Another spot that’s been bookmarked on my list for a while that I’ve finally got to try! When we entered the restaurant there was a sign that said please wait to be seated, so we waited, and waited, and waited with no acknowledgment from anyone. It was a Sunday morning around 10am and the place was almost full, but still I figured we would at least get a greeting and told the wait time. WELL, it turns out there’s a sign in sheet around the corner from where you walk in, if it weren’t for the people who entered after us about 10mins later who knew how it worked we probably would have waited all day. I did find out that there is a sign outside the door that says this, but it would have been better if it were clearly stated inside somewhere or if an employee advised us on how it worked. But anyway, a slight confusion wasn’t about to ruin this experience for me. Once we were seated our server was wonderful. While we looked over the menu we checked out the interior of the restaurant which was designed to look like a log cabin, was very well done. Menu is pretty straight forward for a breakfast spot, so we quickly knew what we were going to order. Once our order was in, it literally took 3 minutes to get our food! Good, because we were starving anyway. My order was the French Tom Sawyer which was croissant French toast, with 2 eggs(over easy) and 2 sausage links and 2 bacon. As I said. Pretty straightforward for a breakfast place. The food was just as one would expect. The best part was the generous portions! They definitely done skimp on the food. Overall, I think a 4 star rating is prefect for here, nothing extraordinary but a great breakfast spot for some comfort food.

Tom sawyer is a boca staple that has been cranking out solid country style breakfast for years. I used to come here as a kid many times with my dad and brother after church on Sundays and it was one of those places you have to get there early if you don’t want to wait. especially on Sundays. That hasn’t changed as my recent visit(and after easily not coming here for 10 yrs) was on a Sunday. Got there at 9am with a table ready but by 920 there was a pretty solid wait. I have always been partial to the huck Finn breakfast which is crossaint French toast, choice of meat, and 2 eggs. it’s really amazing. The OJ is delicious and you can tell it’s fresh and the service is always outstanding. Tom sawyer is a definite visit for someone wanting a home cooked country style breakfast.

I’ve been eating here since the late ’80’s and I’ve never been disappointed. They serve good quality food and plenty of it at a reasonable price in a nice, rustic environment. Their selection is very good, though«back in the day» they used to have a big white board up front with maybe 20 or more daily specials in addition to the regular menu! It’s good, hearty breakfast fare — if u don’t expect Michelin white-glove service you’re going to love it!

Everything a breakfast place should be: fast, friendly, affordable and, most importantly, great food! I enjoyed a cheddar cheese omelette; my husband loved the chili omelette, And we shared an order of the croissant French toast — I just had to try it! The food comes out unbelievably fast. The enormous omelettes are fluffy and delicious. The croissant French toast is fabulous with a delicate texture yet sturdy enough to carry the buttery-syrupy deliciousness! Arrive early to avoid a wait, but if you have to wait: 1) it’s totally worth it and B) you won’t have to wait long; they turn those tables fast! Highly recommend — I think we found our new breakfast spot!

It is pretty good food with large portions. The reason for only 3 stars is because I was with 2 others and our meals all came at separate times, 2 – 3 mins apart. The wait staff seem to be pretty slow or the cook was overwhelmed. The coffee is very weak. However I have been there more than a few times so it is a win or a loss. It kinda depends on the waitress you are lucky or unlucky enough to get. It does have a a nice rustic and quiet atmosphere.

Can you say WOW! Huge portions! I went with the country fired steak and was not disappointed. I would definitely eat here more if it were closer. Down to earth country food… what’s not to love.

My husband and I were in town visiting when we wanted to look for a good yet inexpensive breakfast place when we came across his restaurant via Unilocal. We saw it had good reviews and only one $ so we decided to check it out. This place didn’t disappoint and the reviews were on point. It’s kind of a hidden place but the décor inside was cool. I got the croissant French toast and my husband got the breakfast in a pot 3 meat. Both were delicious but the pot of food was HUGE. Definitely a great breakfast place! I also had cheesy grits were equally as delicious :)

Omelette have no flavor, the hot sauce they have is sweet not spicy. The server Martha is a disgrace to the industry. No smile, with terrible service. The cashier girl had no smile either. Won’t support again

This place isn’t much to look at from the street, it’s small on the inside, and it was jam packed when I ate here with friends recently. Make sure to go straight to the counter and«sign in» so you don’t lose your place in line.(I suppose it’s the) Regulars will walk right past you if you’re slow. Despite being small and very busy, we were seated quickly and our server was incredibly sweet and took our order. Our food was great, served quickly. The biscuits and gravy were absolutely delish!

I love coming here! Their breakfasts are awesome, especially all their inventive variations of french toast(croissant, cinnamon bun, and challah bread). I had the Tom Sawyer(croissant french toast combo) and my bf had the Mark Twain(regualr french toast combo). Only open through lunchtime. Decorated like a an old time country store. Recommended.

Scrambled eggs with bacon and croissant French toast was so good! The French toast was really good! Egg, cheese, and sausage sandwich with grits was also great! The fresh fruit, not so much. Ordered the strawberries and they appeared to be frozen and thawed and really looked that way… sent them back. All in all… great breakfast and will be going back :-)

I really enjoy this place. It’s fast and good. I think the county fried steak with gravy is one of the best sound here.

