This is a great place for seafood. All of the food is very filling, tasty and fresh. Can be very busy and kind of crowded, hence the 4 stars.

Delicious and good service, except they are never accomodating if you arrive close to closing. Bummer, they could have had a 5 star

You don’t have to wait every Tuesday for taco Tuesday with this place(Well only their $ 1 are for the fish tacos but the other taco prices aren’t too shabby). Hole in the wall joint but you will not be disappointed. $ 1 fish tacos all day everyday and they have variety if you’re craving something else! They opened a restaurant version but sometimes you wanna keep it original and stay loyal to this place! The downfall about the restaurant one is they only offer 3 fish tacos and can’t order by piece. It does get packed during lunch and the amount of space they have is limited… But hey this is the place to go especially if you want it to go as well. Love their fish tacos!

I only come here for their fish tacos! Yummy cheap fish tacos for $ 1 everyday! I love their fish tacos here! Also I love their hot sauce! Recently I found out they have chipotle sauce, which is delicious with your fish tacos! Make sure to ask for it! It is a $ 10 minimum for credits credits or you get charged $ 0.75. This place pretty small so whenever you see a seat, take it! Service here is hit or miss. Sometimes they are on top of things and sometimes it seems like they are a mess. But their food here is always on point!

This place is SO good. Whenever I’m in the South Bay I HAVE to go here. Everything on the menu is delicious. But my favorites are the smoked tuna tacos(they so incredibly delicious) and the shrimp cocktail(flavored so well and served with saltine crackers). Side note: the house hot sauce is yummy too. Not too spicy and pairs well with everything on the menu. As for drinks I love the clamato with beer(not to be confused with their version of a michelada). The clamato w/beer has a good amount of clamato and a ton of tajin — my mouth waters just writing this. Warning — this place is small so not amazing for groups but definitely worth trying to find a seat. The staff are awesome as well! Needless to say, you have to stop by and try this little place. You will not be disappointed.

I live right by tjs oyster bar and have been eating there for years. The food is good, the price is ok, the service is terrible. Today I phoned in an order, they told me 10 – 20 minutes. I arrived 20 minutes later, paid, and as I did the cashier told me it would be up in a second. 10 minutes later I asked where my order was, he went to look and saw they hadn’t even started it yet. This is the 4th time recently something like this has happened. A few months ago I placed an order. After I arrived and paid I waited over 20 minutes standing right by the cashier. I finally asked about my food and the lady realized it was in a bag right next to her the whole time. 6 months ago my friend ordered the seafood burrito. She thought the scallops seemed a little under cooked. She later spent most of the night throwing up from food poisoning. Oyster bar badly needs to train their staff! I won’t be going there or recommending them to anyone.

Pros: –Delicious food. Ordered the octopus, garlic shrimp, & oyster tacos last time(in order of most to least favorite) –Affordable prices(especially for seafood) –Decent-sized portions(bigger than the average taco) –Pet friendly(there are 2 outside tables) –Easy parking in the lot(on a Sunday) Cons: –Limited seating –There can be a long wait –Oysters were poorly shucked I really like this place though. Hopefully the oysters will be better next time.

Do you like yummy and cheap fish tacos… like $ 0.99 per taco kinda cheap? Well if yes, make sure to stop by TJOB! Come when its not super busy. i’d say before lunch time. They charge $ 0.75 for credit card purchases under $ 10. I havent tried their items, but i think you’re safe with just eating their fish tacos.

Best fish tacos in San Diego. Crispy, fresh, and served with a delicious red sauce. The fish to slaw ratio is perfect.

It’s amazing. You gotta come here. The seating is horrific, but they do have both inside and outside seating(minimal). Who cares, though, when the food is this good?! I ordered(2) fish tacos and an order of fries, while the person I was with got some fish tacos and a seafood burrito(?). The fish tacos were thee best fish tacos I have ever had. The crunch and flavor is perfect. The toppings are perfect and lend to this beautiful flavor. I had a bite of the burrito and that was glorious, too. The right amount of shrimp, scallops, sauce and other goodies. It was perfectly warm, too, and seafoody but not too *too* seafoody that the flavor was overwhelming. If you’re visiting the SD area you neeeeed to make this place a priority.

