In my twenty years of existing on this earth, I have never been happy with any haircut I have ever gotten. Until now. After avoiding the scissors for quite a while, I booked an appointment at Sonya Salon with Michelle and it may have been the best decision of my life.
Although I went in with no plan, I came out with gorgeous subtle layers in my hair while retaining all of my length (my only request!). I know, it sounds so crazy that no hairstylist before could ever manage to do something so simple.
Michelle spoke to me like I was one of her friends rather than a client, and she truly matched my hair to my personality. She’s got a customer for life.

Wonderful hair salon! My husband is military and when I moved here in June after finishing college I went to the on-​base salon at McGuire since that was the only place I knew. I had an unpleasant experience and did not like how the last person cut my hair. She made my layers choppy which did not work for my curly hair. So, I did some googling and found Sonya’s salon. The owner Tanya is very nice and I met with her first and she did a great job and helped to get my layers as back into shape as she could, but then she recommended that I go with Michelle as she felt she would be better suited for me. I love Michelle! She always does a wonderful job and makes me feel great. She has been working with the layers and we have finally got them to a good place. We also have a lot in common and it’s like going to a friend rather than a stylist; would definitely recommend Michelle at Sonya’s.

I got my nails done there for the first time, and I loved it. The service was excellent, very friendly staff, and the place is very cozy and welcoming.

Great customer service, and great skills! Felt very welcomed as a new client and the product prices were reasonable. Looking forward to my next service!

I have been going to Michelle since January and she is absolutely Amazing!!!
I moved to NJ from SC less then year ago and had a bad experience with Salon Artigiano but Then I came to Michelle at Sonya Salon and Spa and she took care of my hair like the Pro that she is :). I am very picky with my stylists because my hair is very thick and it grows so quick, but she has gotten to know me and what I like and I don’t even have to tell her what to do anymore, she just goes lol.
This place is small, but it is very welcoming and the minute you walk in, you feel right at home!
I recommended three other ladies now and they both have very good things to say about this place and of course of Michelle.
The ladies at Sonya Salon and Spa are defiantly an awesome team, they truly Rock!

Anna is the best! I have been going to her for many years and there is no one I trust to touch my hair but her. She is always so upbeat and professional, a delight to be around. She colors my hair and the work she does is incredible!
Sonya Salon & Spa is a hidden gem in Bordentown! The staff is always so warm and inviting and the atmosphere is great! I highly recommend this salon and spa.

I have been under the expert scissors of Tanya (Anna) since I was 16. In those years my hair has been the envy of every person who knows me. I wash it at night and simply sleep on it wet. I wake up with gorgeous wavy curls — no work required.
After so much time I started to get cocky — «maybe I just have perfect hair and the cut doesn’t matter» — so I visited another very high profile salon (at well over 150 for the cut alone). Well I walked out and was happy — she had used the attachment on the blow-​dryer that makes your hair curly and my hair got huge. I felt like a rock star… until I washed it. It wouldn’t fall correctly. some of my hair was suddenly oddly straight and none of it would curl properly. I cried every morning for weeks. So I waited, ashamed, until it grew out a bit to return to my beloved Tanya (Anna). She put my locks right. She always does. I have never since seen another stylist — never even entertained the idea.
She hasn’t asked what I want done to my hair in years. She just starts clipping (after a fabulous wash of course) and before I know it I’m gorgeous again. My family sees her now because she is amazing and super cheap (I always tip around 100% because she’s worth it and even that is more affordable than those snobby salons) .
Anyway — I always know I’ve gotten a great cut from her because if I go to the mall or out to eat the day of my haircut… men literally follow me around to ask my name. I swear it doesn’t even surprise me anymore.
Furthermore — she also has adorable pictures of her son and she’s a wonderful conversationalist. Just doesn’t get better. I still drive 3 hours to get my hair done with her — I won’t go see anybody else.
I am so thrilled she finally opened her own place. She totally deserves it! :)
