Of both of the Home Depots in Boise, I’ve found this one the most helpful. It’s clean, well-organized, and the staff seems very knowledgeable. I’ve walked into Home Depot generally clueless with lots of random questions and I’ve never left unhappy. They do seem genuinely interested in making sure customers are satisfied and well-informed prior to undertaking a project. Bonus points for the paint department, as they seem to be a mini-counseling center. I’ve spent hours in Home Depot’s paint department in somewhat of an existential crisis looking at paint samples and lamenting my inability to make a decision on wall colors. The woman in the department told me that painting is a big decision, to take all the time I need, and that they’ll be available whenever I’m ready. Ridiculously kind. Another time, a man in the same department jauntily described Ralph Lauren paint treatments to me and told me his theories on colors can influence mood and create certain environments. We talked a lot about how I wanted the room to feel, then he coordinated colors around it. Probably the best mental health help I’ve ever received without a co-pay. Thanks Home Depot!

Just spent 2 hours in Home Depot which could have been cut down to 40 minutes if we could just find someone to help us they offered to have people have but we didn’t feel like waiting around another 30 minutes he see plenty of people just standing in Home Depot doing nothing but nobody can help customers they were at the party back so now we’re headed clear across town to the other Home Depot the manager would simply keep things inside maybe that would run efficiently

Terrible service. I spent fifteen minutes looking for a shut off valve. I finally found someone in the plumbing department who was happy to give me a wise crack answer. He then took me over to the plumbing expert who was deep in conversation with another«associate». The expert reluctantly broke off his chat with the other associate to help me. I got my valve and went to the front desk to talk to the manager about my experience. He seemed to think it was amusing as he couldn’t wipe the smirk off of his face. He offered me a discount. Apparently, he thought I was mining my poor experience for a couple of dollars off retail. Some managers just don’t get it. They don’t think the in store experience matters. «Poor service is fine. If they complain, give them a couple of bucks off and they’ll be happy». I live in Portland and there are two Home Depots near me(and a Lowe’s). The service at the Home Depots there could be a great example for this site. BTW, I declined the discount.
