Sad to hear about the poor reviews… My stay was great. My room was quaint and clean, the place is beautiful, and the staff was friendly. I wasn’t there for the spa, so I can’t comment on that. We ate at the restaurant(which closed at 9.) we told them we’d be arriving around 8:30, and they were really happy to serve us, even though it was late. The dinner service was kinda slow, but thoughtful, and they were very patient to serve us so late. My only complaint about my stay was less-than-luxurious linens: thin sheets and wimpy towels. But for the price, it was MORE than adequate. I would definitely come back!

This place is beautiful. Nice, clean rooms– amazing views. Fun indoor pool(although a little chilly), ping pong table, air hockey and a nice Continental breakfast in the gorgeous dining room. Bed very comfortable, rooms not giant but plenty big enough. Would definitely stay here again.

Yuck. the queen, King, master, and grandfather suites/villas are outdated and disgusting… We originally had the master villa but could not accept the outdated conditions of the room and had to upgrade to cottage#3. The cottage had mice in the kitchen area. Save your money and go somewhere else…

Unfortunately, I have to add another poor review to their list. The views and location are very picturesque BUT that’s where my positive experience ends. We are at their breakfast buffet… What a complete disappointment! We arrived at 9am(closes at 10am). No hot food left. Just toast and fruit loops were the only thing remaining. We waited for 25 min and had some coffee but no other food arrived. I searched around for staff. The only person found was one woman that appeared from the kitchen to pick up the empty trays at the buffet table. Literally, there was NOOTHERSTAFFANYWHERE besides the one young girl working the front desk in the main office. No waiter/waitress staff, bussers… Nada. There were at least 15 – 20 guests at various tables. Some finishing up from the last remnants of food that was once there. But interestingly, most were just sitting there(like us) waiting for the next wave of food to be delivered to the buffet table, but it never came. Truly an avoidable situation had they had some staff to cook, buss tables, replenish the food, etc… I believe that the one woman we saw picking up the empty trays then disappear into the kitchen(never to be seen again) was the only person working the restaurant that morning. Very disappointing and unprofessional. Especially, since they charge you a «resort fee» which is partly for the buffet breakfast. The other part of the«resort fee» covers the«spa». Another huge disappointment. I brought my 12 yr old to the pool area and even he wasn’t interested in getting into their pool. It’s a small lap pool that was dirty and again… No staff around. Dirty wet towels laying around that were obviously there for a long time. The steam room was inop and out of service. There was also an add on room that was«under construction». Really it looked as though someone abandoned their tools and the project, to never return. Lastly, ANDTHISREALLYCHAPSMYBEHIND! I check out Sunday morning as normal… returned my keys, got a copy of my bill… Signed it and left. Three days later, I reviewed my credit card statement on line to notice an additional $ 50 charge from Crestwood Inn. I called them to inquire, why? The girl whom answered the phone looked it up and said it was a «lost keys» charge. I immediately refuted the charge. I never lost their keys. I specifically watched the young girl at the front desk take my keys and place them into a small paper envelope, like the one they were in when I checked in the previous evening. She was multi tasking with my keys, a phone call and printing my folio. However, I absolutely saw her put them into that envelope. So, after telling her my story she says that I’ll have to talk with the manager«Samantha» whom was not working that day but would be there the next day. The next day I call, ask for Samantha, I get transferred to her voicemail. I left a quick msg stating who I was and that I need her to call me about a mis charge on my bill. No call back received. I call back 2 hrs later, lo and behold… Samantha answers the phone. She tells me she was busy and didn’t have time to look into my charge. She was covering the front desk for the other girl at the time, but said she would get back to me by the end of the day(5pm). At 4:40PM, still no call. Now I’m really getting mad… They had no problem falsely charging my account for«lost keys» which they lost! But now that I’m trying to get it rectified AND it’s taking ALOT of work and aggravation on my part. So, I call again… Samantha answers again… I tell her who I am and she pauses and says. «Yesss» As if she has no clue who I am or what I want. She says she still hasn’t looked into it then started making other excuses… I immediately cut her off and started to sternly tell her my story and demanding my money back. She then says that she’s going to have to talk with the General Manager and blah blah blah… UGGGGHHHHH… I really started to lose my cool with her. Finally she says«Well sir, I will just credit your credit card $ 50 as an act of good will». What the $&@#*%!!! She basically called me a liar! Only time will tell. I will post here any future updates. I will never ever return to this place and certainly never recommend it to anyone either. They’re extremely unprofessional and short-staffed! I don’t care how wonderful the views and setting is… Avoid this place! UPDATE1Sep 2015… My $ 50 credit showed up on my cc today. So, at least she came thru with her word.

Beautiful setting, beautiful restaurant. Service was good, but I thought it was way overpriced for the food. It started with the basket of stale bread that came to our table, along with butter that had sugar in it. I wanted to send it back in a Ramseyesque fashion, but the waitress was nice and young. The fried green tomato BLT came on a bun and was piled so high it was hard to eat without being messy. Tasted fine. I was disappointed with the fries which seemed like they were industrial. The ketchup(I dispise ketchup) was sloppily put into a side dish and nearly touched my sandwich. For a fancy place I would have expected them to have a different sauce available for my fries, but they did not. Classical music was playing in the background, but I could hear different music playing from some other room beyond the dining room.

