Love this place! They always get my coffee order correct and the baristas are this MOST friendly in town. I will always chose Caffe Capri over other coffee shops in Boise.

I like the location. But the coffee is so so

Haven’t had their drip coffee, but my go-to is an iced Americano. Although Caffe Capri delivers as far as the taste of their espresso(yay, not burned!), I have been to this location several times and received a vastly different Americano every time. Say what you will about Starbucks, but at least I know what to expect there. Here, sometimes my drink is overly strong, sometimes it’s weak; it has been perfect a few times as well, except that it never has enough ice. The only consistent feature was that lack of ice. Every time I’ve ordered an iced Americano here, it comes with barely the thinnest chips of ice, which is disappointing, as the beverage itself is barely chilled. Hot espresso and water going over ice of course melts it, but there’s a happy medium; next time, I’ll try asking for extra ice to see if this solves the lukewarm drink problem. Still, I believe I shouldn’t have to do that to get a cold drink. Service is polite; I’m usually thanked for waiting, since often the wait times in the drive-thru are a little long. I’m willing to give Caffe Capri a few more shots(no pun intended), especially because their espresso tastes good. I’ll have to try it hot and see if the consistency improves.

Beautiful little space with a fireplace in the middle of the room, comfortable and spacious tables and a few soft chairs, and a layout that makes it easy to have a private conversation even if the place is busy. The staff was friendly and when I asked for soymilk to put in my coffee, didn’t bat an eye or act inconvenienced like people sometimes do. My primary issue with Caffe Capri is that the coffee just isn’t very good. I got a regular brew, and it was weak and rather watery. I couldn’t taste any of the nuance or subtle flavors of a proper cup of coffee. I’m not sure if their beans aren’t well roasted, they don’t brew properly in some way, or there’s another issue, but it’s the same as the problem Moxie Java always had: it’s a coffee shop that’s not good at coffee. I haven’t had an espresso beverage here, so I can’t speak to that. I also didn’t try any pastries, but they had a large selection. However, where it matters, this shop falls short. I plan to come back at some point to see if they are better at other beverages, because I do think this is a nice spot to meet a friend and hang out.