Been to this TJ oysters location a few times. It’s literally a hole in the wall. A very narrow, small place, just a few small tables and counter seats. Order at the counter and wait for your food. It can get a little crowded during peak hours. Their fish street tacos are white meat battered and fried, but still very tender and delicate. Served on corn tortillas with a little slaw. It’s probably one of their most popular item, but they have a lot of different seafoods to choose from. Smoked Tuna is good. As well as their ceviche, served on tostada. There’s 2 other locations that I know of, but this is the original…

Smoked tuna tostada is awesome. Love the shrimp tostada too. Very limited seating in the original oyster bar. Protocol is to order 1st and then get a table… a few people flagrantly violate this policy. grrrrr…

The tacos here are really good. I ordered 4 different ones. Stingray was just OK. The Garlic Shrimp, Shrimp with Cheese Diabla, and Smoked Tuna with Cheese were all really good. Next time I’ll probably stick with these 3. The Diabla Ceviche and was very disappointed in. Wouldn’t order that again. Staff was really nice. Oh, they do need a better hot sauce there. Didn’t like the house made one in the bottle. But, the tacos really didn’t need anything added to it anyways.

We always choose this place when we want to have a good time. Lots of parking next to Vons and Bofa. Customer service rocks! Very friendly and social. Nice ambience. Great place in CV/Bonita area for oysters and good fish ceviche. Grilled fish tacos are yummy too! The Bonita shop is small and really more for take out. Sadly, this shop uses a ton of stryofoam … and single use plastics. Everything tastes good, but nothing, except oyster tacos is a stand out dish.

Still a strong 5 stars for this TJ Oyster(not to be confused with the bigger, newer one down the street, which I’m not too fond of). Everything is great here. If I were asked to list my top 5, I would have to say: 1) Garlic Shrimp Taco 2) Smoked Tuna w/Cheese Taco 3) House Special Tostada 4) Octopus and 5) Fish Taco They used to have a Clam w/Melted Cheese appetizer years ago, which was my ultimate favorite, but they no longer offer it. I hope they bring it back someday. If I could give this place a 5+, I would because the staff has been great to me through the years. Jerry always remembers my favorites too.

I still love this place just as much as the first time I had. It is definitely better than the other tj Oyster bar other location. The fish is perfectly fried crisp in batter and it wasn’t too oily. I also love their garlic shrimp taco. The fish taco is a better steal at 99 cent it’s nice to know they haven’t change their price while their garlic is 4.50.

If this kind of hole-in-the-wall is at every town and you know what you want, then just come here! Honestly, all the other places that only have Taco Tuesday! This is Taco Everyday! But only for fish tacos. =O Small hole-in-the-hole joint with little seating, but it’s okay! At this kind of place, everyone orders fast, eats fast, and leaves fast! Fish tacos: freshly made! Hot on the inside. Crispy and crunchy on the outside. The white mayo sauce? Swordfish taco: around $ 3 for one. Texture is very soft and kind of on the mushier side. I tasted more salty than anything. Not that good. Smoked tuna with cheese: I had trouble finding the cheese! It’s so minimal! :(kinda salty too Garlic shrimp: my second favorite! Can Tate and smell the garlic! Shrimp is always good :) cooked just right Oysters: these are prepared more on the saltier side! I did get some broken shells inside my oysters. Otherwise still refreshing and served wet and fresh kinda? Pros: –fish tacos are just $ 1. Delicious. Yummy. Crispy. Hot. –plenty of other weird seafood tacos from smoked tuna to swordfish to octopus. etc. etc.(they’re way more expensive though. around $ 3 each) — I guess worth a shot to try ONCE, but next time if I ever come back, fish tacos all the way! –sitting at the bar is fun b/c you can watch them make all the tacos: D Cons: –They don’t serve water free here?! Only sell water bottles. Oh what the heckkk!!! That’s a first haha –kind of a Unilocal overhype b/c the other seafood tacos weren’t as good as anticipated! After the fish tacos, I would say a safe order would be the garlic shrimp tacos :) Can definitely taste the garlic in them though –their generic store hot sauce was not hit at all! And all of the others displayed had weird tastes to them. I only liked the green one the best and even then, it wasn’t spicy enough Tip: Just come for their fish tacos! $ 1 and bring your own water! They don’t serve water. just SELL water bottles: O

Food: — Fish Tacos: Deep fried fish topped with cabbage, tomatoes, and creamy sauce. The fish was perfectly fried. This is probably the best $ 1 fish tacos I’ve had in SD. 5⁄5 — Seafood Burrito: Shrimp, squid, imitation crab, onions, cilantro, and rice wrapped in a burrito, served with a side salad and a side of rice. The burrito was tasty but nothing spectacular. 3.5÷5 Service: Fast and friendly. 4⁄5 Final Thoughts: I would definitely come back for the fish tacos, though this was quite a bit of a drive from La Jolla where I was working at the time. It was worth it though.

Regrese otra vez a comer taquitos!
