My wife and I were craving sushi during our drive down to Miami, this place was on our way, we had the Dragon Roll, JB tempura and Volcano they all were good but the backed crab from the volcano didn’t have that much flavor but still enjoyed it.

This is our go-to sushi place. We love the staff and love the food! The prices are normal for sushi. We love the wahoo poke appetizer! Sooooooo good! Also we usually get the sushi boat for two and we are stuffed! Love love love this place!

Fresh, delicious, good service, delivery available. They substitute with brown rice which is a great option. Great lunch specials too

I haven’t been this happy with a sushi restaurant in a long time. Everything we had was fantastic. Great service too! Will definitely be going back.

This place used to be a little gem, but then they remodeled, and, I assume, changed the kitchen staff. It has never been the same. I would pass.

I guess I’ll go ahead and write what the worst part of the experience was to the plain old bad. If I had to give a positive the staff was nice enough, but that’s all I got. To start with, my elderly grandfather got food poisoning from this place. Mind you, he’s not been ill like that in decades, and the only other things he ate that day included packaged breakfast cereal and some soup from Costco(that is to say, he definitely got sick from the Sushi Rock food specifically, and the timing makes sense). The scallops are what made him ill as they’re the only thing he ate exclusively and the rest of us weren’t sick, and he’s only just now been able to(warning, tmi) keep some water down after a full night of illness. It’s just unacceptable. Don’t go here if you expect to get served in anything resembling a reasonable time frame. This was a Saturday evening, and the restaurant was completely empty(should have been a warning sign). We ordered appetizers and drinks(including those fateful scallops) and waited, and I’m not exaggerating, a full 45 minutes before seeing any of it. When the appetizers came we ordered our food, which took approximately 1 full hour(!!!) to see any of. We didn’t order extensively, either. We were a total of 5 adults, and our entrees included one teriyaki, one tempura, and one soba noodle dish. It’s unthinkable that this would take an hour in an EMPTY restaurant. ~35 minutes in we went to ask the waitress for a rough approximation of how much longer it would be, but we couldn’t even get the words out before she interrupted us and said that we’re waiting because we ordered after the only other people in the restaurant. Really didn’t appreciate that considering we were being quite patient, food should Never take that long, we didn’t get much, and the place was empty, but to be honest I can’t fault her. If anything it just shows me how bad the kitchen was being that even their own staff was anxious and making excuses. She really was fine the rest of it though, a fair waitress working in a bad place. Excluding the scallops, which lowered the rating to I’m gonna say a –10000, the food was an even 2⁄5. Subpar but edible, I guess. We got fish teriyaki(that’s what it is on the menu, I think it was tilapia) which was poorly cooked and a day too old for my tastes, we got calamari that was only half as good as what you could buy pre-made from a bag. I did like the tuna lovers sushi roll, although we won’t ever get in again unfortunately since this was the last time I’ll be a patron at Sushi Rock. For the record, this was the first time(and last) time I’ve been to this place. My grandmother had been once before 2 years ago and gotten sick from the food then, but thought we’d give it another chance(and the cousin we were with adores Japanese food). What a mistake that was. If I were you, go elsewhere.

The fish was inedible. Beware the una don, it was served with long grain jasmine rice instead of short grain rice.

Great spicy tuna rolls. Very good wahoo too. The chef and his wife give you a great experience. The location is tricky and doesn’t look great but what a hidden gem. Delicious and fresh.

Food was great, I had sushi. Very nice presentation and flavors, chef was friendly. I think they could use a larger selection of rolls, but you have to understand it is also a thai restaurant. I’d come back if I was ever in the area again.

We, a party of 6 had to wait an hour for the food. The fish pieces in my California Roll where very small with 3x as much rice. I order sushi for the fish and not the rice.

Guacamole on sushi. Doesn’t seem right, but it is. Then they were slick enough to put some sliced avocado in my spicy tuna hand roll… they should call it the BOMB.

Just went for the first time and was very pleasantly surprised how good it was. Didn’t think much at first since its in a sort of random spot, but definitely worth going to. We had a couple of rolls, soup, and a Thai dish. All were very tasty and fresh. We’ll definitely be going back.

This is such a little gem. It had been a while since my husband and I went to Sushi Rock but as soon as we walked in the owners greeted us happily and with a big welcome. We ordered the sushi boat for two(comes with soup) plus I had unagi(eel). The fish was fresh & delicious. I enjoyed the salmon roll that accompanied it as well. The only disappointing part was the tuna in a martini glass that I think was seared but came out dry. Would have preferred it raw. But, this is a great local spot in Boca with plenty of parking too in Teeca Plaza.

If i could give this place 10 stars I would. It was the best sushi i have ever had in my life. The presentation was fantastic and the server was friendly and helpful with all our questions. This place is a must visit.

The sushi was good, and you get TONS of food. Seriously. So much. I had no idea the rolls would have been so big. The miso soup came out right away, and was hot and yummy. My only problem with it was the service. I was the only person in the restaurant(it was 4p on a thursday) and yet it took FOREVER for me to get my food. I was a little surprised– it wasn’t as though they had anything else to be doing. *****UPDATE****** The service is STILL ridiculously slow. I ordered take-out that was supposed to be ready in 20 minutes. I had to ask for it, and ask for it, and ask for it, and finally, after a full hour, it was ready. If I had wanted to spend an hour waiting for a meal, I would have eaten in. I have made numerous, numerous attempts to enjoy this place, but the speed of service just ruins the whole thing. So– if you want good sushi, you should go. But not when you’re hungry, otherwise you’ll die of starvation before your food arrives.

Sushi Rock is a favorite for the area around where I work. There Are other nice options like Blue Fin, but to save a few bucks for a diner ambiance and zero pretension this is the place. Pretty good soup, sushi rolls, and service.

I was in Boca on business and needed a sushi fix and found this place on Unilocal.I was greeted and seated right away. I ordered #1 off the lunch menu which consisted of 6 pieces of sushi, a California roll and choice of soup or salad for 10 bucks. I ordered the miso soup which arrived quickly and hot. I really enjoyed it. My sushi arrived in a boat. Other than the California roll which was cut into 12 pieces(so it’s big), there was 2 pieces of salmon, 1 tuna, 1 crab, 1 yellow tail, and one shrimp sushi. Everything tasted good and fresh except for the imitation crab. I don’t usually care for it no matter where it comes from though. The service was great, the sushi was good, and the price for lunch was excellent. I wasn’t blown away, but I’d return.
