This is my go-to shoe store. The selection is to die for. I mean, seriously – all the glorious shoes! It’s magical. Went in once for pair of black flats and spent 45 minutes trying on shoe after shoe – there were Just. That. Many. They have an awesome clearance section in that back. You would think it would be only out of season shoes – but not so! I perused their section today, mid-May, expecting snow boots and galoshes, and there were actually sandals on clearance! The prices are by no means cheap – but for fashionable, name-brand shoes – they’re pretty good. It’s rare I buy shoes any where else. The one exception would be hiking shoes. They only had one pair of women’s hiking shoes to choose from. But, for running shoes, cross trainers, pumps, wedges, flats, sandals, and even rain boots? Bomb. Get to it!

Disclaimer: I’m not sure the shoes here are really at a «discount.» If you compare prices with virtually any other shoe store, including department stores, you’ll find them to be equal. However, any sort of «deal» or «sale» today is usually something of a misnomer. The great thing about DSW is the selection, which seems to be the best in Boise. While the men’s selection is a little more limited than the women’s there are an AMAZING number and variety of shoes. Boots, sandals, special occasion, loafers, athletic, slip-ons, really ugly, really cute: anything you want is here. And if it isn’t, you’ll probably be headed to look online because it doesn’t exist in town. Additionally, they’ve usually got most sizes in each shoe, so you won’t fall in love with something and then realize it’s not in your size. The staff are also very friendly. They’re always asking if you need help and happy to look for additional stock in the back or point you to other shoes you might like that you might have missed. They’ll even show you shoes on clearance you might have overlooked, which is really kind. I appreciate that they don’t treat you like scum if you seemed concerned with price. Outside of shoes, they sell handbags, socks, and wallets. Again, they offer a pretty diverse number of choices, and everything is high quality. This isn’t off-brand merchandise, or the second-run things that people couldn’t sell. Everything I’ve ever purchased has been free of defects and lasted as long as I could have hoped for. If you need shoes and aren’t sure where to start, I’d head to DSW.

I expected more. I thought the website had a lot more choices to chose from then what was in store. It’s called a Warehouse but it’s more like typical shoe outlet. If you love Converse, Sperry, Aldo, Puma, or dress shoes but want more options than the Boise mall has to offer then GOTODSW. Just view the website first then call and ask if it’s the store has it available before you drive 15 minutes to find out they don’t. Overall I liked DSW Warehouse and I’d recommend it but it’s not shoe heaven, that’s for sure

What is not to love about a warehouse full of designer shoes at discounted prices? The selection here is always overwhelming, it is so extensive. They have a killer clearance section in the back, which is only a bit disappointing in that there aren’t more shoes in my size. Prices are reasonable, and there always seems to be either a store special or a customer rewards coupon in my mailbox. Store is always clean and organized. Customer service is friendly and helpful. If they don’t have your size in stock, they can order it for you and ship it to your house free of charge! They also carry a great selection of purses and bags too.
