Very disappointed after hearing and reading some rave reviews. Easily the worst customer service I have experienced in Boise. Rolled in at 8:25(they close at 9) on a Friday night and the server immediately gave attitude. Should have just left then. The atmosphere was sub par with outdoor patio furniture used in doors. Nigiri wasn’t great nor were any of the 4 rolls the waiter suggested. Overall I’m really disappointed and will continue going to the 2 other sushi options in the immediate area.

I have eaten here, at the 8th St location, several times. I came in for lunch today and ordered the lunch special. Three small orders of rolls, two nigiri, miso, inari pocket and a slaw/salad. Not bad for $ 11. The quality of the sushi has always been good and the service has always been acceptable at worst. Really nice place to relax after work or on a weekend. As others have noted, this place is nothing fancy. Patio furniture in a basement of an office building and also some outdoor seating, but I’ve never had a bad experience.

Been coming to this place since 2010. I love that it is in a basement of an old building with a coutyard. The food is always good and the prices are great. I especially like the music they play.

I ordered takeout for lunch from the LuLu’s location. They told me it would be 25 minutes. Showed up after just that, and noticed my to go box was sitting on the shelf instead of in a refrigerated area. I figured it couldn’t have been there long, so originally didn’t think too much about it. Paid for my food and left. Upon getting home, I opened the box and noticed several things all at once– no chopsticks, no soy sauce, minimal wasabi, and a ton of ginger. Luckily these things didn’t deter me too much as I had extra soy and chopsticks of my own. The real disappointment, however, was that I went to feel the rolls to make sure they were still cold, and they were WARM. For my own comfort, I had to throw $ 30 worth of sushi away. I will not be returning.

Friday night, heard of the great reviews and looking forward to this. Surprisingly there was only one table occupied when we arrived at 7, prime time on a Friday night… hmmmm Then we received… Cold sake, served warm cold beer also served warm… Hot miso served cold. Not a great start. Ordered the dragon’s breath and LA bomba roll it has got to get better… Nope. LA bomba is rolled so loose it is falling apart on the plate, made to impress weighing in at one pound however when served with a half pound of cucumber and avocado it looses its luster. And the spicy mayo is literally just warm mayo. On the plus side our server is nice, very attentive, the fish tastes fresh and they have a decent selection of beer. I have eaten sushi at least twice a week for the last 20 years and my girlfriend has run multiple restaurants. Never have either of us left in the middle of a meal but tonight is my first. Zero stars and I highly suggest you look elsewhere. Many great choices in town, this is not one…

I had excellent service. I enjoyed the nontraditional options. The sashimi sunflower is delicious, and I really liked the Dragons breath with Asian salad and sunflower seeds. Glad I stopped here!

I read a review that placed this as one of the top 10 sushi places in the US. Hard to believe as this was some of the worst sushi I have ever eaten. Chicken broth based miso soup… what a joke. Edamane that was so over salted you could not eat it. And whatever that stuff was rolled up to look like sushi with all of those spicey and sweet sauces. I have to wonder if the owner and the person doing the review have ever actually had real sushi. Isn’t the point of sushi the sweet fresh fish and toasty rice flavors? If I wanted something over sauced I would have gotten Chinese food! Spent most of the evening looking for the Imodium battle. This place is trash.

Visiting Boise from Texas and Unilocal directed me and came through. I had 4 pieces of nigiri and the Kamikaze roll. My buddy had the Crazy Hawaiian roll(he says he highly recommends it). The atmosphere is very unique. It is downstairs of an older building in a row of restaurants. The service was prompt and the meal was excellent. If I ever do return to Boise, I will be back. The sushi presentation was interesting and worked with the design of the restaurant. Everyone around me looked pleased with their meal and after eating mine, I can see why. Drop on by. Remember, gotta go into the building and then downstairs.

Came later at about 8, ordered the sukafish & Hawaiian roll. Both we about $ 13-$ 14, wayyyyy too much. Fish seemed like it was on its last day, & shrimp tempura was too thick and soggy. Overall just low quality sushi that’s way overpriced. Maybe it would be better at a different time, but I won’t be back

Superb never disappoints me! Really good rolls and fresh ingredients. The only reason I’m not giving 5 stars is because I really want to get into the sushi rolling class and have inquired twice… I never got a call back about it :(

This was first time there last week, I really enjoyed the food! I had the lunch special, the veggie roll was a little bland but the other rolls were wonderful! Place was a little confusing to find and the ordering process was a bit confusing as well.

YUM! BUT that service though! Food was excellent, filling, and delicious if slow(understandable as they have to craft each roll). The pictures that people have posted here are a true picture of what the beautiful sushi looks like! Our server though looked unkempt and didn’t give us any kind of utensils or do much other than talk to us pretty slowly and a bit condescendingly. There was a thing of chopsticks and forks on a separate table and I found myself running back and forth to grab things for my family! I am also sad that they only have unlimited sushi only two days a week, but they seem to have other good deals for the other days! It was pretty gross but also understandable that they had a few flies buzzing around. The doors were open with no way to keep them out. Maybe they could put up a few fans? We wandered around for a while trying to find the place as well, you have to go either through the Idaho building or around the back and then down some stairs to find it! Don’t be discouraged if you see the sign but no sushi! All in all, great sushi, a little lacking in service(I am a bit more critical just because I was once a server myself. sorry!)

If you are looking for traditional sushi don’t come here. Superb sushi calls itself the«The Ultimate Untraditional Sushi» and it lives up to the name. Try the Hawaiian Roll for something sweet. Service was awesome also.

Delicious! Spicy salmon is my favorite! The cabbage salad that rolls come with is delicious as well. Staff is nice and helpful. Ask for soy paper instead of seaweed if your new to sushi.

Good food and overall very tasty rolls. The service was very prompt and attentive, on this evening there were multiple large groups seated and the wait staff had no issues keeping up with all the orders. The only letdown in my opinion was the seating was very high and they did not have boosters available for my 5 year old.

Everything I have tried here has been delicious. The service was friendly, but slow on one occasion when busy. Will be the place I go for sushi. Nice menu variety.

The rolls are huge and beautifully presented. The staff is attentive and super nice. I would have given it 5 stars except for the hair in my Asian slaw. Not appealing!

Yum yum yum! American spin on Sushi that is exceptionally well-done! Just reading the menu was entertaining! They served us miso soup(typically not a favorite thing of mine) and I really enjoyed it! I ordered the Hawaiian Roll which was ahhh-mazing!(picture posted) It looks more like a dessert roll! Straight from the menu: Tuna and cucumber topped with pineapple, a special Hawaiian wasabi whipped cream and sweet hot sauce The wasabi whipped cream was to die for! Never had anything like it! Additionally, there is cute outdoor, subterranean type seating area If there is one down side it may be that service is a little rough around the edges. ex: I asked for water and he pointed to a pitcher that had lemon and water in it suggesting I help myself

Superb is consistent 80% of the time. I suggest dragons breath roll and anything with Salmon or Tuna. You can’t go wrong. Fast service. Okay service
