Chilitos Express was highly recommended to me by our wedding venue and now I know why! This little food truck is packed with big flavor! Their signature sauces are amazing, tamales are out of this world and tres leches cake made by Al’s wife was to die for! We used Al and his team for our rehearsal dinner at Eagle Dancer Ranch in Sisterdale and they were a huge hit! All my guests loved the food as did I! If you are looking for delicious food, top notch service for a remarkable price you have found what you are looking for! Al and his team will take great care of you and leave you with happy bellies!

Came here because I heard it was a local favorite. I ordered the ultimate double cheeseburger and it was huge! It was one of the best I have had. The main chef came and sat with us as we ate and talked about how he worked for Gordon Ramsey. To be honest I wouldn’t be surprised! With the quality and quantity of the food this place was sure worth it!

Chilitos tamales have become a staple during our holidays. Order ahead or call ahead to see what they have left for the day bc they are made fresh! Try the jalapeño cream cheese. This was my biggest graving during my first pregnancy. I would stand in the long line every market days just to feed my cravings! I highly recommend the worst tacos! My other favorite is the burritos bowl. I’ve had this with chicken, pork, veggie and they are all equally delicious. When we have family other we order the sampler that has a little bit of everything, there is something for everyone. Tamales, empanadas, quesadillas, tacos etc! The owner Al is a very nice guy and has a passion for growing the restaurant diversity in this town. He does a great job bringing a fine quality cuisine himself.

I have been going to Chilito’s Express since they were at The Pavilion Food Park on Johns road. The food is always made to order and is in your hand in no time at all. The employees and the owner Al are very friendly and make sure that you are taken care of. Unlike other places around Boerne, here you will get a generous portion for a reasonable price. They do not skimp at all. I have tried quite a few things on their menu and have not had anything I did not like. Their burgers are huge and their tacos are stuffed. I like the Bacon, Egg, and Cheese Burger, the pork street tacos, and the pork«Worst Tacos». I would recommend ordering one of their lunch specials because you can try something new at a discounted price and it includes a drink. If you are a Starvin’ Marvin the Chilito’s sampler plate will satisfy even the hungriest of the hungry.

Excellent flavors in hamburgers. Real thick patties. Argentinean sausage burger is great. Cream cheese and jalapeño tamales are one of my favorites. This is not TexMex! Sauces make the difference. Authentic Peruvian flavors, get the taste of Peru without the trip! I bought six dozen to take to Tennessee when I moved here! And will be ordering some more soon, as well some of Al’s sauce.

I first tried Chilitos when they served at my children’s private school function and was immediately hooked. Their green sauce(if you get the hot) is exactly that hot and spicy. I am a huge fan of their street tacos and highly recommend it. I have tried their rice and beans and although they are not typical Mexican recipes(hence the word fusion) they are equally delish. Give them a try!

What can I say it was really good Latin style food at a great price. The bowl was big enough for my girl and I to share. Outdoor picnic tables will soon have umbrellas. Thanks David you guys are awesome!

Just moved to Boerne from CA and have been looking for a really good taco truck. This place has excellent food!!! Tried the chicken cream cheese tamales and they were excellent! We also ordered the sample plate which included some street tacos and quesadillas, both really good. The meats are seasoned and cooked to perfection. I really want to try one of the burgers next time around. We will definitely be back!

We had the street tacos at an real estate event last week. They were awesome especially with the green sauce. Thanks Al for helping make the Esperanza Real Estate Preview a success.

Saw this place featured on SA Live today, and was intrigued by the green sauce. Gave them a call to see if they had any available for purchase today. Spoke with a super nice guy named David who checked inventory and offered to set aside 2 of the green sauces so that I could pick them up. Since the sauce is made fresh every day, they sell out quick. Drove from the South Side of SA(and I mean Palo Alto south) all the way to Boerne for this sauce. Once I got there, was assisted by a lovely young woman named Madison, who told me I got the last of that sauce. I ended up buying a dozen of the cream cheese/chicken tamales and a dozen of the cream cheese/jalapeño tamales as well. Got home and tried all three, and OMG… the sauce is Serrano– based, so it doesn’t take much, but it is SODAMNDELICIOUS! And the tamales… out of this world, and I’m not EVEN exaggerating. I live in the South Side so I always order my tamales from B&B, and have always been a happy camper, and will continue to order the traditional pork and pork/jalapeño tamales from them. But I have to admit that I kinda fell head over heels in love with Chilitos sour cream and chicken/jalapeño tamales and that food-gasmic green sauce. I hope the two will understand that I can’t let either one of them go

