.

Overpriced and terrible customer service. The line moves quickly, but the salads are seldom made with all the right advertised ingredients and the staff is straight up rude and unhelpful. I’d recommend going around the corner to Boston Kebab if you want a good salad.

This place’s special is SALAD! for salad lovers, they have all kinds made well. My favorite was the steakhouse salad. Im giving it 3 stars because these salads are too darn expensive. I used to work at State street in boston for 2 years and i would go there once a week at least. If salads were less than $ 9, i probably would’ve gone there everyday. Each year, sometimes seni-anually, they would be sneak and raise prices. No warnings whatsoever. Many of my co-workers stopped going there due to prices. Anyway, 3 stars. Work on prices and you might just be one of the best places for lunch in Boston! Philippe

amazing salads. That always seems like an oxymoron, but they do them right here. I just wish their service was a bit friendlier, but hey, it’s whatevs.

I love this place. Sure the salads are a little pricey but who are we kidding? Take a look around — it’s the Financial District… in Boston! A lot to think about here, folks. Anyways — I appreciate Bailey & Sage for their freshly tossed salads. I typically order the Greek salad — sometimes adding chicken(no olives), and it’s great. Salads are made to order and the chicken is freshly cooked there. Other salad places tend to have previously frozen, cubed, strange, foreign, chewy chicken. Yuck! You can taste the freshness in the grilled chicken at Bailey & Sage — two thumbs up. While I don’t think this place is worthy of running home to tell mom about I’ll definitely be back based on convenience and freshness of the products.

I’m surprised to see some of the negative reviews for Bailey & Sage… I just finished my salad(first time customer), and I was delighted! Not sure if they changed some things, but during the prep phase, each of my veggies was scooped in with a different scoop, so that’s one problem eliminated(not that I even care — 99% of chopped salad places use the«toss it in the bowl with the tongs» method). Price is about $ 2 higher than I would hope for; the salad is a decent portion but it’s not huge. My ingredients were fresh and delicious, and I’m not always a fan of chicken(my mind goes to chewy, fatty, and cubed once-frozen chunks of nasty), but this chicken was hot, freshly chopped, and juicy. The service was great! The line was long but there were plenty of employees expediting the process. I probably waited 4 full minutes. The server who made my salad was very friendly, fast, and got everything I wanted. Checkout was fast. The staff is running around all over the place to make these salads so there’s a lot of interaction, and the staff is pretty young so it’s a more relaxed atmosphere… But it’s supposed to be! That stuff doesn’t bother me because I’m getting A SALAD. FORLUNCH. FROM A TAKEOUTONLYPLACE. I’m not ordering a filet and a bottle of wine. Five stars for flavor and great service. Minus one star for no seating and cost. Regardless, I’ll be back — it was yummy!

So how does a shop go from 2 stars to 5 in my book? Sincerity. I came back a second time towards the end of the lunch rush today, and was greeted by a very enthusiastic staff – their energy was contagious. I also had the pleasure of meeting the owner, Michael, who chatted amiably with me while I waited for my salad. I found out he’s spent a lot of time training his staff since reading the Unilocalers’ feedback. While most owners I know tend to despise Unilocalers :(, Michael was very much concerned – his reasoning being that Unilocalers have no incentive to dole out bias reviews(sorry girls of Unilocal,he’s married). I ordered a grilled shrimp caesar this time around, and was politely asked if I’d mind the 2 minute wait for fresh grilled shrimp – of course not! Surprisingly the salad made it back to my office in one piece where it was thoroughly enjoyed. Evenly and perfectly dressed, giant shrimps throughout, and surprisingly affordable for something with seafood. I’m so glad to see the changes Michael has made, and the sincerity in which Bailey and Sage is ran. I might have to ditch my usual mediterranean fare and become a regular here.
