Fix your speaker at the drive thru. It’s literally the stereotype of a bad fast food speaker. But as for the food, EFFING awesome. Great burger and the milkshake truly was spectacular. I was just driving through Boone on my way to Asheville and I had recognized Cook Out from an article I had read about good small fast food chains. I love trying out places I can’t get back in Ohio and I was not disappointed at all. I may make detours to Boone just for this.

I love cook out no matter where i go and this place doesn’t disappoin most of the time. This particular one sometimes has a hard time getting orders correct… But they are very kind about fixing it after being informed. I would recommend this place to my friends.

Had a really bad experience with overhearing a conversation on the speaker. Employees are rude and snobby food is OK I’d go somewhere else.

I simply cannot share my wonder and happiness at discovering the glory of the peanut butter fudge milkshake at Cook Out!(Thanks to the fine folks at Ensemble Stage for the recommendation!) It’s the way a milkshake should be… so thick, you can’t sip it through the straw until it melts a little! They make heavenly hush puppies as well! They’re open reeeeeeeeally late! They’re quick and easy on the wallet!

We might’ve just hit this on a bad day, but our food was so bad we ended up throwing most of it away. French fries were soggy and chicken quesadillas were floppy and had about half the usual filling. Seemed like everything was vastly undercooked. We eat at Cookout frequently and this was by far the worst.

Go late at night for some serious entertainment… Only place open past 1 in this college town! The staff is so patient, I couldn’t do it! Good grilled cheese, but that’s about it in my opinion. I’d rather go to Come Back Shack or Wendys

The only time I get fast food is when I’m travelling and there’s not much in the area but fast food joints. With that being said, I was pretty impressed with Cook Out’s food quality and the milkshake… OMG it was so delicious. Cook Out has an extensive menu and pretty much all of their burgers and sandwiches are char-grilled. ½ lb burger — so flavorful and delicious cajun chicken sandwich — chicken was not dry at all, great flavor banana pudding milkshake — I would’ve had 2 of these for lunch if I wasn’t going snowboarding afterwards I can’t complain about the service or speed of order; both exceeded my expectations. The prices were very reasonable. This Cook Out location is drive thru only but there’s a parking lot for you to park and eat if you choose to.

On a recent trip to Boone with my wife, we ate here twice and loved it. Good food, good shakes, very friendly service. Will definitely eat there again.

Cookout is a fast food restaurant, and a chain in North Carolina. It has great milkshakes and reasonably priced trays but it’s largest revenue comes from the fact that it’s open until 4 or 5 in the morning. Come about 1:45 to 2:30 am and this place is jumping. That being said, for a fast food place the food isn’t that bad. My brother works at one and says that the milkshakes are all made with fresh ingredients and that when you order a burger they cut the tomatoes and pickles to order. Now that’s unique. He also says they are looking to expand, so expect more of them to be popping up. The workers in Boone are pretty nice and have a good sense of humor. I brought my dog through the drive through late one night and they made her a goodie bag of chicken tender pieces.

OK Fast Food. This is a fast food joint. Better than most drive-thrus, worse than all sit downs.

The best burgers and shakes place in the area. Milkshakes are only a dollar when you buy the cookout tray for $ 4(Burger, Footlong Dog, or Barbecue with 2 sides and a drink) an enitre side of the menu is milk shakes
