Dos Amigos is my sh*t. Their lunch specials are $ 4. FOURDOLLARS! And so delicious. Their food is really yummy for a run of the mill Mexican joint with such low prices. The servers are always so nice, not to mention the manager KILLS it. I would highly recommend dos amigos, I go there an unhealthy amount.

While visiting nearby Watauga Lake we dropped in for lunch. Felt welcomed and were seated right away. Received the complimentary chips and salsa and drink orders quickly. I enjoyed the lunch steak fajitas, a nice sized portion which was very tasty and filling. Service was friendly, attentive and very good, no need to ask for refills or extra napkins. Definitely a good value.

Boo! This establishment is your run of the mill Mexican place but it was always perfectly acceptable and the service made it enjoyable. Saturday night, we called ahead and let them know we had 14 people coming in around 7pm and they said no problem. When we got there we were glad to see it was not that busy for a Saturday night. It only took 20 min to seat us so we appreciated that. We were seated very oddly in a horseshoe shape but again our spirit was not doused as we were on a high from a great 50th bday camping trip/party. None of us were starving as we had a big BBQ lunch and we were not in a hurry so we were good patrons, I thought. The waiter, Alejandro, immediately turned me off with his obvious disdain for this big group he had to take care of. I was the first to order and told him the check would include my family and before I finished he was even more ticked off. All he had to do was to inform us we should split the check at the checkout. Instead he acted as if we were ruining his life. How terrible of customers to actually want to be waited on!?! GASP. I asked for water with lime and of course I did not get that. He said to me, «Here you get water with lemon». LOL Once all the drinks were passed out I asked again for my water with lime and he gave me the stink eye, went and got it and slammed it in front of me. The salsa which is usually good was like ketchup today.. .very runny. The food came and we were all surprised to see how sloppy and different it was from the past experiences. 4 of the diners have dined here on a weekly basis and I have eaten at this establishment for the past 6 years without a problem. This time it was just not good. My chili relleno had obviously been microwaved as the cheese was crunchy around the edges and plastered to the plate and the pepper was rubbery. The quesadillas were tiny and not filled all the way to the edges. We had ordered a variety of dishes and no one really liked what they got. Add the crummy attitude of the service and this was a thumbs down all the way. I will not be returning. There is another place Los Arcoris that I will choose next time instead.

We enjoyed our dinner at Dos Amigos — food was fresh and flavorful, service was attentive and the price was very reasonable– we will definitely be back again on future visits to Boone.

The food is consistently good, which seems a rarity. Also, the service is great.

My wife and I like Mexican restaurants. This is our third time that we visited this restaurant in as many years. We own a timeshare in Blowing Rock so we are always looking for different places to eat while we are here. The food and service are very good. They also are willing to prepare your order to please you. We both had their burritos and rice. Very tasty.

Dos is a great authentic Mexican restaurant. Their staff is respectful, nice and most of all speedy. The location is far enough away from town that parking is not an issue. It’s in a great shopping area — also right next to a movie theater. Dinner and a movie anyone? Really though, great establishment and great food.

Excellent, fast service. We were checked on several times. The chips were warm and the salsa was hot. The chicken dish was in big moist chunks not small pieces like many restaurants. No complaints.

This place was ok. Atmosphere was better than the other Mexican restaurant in town. Food was good but nothing really above average. Convenient place to eat dinner after a movie. Good waitstaff. Clean comfortable and inviting exterior.

This is the worst Mexican restaurant in Boone(there are several others to choose from, any of them are better than this). The portions aren’t great, and the dishes I’ve tried are lacking in flavor. The prices are rather steep for a Mexican restaurant; you can drop $ 20 on a meal before you know it. Parking can be difficult because it’s located in a shopping center. I avoid this place like the plague.

Food was delicious and served fast! Salsa was spicy but great. Service was slow but it was Friday night and the place was packed. Server was friendly. I would come here again for sure.

Good food, fast service, friendly waiters. Def not the most authentic but still very good. Wish the sanitation score was higher but not a deal breaker.

I really enjoyed this place although it isn’t authentic really… but still very good. They have decent prices & yummy drinks. I had a White Russian & it was very strong. I defiantly would recommend this place, way better than the raved about Black Cat Burrito in Boone.

Decent overall I guess. The guac was not pure avocados and had some filler in it but was still pretty good. Salsa nothing special. Enchiladas good. Not the best but certainly not the worst I’ve had.

Better than some mexican places but pretty typical for nc, bland salsa and factory made tortias. Nothing to write home to ma about

Dos Amigos is certainly in the top 2 Mexican places in Boone. Ok, there are only 2 in Boone. I’ve always had good meals here and the service is fine. It’s a pretty big place and looks nice after the recent renovations. It has a nice little bar with a couple of tv’s. Now that Boone can serve booze, it’s probably a popular spot to get tipsy at night. The only thing that I really don’t like is the prices have gone up a little and the portions have gotten a little smaller. Oh well, eat more chips I guess.
