Top Wireless Repair on Westpark near Boise Town Square buys and sells stolen phones out of their storefront. The owner purchases phones brought in from cab drivers and servers that lift them off of tables. The owner lied to me about having my phone, saying he keeps records of all of his transactions and had no idea what I was talking about. When I confronted him with GPS tracking from the Find My iPhone app he attempted to send me on a wild goose chase after someone else who sells stolen phones out of their car. That person did not have it and I left the store very frustrated as this is a $ 750 phone. Not even an hour later I received a call asking me to return to the store because he had a «surprise» for me.
Surprise! He turns out he did have my phone.
The owner then asked if he could hold my ID until he got the money back from the person he had originally bought the stolen property from. He said I was «making him lose money» and he had «done me a favor» by «finding it for me». At that point I lost my cool, told him some choice words and left. DO NOT TAKE YOUR PHONE HERE. YOU ARE WORKING WITH THIEVES.
