I was not in the market for books, but my wife and adults kids were when we visited. Other than the lack of AC, making for a hot room, they were ecstatic. Loads of great buys on books and friendly staff. Support the public library and find some bargains for your home library, as well.

Books friends and libraries The Friends of the Library is a used book store that helps to support the Boothbay Library. Roughly twenty percent of the library’s budget is achieved from proceeds that the bookstore sells. The bookstore of course if fueled by donations and most of the books are paperbacks sold for only fifty cents. A few other items are scattered around but the cheap paperbacks makes up the majority of the inventory, All kinds of the usual paperbacks are found inside, mysteries, mushy stuff, sci-fri, westerns. Lots of really popular stuff but some occasional weird and arcane books. The store is located in a cool old house and is a very pleasant place browse around and look for books. The books are somewhat organized but you never know what you are going to find in a certain area. The store is staff by very friendly volunteers. that are ready to chat about books, the town, the weather or the increasing price of rutabagas. A very cool little used bookstore that serves a very useful purpose for both the library and anyone in search of a cheap read.
