Chicken was done fast and was hot and crispy. The store needs updating, and some general maintenance.

Buffet is an exceptional value at $ 8+tax including drink. However the buffet should be monitored closely. Several food items had hardened when I came in around 3 PM. Also, items atypical of KFC’s regular menu were available including chicken/​noodles as well as stuffing which was on its way to crystallizing. Standard sides are available as well. Chicken was available in small batches though a sign cautions that not all varieties may be available at all times. There’s another KFC buffet in Ames but those are the only two I’ve encountered in Iowa. If you’re a fan of Kentucky Fried Chicken it’s definitely worth a stop. If I remember correctly the buffet ends at 7 PM even though the restaurant is open later. This location is right off U.S. 30 at the four way.
