I have to say I am a big fan of Blowing Rock Brewing Company. As far as local counties, this place has some of the best food. For the most part, it’s naturally made(it’s hard to say pub food is naturally made so this is good news). The taste of this food is wonderful. Service has always been wonderful. Pricing is fair, actually good in respects to most places. It seems they care a lot about their food and what goes into it. Beer is good too! I never leave this place disappointed. Keep up the good work!

Great local hangout to chill and enjoy unique variety of food. Loved the tomato bisque soup and pretzels with gouda cheese and spicy mustard. The hubby got a clam Po boy and devoured it. My only complaint is that the menu is on the smaller side and a bit eccentric. Foodies will love it. Picky eaters, not so much.

Fried chicken sandwitch is a must. My friend had bison and had a bite of his. Still I would go for fried chicken sandwitch. Meat was juicy and chewy. Chopped onions and jalapino with mayo dressing were refreshing. The atmosphere was welcoming and our server was super friendly.

Great beer selection from such a small place. You will find about anything that suits you. While they have a limited menu, everything we had was really good. The Bison burger was by far the best!

My husband and I ordered the Bison burger and I must admit it’s been one of the best burgers I’ve had in a while. Beer selection in good as well if you like IPAs, they were a bit bitter for my taste. Place has nice décor and a very cozy and welcoming feel. Definitely will be returning when we’re in the Boone area.

Super cute brew house with amazing food. The beer was great. The atmosphere was quaint and on such a nice day a great place to sit outside. The line to order at the bar was kind of slow, as was the line for the one bathroom. I would really like to come back and enjoy some more beers in this little house. Try the poutine.

Stopped in the Blowing Rock Brewery round 2pm when we pulled into town. The atmosphere was great and they gave us access to the tv for the Panthers Game which was perfect. We sat by the fire in a front room. My husband got the bison burger and it was cooked to perfection. I had the kale and soup. It was great but too small of a portion. I would have liked either the soup or the salad larger. Also the meal was really slow to deliver but we recognize it was a weird time to eat lunch. The beer was good. We got the the light option.

Love this place! Every single time I’m in Blowing Rock, I make a point to stop in here. The fried chicken sandwich is the BEST thing on the menu. The soup of the day is always great! I go here just for that and a Scotch ale. I have never had a bad meal here. The place is tiny, which is seriously the only negative. But I really love the coziness of it. On a holiday weekend, it can be a tough spot to get into for lunch. Well worth the wait. Check out where they brew some of the beer in the back. It’s a fun little tour.

Good food, great atmosphere, even the kids meals looked delish. It’s a closed kinda cramped feel if the place is busy as it’s a bunch of rooms.

Stopped in during the busy Fall leaf watching season. Encourage everyone to get a reservation in advance. Luckily the front porch wasn’t busy or cold(yet) so we sat there. Service was decent and accommodating so no big complaints, just wish things had been a little more timely and not charge for extra chips for the dip.(Really?!) other than that I totally dig the vibe of this place and will try to make it back on a better less busy day and hang out for awhile. Looks like they have a small stage out front too so we’re curious of their schedule and lineup.

If you are looking for good service, look elsewhere! This place is tired and needs help. Apparently having good service is a thing of the past. Our dinner started off slow and ended up slower. We had to leave while they were packing up my meal and we should have left the meal with them. It was horrible! This may have been a bad night for the server«Britanny» but it was the worst impression of this business for us! Our food took too long, our beers weren’t that good, I ended up with the wrong order and then had to wait for the waitress to come by and realize it was the wrong order. Then it took another 20 minutes to get my correct meal. By then I had payed the bill and took the dinner to go. Poor service!!!

I came in here for dinner with my parents one evening and thought the food was great! This food is in an entirely different realm than traditional bar food. This is more of a gastro-pub experience. We started with the pretzel appetizer which consists of two large soft pretzels accompanied by Lusty Monk«Original Sin» mustard and a smoked gouda beer cheese. The pretzels arrived piping hot and the mustard was extremely flavorful and definitely hot enough to clear your sinuses! The beer cheese was flavorful and a good consistency for dipping. I ordered the bison burger for dinner upon my father’s recommendation. It is served with tomato jam, smoked mozzarella, peppered bacon and grilled onions and was just fantastic. I worry sometimes when I see a burger presented with some type of jam because that often overwhelms everything else, but this burger was warm, juicy and the accompaniments were in just the right proportion to each other to offer a taste explosion in your mouth with hints of all the flavors. This is one of the best burgers I have ever had. The only drawback to the meal were the fries that came with the burger. They were WAY to salty ~ and I’m a salt freak. I put ground sea salt on EVERYTHING. I can’t imagine what they would have tasted like to someone who tries to limit salt in their diet. Other than that, I would highly recommend having a bite to eat there. I am not a big beer drinker, so I’m afraid I’m no help on that end, but the craft beer menu looked extensive. If they put the same effort and imagination into their beer as their food, I can only imagine they are extremely good.