This review s in regard to the food truck set up at BOB. Great Tamales! Had the cheese and jalapeños, this will be a nice stop next time I go to Boerne. Good job guys, great flavor and customer service. If only BOB(Boardwalk on Bulverde) could clean up there act we would stop by more often.

Best kept secret in S Texas. Jalapeño cream cheese tamales are well worth the 70 mile round trip I make to get them. The Cuban sandwich and pork tacos with the signature sauce are just outstanding. Walter and his assistant make remarkable food and have customer service down pat. Very reasonably priced. I go as often as I can. By the way, I think the location is 905 N Main in Boerne. Wish I could give it more stars!

We eat at Chilito’s approximately once a week. Mu husband is hardcore for the steak quesadilla. I can’t go longer than a week without the pork taco! Chilito’s has great prices and outstanding food. Al recently added a few more items to the menu and they have all been winners! The«Worst of the Worst» taco and Hell taco are awesome as well, just really filling! And don’t forget the green sauce. I would eat that stuff on ice cream if they offered it!

This place was recommended to us by a friend. Upon first glance, Chilito’s didn’t look like much, but in this case, looks were deceiving. Here is the breakdown: Steak quesadilla — loads of white cheese and perfectly spiced steak, nestled between two tortillas. Tortillas were nice and crispy. Cheese literally oozed out between bites. While the steak had a great flavor, it was a tad bit tough. However, the flavor was enough to forgive that. Roasted Pork Taco — this taco was fantastic. Slow cooked fork tender, roasted pork, cilantro, onion and a green sauce that had just the right amount of heat. If you are in downtown Boerne, then this is definitely a place you want to try.

Ordered the beef skewers last night. Took forever, then they came out warm(not hot), dry and over cooked. For $ 8.50 there was hardly any food and it did not look like the photo on the web site. Advice: 1. Avoid the beef skewers 2. Plan to wait 3. Bring your own drinks. $ 1.50 for a can of soda you get yourself and no cups is a rip off. Web site does have discount for texting them and for checking in on facebook.

Chilitos has moved into the beer garden on Main St. This place is great!!! The Latin burger combines traditional American fare with a secret cilantro sauce and Latin spices. The worst taco and quesadilla are excellent. There are many other items on the menu that I have not tried but I will definitely be heading back to try everything else.

Chilitos Express brings Latin flavors to Central Texas. The owner, Al Maldonado is originally from Peru and is hoping to expand the palates of local diners. I’ve eaten at Chilitos about 7 times. I started off with more traditional foods, breakfast tacos and«worst taco.» All were delicious, tender tortillas and fresh ingredients. Chilitos makes delicious tamales that are filled with either cream cheese and mild jalapeño, or cream cheese and chicken. I thought cream cheese tamales would be very rich, but these are flavorful, delicate, and interesting. Chilitos has very good meats and the foods that feature meat are delightful. Try the meat empanada, in fact, try two. This week I tried two«white board» specials: The Caribbean Brisket Taco and the Loin Steak Taco. They are my current favorites. The Caribbean Brisket has brisket meat tossed in a Caribbean salsa and it is a bit spicy, but then, I love spicy. The loin steak taco has a creamy green sauce that was finger licking good. If you know what you want to order, you can call ahead, and leave a message and your call is usually returned quickly. On rush hour mornings, it’s a good idea to call ahead. I keep asking Al when he is going to bring more Peruvian food items. He said it’s been difficult because people are afraid to try new things. That seems both very sad and very true. Boerne is pretty conservative and bland in terms of food choices. But Chilitos is about 10 minutes from La Cantera, and San Antonio folks are bound to be looking for something besides the regular taco now and then.