Outstanding service, beautiful restaurant with breathtaking views. We started with the blue crab fried green tomatoes– great presentation and delicious. The green tomatoes were firm with a perfectly cooked crust. I had the salmon with spinach. The salmon had a delightful fruit topping and the spinach was cooked to perfection with just the right amount of garlic. My husband had the fish and chips. The fries were cut just right and the batter on the fish was nice and light. The best part of his meal was the smoky tarter sauce. Both meals exceeded our expectations. The service was friendly and attentive. It was a lovely meal and we are glad we went. Make a reservation and request the main dining room, preferably a window seat. The bar area would be perfect to relax with a drink, but they do not serve food.

I thought I had written a review for this… guess not. Service…could be better, but not horrible. You know it’s just college kids trying to make some money… no hating. Food…we really enjoyed our meals. I’m sorry… since I thought I had written a review already — I don’t remember what we ate now, but I remember that I liked it — I think it was a bit slow coming out on a night when there were only a couple of other tables being served, but you never know what’s going on with the kitchen staff. Atmosphere…amazing… Great space, good views(before dark anyway). I think they should spend some money on lighting for dark hours to enhance the dining experience for those near the windows. I would go again, but I definitely think that the owners/management should review their game plane to focus on long term, repeat business rather than a random, college-town escape and go full out, balls to the wall luxurious dining.

I’m surprised at the bad reviews. I attended a wedding here and it was gorgeous. The food was awesome. The facilities and staff were really nice… and that view… breath taking, especially at sunrise. This is a great place to hold an event, with tons of options for mingling, dancing, and lots of options for seating arrangements.

The setting is very scenic overlooking the blue ridge mountains and is very peaceful. Wait staff are attentive and knowledgable. The menu is not overwhelming and the chef has added certain twists to common menu items. Overall a great experience and thoroughly enjoyable dinner. I look forward to going back.

Such a waste of an incredible location and view! Took visiting friends to an impressive place for what we hoped would be an enjoyable evening out. What a disaster! At 9:30, after TWOHOURS of waiting for our entrees to show up, we chose to leave and head home for whatever we could find in the fridge! During our wait, service and communication were scarce. We asked to speak with the manager more than once and were finally told as we left the restaurant that he was too busy cooking and couldn’t leave the kitchen! Needless to say, I will not return and will actively encourage others not to waste their time either – until there is a management change and a track record that equals the incredible setting which they are so fortunate to have! All I can think is, what a waste! What a waste!

Amazing service and delicious entrées. My fiancé and I made reservations one night while staying at the Crestwood Resort. A few nasty reviews on here had me skeptical but I can say that we both walked away very happy and very full. The 8 oz filet mignon was so tender and so juicy it was almost melting in my mouth. My fiancé had the catch of the day which happened to be jambalaya and she absolutely loved it. For dessert we shared a piece of cheese cake topped with a raspberry glaze. I would definitely recommend this place if you’re looking to do some fine dining while in the area.

Incredibly disappointing. The meal was just average, waitstaff not attentive and the décor very worn AND the manager was arrogant. The best part about this place is the view. We won. t be going back…

We ate at The Table at Crestwood the week after Labor Day. It was during a promotions called Small Plate Crawl which was sponsored by the independent restaurants in the Boone and Blowing Rock area. A band was entertaining on the patio that over looks the beautiful mountains. We started out there, but moved indoors when the sun went down and it got cold. Our food, which was slow to arrive, was okay, but our check never came, and we waited and waited and waited. Once it came, the tax was mis-calulated. We were charged the NC hotel occupant tax apparently, which is much higher than the meal tax. A tax of nearly 20% had been added to our bill! It took forever for the management to straighten that out and present the correct bill. We added an appropriate tip and signed the charge slip, and waited and waited and waited for the waiter to collect it then return our credit cards. It was not an enjoyable evening, and we probably won’t return to The Table at Crestwood.

I have tried. Over and over, I have tried. I want to love this place. Or at least like it. But, they fall short every single time. Not just short, they trip over themselves because the expectation is so low. The view is absolutely 5 stars. Hence, why I continue to try to like this place. Their menu looks delicious. Looks delicious. How have thee disappointed me? Let me count the ways: brought a large group of girls here as I was hosting a girls’ weekend and this place is gorgeous and close to where we were staying. I ordered the sweet potato spring rolls… sound delicious, right? They came out frozen. As did several of our other meals. Several girls ordered martinis… but, they were out of olives. When it was time for our check, we could not find our server. And, I literally mean, we fanned out ;looking for her. Once we found her, the whole ordeal was a fiasco… Thank goodness we were the only party there or we might never have gotten out of there. Ok, so that sounds harsh… my husband and I enjoyed a bottle of wine on the outdoor terrace, which is lovely. Truly. No one ever checked on us. When we tried to pay we could not find anyone to pay. Seriously. We had to leave a note on the bar with our phone number. They never called. We called 2 times trying to pay, each time we were told that someone would call us back. Every time we have been there the service has been horrid. I have heard it is under new ownership… I hope so! It is a shame, because the view is truly spectacular. We noticed their«sunset drinks tonight» sign and pulled in last night… what can I say, I am a sucker for a good view, and on Labor Day weekend, the patio and lounge were closed for a wedding. Again, just a really odd business decision. And disappointing to us.(Once we were there when a wedding was going on and our server encouraged us to go outside and eat off of their buffet… wedding crasher? not!) If a view is all you care about and I mean ALL you care about, give this place a whirl. But, sadly, my Crestwood trials and errors are over :(