You know a place is special when you take two meals at the same place on a long weekend in a Tourist town… Blowing Rock Brewing Company is truly something special. Let’s start with the beer… the beer menu is longer than the food menu. Our first night it town, I could only sample one of the selections, but I knew I wanted more. So, I came back and tried two more. Needless to say… the beer was good. So that food menu is short for a reason… it’s carefully curated to only include spectacular selections that the gourmet chef can knock out of the park. It’s one thing for a microbrewery to have good beer, it’s a whole new ballgame if it has gourmet food to match. I HIGHLY recommend the poutine, which probably ranks on my top 3 poutines I’ve ever had. I mean… it had gourmet, fresh cut fries with bacon and bits of duck in it. What else would a midwestern foodie ask for? The décor is great. Like all of the buildings in Blowing Rock, it’s in a converted early 20th century home. So it has a lot of the homey qualities to it. It’s just the right amount of rustic.

The food, beer, and atmosphere were a winning combination at Blowing Rock Brewing Company. This property has an inn, brewery, and restaurant. We did stay at the inn and have a meal at the Ale House. The food was ridiculously good. It is a small, seasonal menu with locally sourced ingredients incorporated. The standout for me was the flatbread appetizer. The flatbread was grilled and then loaded up with a plethora of delicious toppings and cheeses. The olives and ricotta cheese were bangin! It was easily one of my all time favorite appetizers! I ordered the bison burger with fries as my meal. The bison burger was respectable and was nicely cooked. I’ve never been a huge fan of bison, but I wanted to branch out and try something new. The mozzerella on the burger added a very unique smokey flavor. The fries were a little oily and soggy. I prefer a most crisp French fry. Blowing Rock’s Summer Ale and Pilsner were my favorite beers. The rooms for the inn were located on the second floor, above the ale house. I was very pleased with our room. It was a nice size and was decorated in a vintage, antique style. The inn didn’t have central AC but our room did have a window unit which did a fine job keeping the room cool. The bed and linens were comfy. The only area I think that could be improved on would be the bathroom. Now, the best part of our experience was the people. Everyone we encountered who worked at the inn, ale house, and brewery were all very warm and welcoming! My only regret was not coming on a day that offered tours of the brewery!

We had a super great experience at Blowing Rock Brewing Co for lunch. We came in with a large party before the lunch rush. The servers were so nice about accommodating our 11 person group in a small side room off the main entrance. As the restaurant continued to fill up, we were given the time and space to relax and enjoy a leisurely lunch. From start to finish, they treated us so well and even split our checks(no easy feat for a group this size). The food was very good as well. Blowing Rock can feel a bit stuffy to me, but this place feels so relaxed. People were eating with their dogs out front and everyone was having a great time enjoying the food, the beer and the sunshine. I look forward to coming back for another visit!

Okay, so I’ve had their beer before and been to their new place in Hickory, American Honor Alehouse. So why did I stop here? Because I love it when taprooms open at 11AM — who in the hell wants to wait until 5PM(unless you have to) to drink good beer? Also, and foremost, I really like their beer. In the immortal words of Jim Carrey in Dumb and Dumber, «I like it. I like it a lot.» Red Rider and Hop on and Ride from the American Honor Series are great. Ditto on the Stout. The Mountain Shadow Black IPA is a five star beer that I can drink by the growler full. The taproom has a really nice lodge feel to it. I’ve not eaten there but the Bison Burger is supposed to be the way to go. If you make a mini brew tour to the Boone area this place will be on your way coming or going. Stop by and check it out!

