Amy Lowell Apartments

I have lived here for the almost 6 months and am very pleased! The apartment building is quiet and the residents are all very friendly! For the price (I pay market rent), I couldn’t be happier.
The office staff are very nice and seem to know all residents by name. It’s a nice, friendly touch. They were also very helpful and accommodating in the rental application and leasing process.
The population in the building is very diverse, from children to elderly. If you’re young and looking for a young population, this probably isn’t the place for you. As a young working professional myself, I am thankful to have such courteous and quiet neighbors.
The only negative that I can come up with would be the traffic/​train noise. It took a couple weeks to adjust to, but it’s not like I didn’t know about it before moving in; I was shown my exact unit when I was shown the apartment. This seems to really only be an issue for the North facing units, as well.

This is a terrible place to live for the following reasons:
1. The train and highway noise is unbearable. Really its not worth any amount of rent.
2. There are market rent apartments and subsidized. The people in the subsidized are not always the nicest (ex: i had my stuff stolen from laundry basket).
3. The water pipe broke down leaking 6 floors down. They placed 5 huge noisy fans in my apartment and at first somehow expected me to deal with and mandated i keep them on. I was finally able to get them to pay for a hotel, but they still made me stay on night in that place when I was paying market rent.
4. Its a former elderly and disabled home so its filled with elderly. The elderly women were actually quite sweet, but the elderly men were rude and entitled. I have nothing against disabled, but im sorry why would i pay $ 2k+ for that?
5. The management would not respond to emails and calls, They pretend to be nice at first then do not care at all even when they mistakenly send you an eviction notice claiming you didnt pay, but you did.
You will hate it here if you are paying market rent. Dont do it. You have been warned.
