Wow! I just gave a bridge a «3» but let me ‘splain…see, there’s nothing really special or characteristic about this bridge unlike the bridges that are built across the mighty Mississippi… As the name notes this bridge crosses the Red River which separates Caddo Parish from Bossier Parish, Shreveport from Bossier City… while the Red is a great river we all know it ain’t no Mississippi, so there most likely wasn’t a need for huge cool bridge… This is a utilitarian concrete bridge that takes you across the Red whether you’re heading east or west on I 20… Now what’s cool about this bridge is crossing it at night when all the Casinos and Riverboats are lit up and downtown Shreveport don’t look too bad either… makes for quite a site especially if you’re the passenger in the vehicle crossing the bridge. If you’re the driver don’t be worrying about the sights and keep your damn eyes on the road cause this is a busy bridge and as on most bridges that are heavily traveled traffic tends to slow… I get a peaceful feeling when I cross it when I head back north, especially at night, cause I know somewhere in those two towns I got some compadres that will be willing to tip a few back and talk a little smack and maybe want to go chase some skirt. It feels like… coming home