Been eating here for almost 20 years, 3 meat skillet, awesome. But I hear everything is great. Just can’t seem to deviate. Always crowded, service a little slow. Worth the wait!

We like this place so much! Try the skillet for three days worth of breakfast, or the French Tom Sawyer, as I did this year, for an extremely decadent french toast made out of croissants. The food is inexpensive and plentiful, the wait staff bustle and know how to handle crowds, and the food is tasty. What’s not to love?

Came here the morning after the Unilocalies, so suffices to say, I was in need of a hangover breakfast. What better place than one that is well recommended on my Unilocal app. The low down: Came on a Sunday morning — the drill is you come in and put your name on the list near the door and wait to be seated. It took a while because of the breakfast rush but not too bad. There is some seating inside and out to wait. The servers are super efficient. The food came really quickly — and it was well above average, classic American breakfast fare. My man ordered two breakfast entrees(he was hungry not hungover): Big fat, fluffy French toast plus a Tom Sawyer breakfast of two eggs and bacon and sausage and home fries — he gobbled it all up. I was hung over — and a bit confused as I ended up ordering a small egg French toast combo– but the French toast was made form English muffins. Not the best way to make French toast — based on my hungover tastebuds, anyway. But, I can’t complain about the eggs and bacon. Now about the coffee…(see American breakfast fare, above). Bring your own espresso. Still, the next time I party the night away on Atlantic Ave., you will find me back here the next morning. I think I’ll try the pancakes. p. s. there is a little counter at the register where some baked goods are sold — in case you want some sweets to go.

This place is crazy interesting. When I walked in, I felt like I got transported back to the small towns up North I used to avoid when I lived there. It’s adorable — very farm, rustic-y and not typical ‘Boca’. It’s packed on weekends too. There will probably be a bit of a wait on weekends, but they are good at getting people in and out without being rude. We were seated within 10 minutes, and our waitress was prompt, nice, and good with refills. My husband got a classic eggs benedict and I got the croissant french toast with eggs, 2 bacons, and a sausage patty. The Eggs Benedict was cooked perfectly — poached really well and very flavorful. The canadian bacon was on point too. The croissant french toast is a bit weird — it kind of flattens the croissant out and makes it a bit eggy in the middle. The ends were delicious, but it got a bit sad and soggy in the middle. Still, good, but girl next to me got cinnamon roll french toast and I got jealous quickly. Eggs were cooked perfectly and the bacon and sausage were delicious. This is probably my favorite breakfast joint in Boca now — it’s cute, nice people, and has a lot of interesting stuff on the menu.

Any restaurant that has the name of a RUSH song has to be Stellar, and it is! So on that note, my review will be written in tradition of the song(sing along if you want too). Ive kept some lyrics from the song in case you are wondering: A modern day restaurant Servers in stride Today’s Tom Sawyer Mean, mean pride Though their recipes are not for rent Don’t put them down as arrogant Their preserves, a tasty defense Bringing out the dishes hot The pancakes! What you say about his Sweet Iced Tea Is what you say about Society Eat the eggs, you like the most Eat the home fries, eat the toast! The food is, the food is Breakfast skillets are deep Maybe as his fries are wide Today’s Tom Sawyer He gets high on you And the smiles you give He gets by on you No the cooks are not for rent To any fast food establishment Eating there, you will be content They make pastries and eggs benedict Just eat them! What you say about his Sweet Iced Tea Is what you say about society Eat the biscuits, a side of gravy Cant go wrong, with the Tennessee recipe The food is, the food is Fresh and fruits are sweet Maybe get some grits on the siiiiide Exit the warrior Today’s Tom Sawyer He gets high on you And the energy you trade He gets right on to the friction of the day

Hubby found this place when he was looking ahead to our trip here. I’m not a huge breakfast fan so I asked if I could order off the lunch menu(it wasn’t even 10.30am) and they happily obliged. I got a toasted turkey club with chips, and it was delicious and a huge portion. Hubby got a skillet and couldn’t finish it(if you know him you’d know that’s a big deal!) Kidlet got 3 choc chip pancakes, a side of banana and 2 sausage links. Everyone rolled out of there full and happy! Service was friendly and speedy, though refills were slow and I had to remind them about my kids sausages! Definitely a spot to go eat at! :)

Great Little neighborhood spot for breakfast. I ordered the French Tom Sawyer Breakfast –Two Fresh Eggs Cooked to order with Croissant French Toast and choice of Bacon or Sausage. The breakfast I ordered was very tasty, some of the best I have had. The Croissant French Toast was very moist and had great flavor. Service was outstanding while seated but there was a long wait time to get seated and an extra-long wait time to pay.

What a great surprise in Boca! Always looking for a great breakfast place and today we found it. Luckily we came at a time they were to busy as this place filled up fast and it’s not huge inside. The inside is really rustic and welcoming. I was hesitant at first reading some reviews about service however our waitress was amazing, very sweet and accommodating. I had breakfast in a pot, I’m not big into s bunch of ingredients with my eggs so I asked for just eggs, cheese and the sausage and biscuits… so delicious !! My hubs had Tom Sawyer breakfast and was very pleased. The portions are epic! Had to get a to go box because it was so good ! You can’t go wrong with this place, can’t wait to go back!