My husband and I visited Blowing Rock while on the way to Appalachian State. We chose this restaurant based upon Unilocal reviews It’s cozy! Nice place to catch the latest on TV for sports in the bar area. There are ceiling fans, wood ceilings… really neat atmosphere! Service was actually quite good. Waitress(Parker) was at our table within a couple minutes of arriving. She gave us the specials, the beers that were available, very helpful. Based upon reviews, we ordered the Bison burger with fries and the fried chicken sandwich with the Quinoa side. The chicken sandwich wins, hands down. The crunch of the cole slaw, the cheese, etc made this a sandwich to remember. The quinoa salad was just ok((missing a sweet or tart ‘pop’, kinda bland). The bison burger was good but overcooked; our bacon was even burnt. If this is the speciality of the house, attention owner, need some QA here. Lastly the fried were grease laden and soggy. Pictures included! All up with two drinks each the bill was $ 55. Honestly amazing deal here, so ended on a happy note.

This is my absolute favorite place to eat in Blowing Rock. I feel like my visit here is incomplete until I dine here. My friend and i came here today for lunch. We ate outside since the weather was pleasant and despite being crowded we were seated quickly. I ordered the Farmhouse Peach Ale, a seasonal beer with just a hint of sweetness. I ordered the duck confit sandwich with fries. The sandwich had fantastic flavor… the meat was moist and flavorful, with a small heap of slaw on top and a soft tasty bun. The fries come in a small, cute basket and are thin shoestrings. They are simply seasoned with chunky salt, pepper, and a hint of garlic. I always ask for the spicy ketchup, which is sweet with a lovely bite to it. Our service was great. The waiter was very knowledgeable and friendly. Like I said, I always come visit BRBC when I’m in town and every single dish I have ordered has been delicious.

We made the trip over to Blowing Rock to take in the sights and quaintness of the downtown area. A friend recommended another eatery. Turns out it was a bit further from where we were. With limited public parking we decided to stick to the core downtown area. While my Wife was in a shop I surveyed the options. Blowing Rock Brew co. quickly emerged. So we ventured round the block. The old home serves as a great backdrop to the restaurant with bar and outdoor seating. If you have a group of six try getting the table on the back patio… it looked like a really intimate setting for a group of friends or family. We started and the bar with a Chocolate Stout and Peach Ale both are great brews with little bitterness. We were quickly seated at a table. The waitress was happy to share that many of the items are house made like the ketchup/mayonaise. in addition nothing is frozen. We order the Bison burger and Southern fried chicken sandwich. Both sandwiches were delicious and served with fresh cut fries. If you ever near Blowing Rock it’s worth a stop.

My goodness what an exceptional time here at Blowing Rock Brewery! I have always been a fan of their beer, but only see it on shelves or on tap every now and then around the Charlotte area. But it’s all good, I probably met my quota for the next year! So the wife and I wanted to get away for the weekend, I initially thought the somewhere in the mountains would be a good call. I started looking things up online and luckily for me I was able to hunt down a Groupon for a reduced price brewery tour at BRB. We headed up here on a Saturday in the late afternoon and caught up with Harrison to give us the tour. This guy was pure legit. Definitely knew his stuff. And for someone who feels they have a firm grasp on brewing, I still walked away feeling dumb. We headed up to the restaurant afterwards. Fantastic. The layout of the interior is my kind of mountain bar. Cozy, quaint, what-have-you, and perfect atmosphere to talk to your neighbors. The food was phenomenal. Now, brace yourselves, there’s not much to their menu, but per what I ordered and looking around(spying) at others choices, there wasn’t a dish to scoff at. If you like burgers, or hell, even if you don’t like burgers– Try. Their. Bison. Burger. AMAZING. Generally the menu is typical bar food, but you wouldn’t be wrong to say it’s gastropub quality. The staff and service were spot on. Very friendly and very attentive. Do yourself a favor and stay at their Inn that is literally on-site. I wish we did. Then it really would’ve been a sloshfest. Just my opinion man, but hands down the best business in that main street area of Blowing Rock. Yeah there’s a mellow mushroom, but who the hell cares. Try this place. DOIT. Do the tour, order a beer– Imperial Stout on nitro. Bam. Do the restaurant, order the burger. Double Bam. If it doesn’t exceed your expectations, message me.

We stopped for lunch here while driving through the Blue Ridge Parkway. We had a burger, a chicken sandwich(a daily spacial) and a couple of their beers. Everything was delicious. The restaurant is really nice and the service was good. Totally recommended.
