Great casual café in Boone. Interesting, eclectic menu and friendly informative wait staff. I tried the yellow curry that was chock full of vegetables and plenty of flavor. Stopped for a late lunch and the restaurant was full mid-afternoon.

Great customer service by our waiter Alex and the food was fresh and yummy. I loved the soup(tomato bisque) and my salad with Balsamic dressing. The cheesy bread was a nice addition to the soup and salad combo. I also enjoyed my Aurora Berryslis smoothie.

Enjoyed this eclectic restaurant with healthier options. From out of town and thought this was a hidden gem. Yes, the food takes a long time to come out but I just figure they are really taking the time to make it. We all enjoyed the unique dishes served at our large table of people.

The staff were super friendly. The atmosphere was nice but it’s a small place and a couple of loud voices can really overwhelm the conversations of every other customer. I had the chicken chowder with green chiles and white corn. It was tasty but served lukewarm. For an entrée I had the Thai burger. It wasn’t bad but it wasn’t special either. The hallmark of the experience, however, was the glacial slowness of the entire experience. It was a Friday night and there was a large party our server was also taking care of.

After hiking a beautiful 5 miles with my two friends, we were famished. One of my friends raved about Hob Nob and how perfect the vegetarian/vegan food would be for me(being that I’m a vegan). The minute we pulled into the lot, I was hooked. I couldn’t make up my mind with all these food choices! Our waiter Coleman, was patient, friendly, enthusiastic and we didn’t even wait long for our food. I love Boone. I loved this restaurant. Need I say more?

Great atmosphere, service and the food was really tasty! Had the BEST biscuits and gravy EVER! Loved that all the old clocks were stopped @4:20. Only thing that this old hippy found uncomfortable was that it was TOO cold in the dining room.

We went on Sunday for brunch. Wasn’t crowded when we arrived — got our table for 4 right away. Unfortunately the service was extremely slow. We got our order about 20 minutes after we placed it and the dishes were all warm at best — despite the«hot plate» warning. Tasty but would have been better hot.

This is a good place to come if you want a culinary adventure and don’t have anywhere to be in a hurry. I got the shepherds pie. It wasn’t what I expected in the traditional sense. But it was good and fresh. The service was kind of slow but friendly.

If you want to wait an hour and fifteen to get your food, while having an empty glass and having to ask for everything, go here. At least one good thing came of it was the actual food, but make sure you don’t have somewhere to be! Note to owner/manager: –get staff that know how to wait tables and have some sort of personality, they represent you and your company. –if your kitchens behind, no big whoop just tell your STAFF to just mention it to their tables and people will be understanding.

Food was great and service was attentive. Inside was a little stuffy, so eat out doors for a better experience.

We arrived towards end of their day and still received great service; server was descriptive and knowledgeable of flavors in products. They were willing to work with my kids tastes. Our food was excellent — ate every bite!

Outstanding. Great service. Food was amazing. Completely fresh healthy and decadent all at the same time. The food is made to order so maybe a little longer than some places to be served but so worth the wait. I had the Machu Pichu and it was so so good. Very flavorful with great textures and very filling. Excellent. Very good service, charming atmosphere. We will be back!

Hopefully the 1.5 hour wait for food is worth it. Unreal how slow it is. Where is the management or owners? I guess no one understands turns and profits.

We were a party of 6. When the waitress brought the water and tea, we were informed that they were out of lemon and straws. I asked if they were out of anything else And she said no. My husband ordered the nachos. Oops, they were out of chips as well. The hamburgers were o ercooked and dry. The Santa Cruz burrito was tasteless even with the sauce. The salad had wilted lettuce. Reports from the BLT eater, said his sandwich was good. If you are in a hurry, this is not the place.

Food is great. Fresh, local and tasty. Unfortunately, the service is really, really slow. It took forever to just get my beer and I had to ask if our waitress forgot it. They didn’t deliver my salad with dinner, but I didn’t ask for it because I didn’t want to wait.

Caution: White people cooking ethnic food. We were told there was a 20 min wait. We sat in 15. Ordered our food. Then waited an hour. The server said, ‘it’s coming right out’ However we continued to wait for 20 more minutes. Looking into a typical kitchen, one would see the cooks scrambling around. Quickly moving. Dancing around each other. However from our seats we could see a couple of stoned chefs moving at a snails pace doing one thing at a time. As if there wasn’t a care in the world. Now the patio was closed due to 20 degree temperatures… And I was thinking ‘How does this place operate when at total Capacity; Indoor and outdoor seating filled?‘ Oh well… I ordered the Machu Pichu. It consists of: –Smoked gouda quinoa cakes. –sweet potato –black beans –BBQ citrus glazed salmon –avocado –queso fresco. –cranberry sauce. –blackberries. Talk about a stoner for a chef. It was a cornucopia of flavors and ingredients. Just plain weird. I don’t recommend coming on a Friday night. But if you do, bring snacks to nosh on. You’ll need em. Also– CASHONLY… Or checks(who takes checks these days!?). There’s an ATM in the foyer if you forget.

Thank you for being open in a snow storm! Terrific options for everyone. But what makes me squeal with joy are your vegan options! Yummy! Hob Knob is listed under more than one category, not sure how this happened, but it might be confusing?

12−28−14. After reading the great reviews we decided to eat here for dinner. We are from Florida and spent a couple days here in the Boone area to ski and snow tube. We were greeted and sat at a table for 5 on a Sunday night around 6:30 pm. Five of us all orders a variety of smoothies and tea. Started out with the chips and chipotle quest and tomatillo sauce. Very good though we ran out of chips before dips. We ordered the chicken gyro, a Thai peanut noodle dish, salmon tacos, nori avocado tofu wrap, and a special of the day quesadilla with sweet potato, chicken, spinach and mushroom. What can I say. Everything was fantastic and fresh and perfectly cooked. Pictures speak a thousand words and fortunately I was able to get a few shots in before it was devoured. The waiter was friendly and attentive.

Why on Earth am I the first to review this gem? Very high quality farm to table ingredients. This restaurant caters to vegetarians, vegans, gluten free, and meat eaters. The wife enjoyed a grass fed beef hamburger that was perfectly cooked and very high quality. I had the Garam Masala Yellow Curry(with Tofu as protein, others available) which was one of the most unusual meals I have had in some time: jasmine rice, spicy yellow curry with roasted yams, haricot vert, red bell peppers, kale & carrots, purple cabbage, mango & cashew. Very nicely sized portion. This was the on the special menu and regular menu. Very casual atmosphere with indoor and outdoor seating. Attentive staff who knows the menu and offered recommendations. Had to wait for a table on a Saturday afternoon, popular local place. And oh, GETTHESPICEDPEARFALLSANGRIA!!! Off the charts yummy…
