This was the first time I had the chance to eat at a Mac G as I call it(it’s lame, but makes me laugh) for five years, and I was so excited to finally get my beloved Penne Rustica. We were seated immediately, got our drinks and break quickly. Our waitress was great. But two gripes, one: it was so darned cold! They had that place like a meat locker and it was so uncomfortable. Two: they had the music on so darned loud. It’s bad when a metal head like me is saying that. The food was what I remembered, the service was very good and I’m happy I came out. Oh, one last thing. The Unilocal app directed us incorrectly and I had to use another app to get us there.

Place is beyond garbage. The wait staff literally couldn’t have been any worse at all. The manager should fire all of them. Table of 6 girls and he says yeah could all of you guys write your number on the back of the check. Such a pathetic piece of garbage. He should focus more on his job. He’s obviously never gonna be much more than a waiter. He can barely do that for Petes sake. Avoid at all cost. And hide your wife and daughter from these creeps.

Another eh. This is my second time here and a friend wanted to go that’s the only reason I gave it another shot. Both times I have been it’s taken almost a hour to get our food(and it was not super busy). Prices are kind of high but it’s what I expect for Boca. Best part of the meal is the bread they give u when u sit down, yum ! This time I had eggplant Parmesan, didn’t wow me. Final thought — there are way better(less mainstream) Italian places out there and next time I’ll put up more of a fight.

I used to enjoy taking my family often to Macaroni Grill in Boca Raton. We loved the atmosphere, food and the Italian music. I then heard in the news they were having problems and decided to dine elsewhere for a while. Tonight I decided to give them a try again. The food was great and our server, Georgiana, was amazing. As one who dines out often, I always feel the server is one of the important elements in a restaurant. They set the mood right away if your dining experience is going to be off to a good start. She was extremely attentive and made sure we were satisfied. The food was as good as I remember, but what was missing was the Italian music. What a DEADFEELING not to have the music. Also the restaurant was slow at 6pm, so I felt it would have been nice for a manger to walk around the room and see how everyone was doing. Always a nice touch! If I hear one day they are going to bring back the music, I will then bring back my family.

This place has gone so incredibly downhill it’s really sad. I ordered a pasta dish with chicken, and what I was served left a lot to be desired. The chicken was gray and far from fresh. Clearly pre-cooked and processed. I asked for a new serving of chicken, and they returned with over cooked chicken pieces pan fried and not much better. Shame to see the franchise cutting corners when 3 – 5 years ago it was worth every dollar.

So disappointing! Took my brother in law and his family to dinner on a Wednesday night. Pulled up and the place was empty so I knew it would be a great place for our young kids for a fast and affordable dinner. Sat down minutes before 7pm and got our meals at 8:20pm. The apps took an hour before they came out and the kids food came out around 5 minutes later. Our kids were finished eating way before our meals came and were bouncing off the walls. I’m not sure what was going on but I couldn’t believe it for a dead Wednesday night. The worst part is when our food came(I was already full from bread and eating my kids meal) it was not hot. Won’t be coming back :(

My wife and I had a wonderful dinner at The Macaroni Grill in Boca Raton, last evening. The food was excellent. In addition we met Alberto Melendez, the manager who was very cordial, friendly and helpful… he made our evening a fabulous experience. We love going there and look forward to our next visit. There was no line, no waiting on a Friday night. When we got our food, I realized why. The pasta was cold and meatballs tasted canned. The cheese cake dessert was a bit frozen and the strawberry glaze watery. Not impressed

Years ago I used to like it here, but remember when is the lowest form of conversation and the past is in the past. In terms of Italian chain restaurants, this one has to be on the lower end of the spectrum. The food quality has dropped, prices are up, portion size is down, and the service is lackadaisical. Starting with the food, the create your own pasta, which used to be one of my favorite things has severely shrunken in size in every way. The amount of choices you can add to your dish went from the teens to the low single digits and some of their best items like sun-dried tomatoes and caramelized onions, as well as removing some good sauces. Portion size is also down, but that is the way it is with many dishes. An item here I still enjoy is the Carmela’s Chicken, which quality and quantity has gone down in years, but it still maintains a top place here. All their dishes feel very one note as well, they need to add more sides to their dishes and other add ons. Sure you can add a soup or salad with your meal, but of course their is an up charge, like everything else here. The water gets served from a bottle to make it look fancy, but the water is just luke warm tap water. Also, doesn’t make it any better that they don’t serve your drink with ice. The atmosphere here is nice, very modern, rustic. The table tops are covered with paper for your waitress to write on as well as you, however, beware of the paper on the table, it can and will cause paper cuts. The lighting is dim, and the location certainly is relaxing. Service I’m sure at most places is hit or miss, but every time I come here, it seems like the waitress never comes over to the table. On one particular evening our waitress was also running the bar, even though we were seated at a regular booth in the main dining area. She constantly had to run back there, neglecting us and the other customers she was waiting on. Italian food is probably my favorite type of cuisine, and with so many other options for it, Macaroni Grill will need to step up its game if it wants my business in this market. Food(B-), Pricing(C-), Atmosphere(B), Service(C+)

Just back from Romano’s Macaroni Grill and it was excellent. Great food and wonderful service from our server Emily. For our starter my wife and I had the calamari nice and crispy without making them rubbery which is not an easy thing to get right. My wife had the shrimp Alfredo and it had nice sized fresh tasting shrimp. I had my favorite the chicken scallopini which was perfect. For those of you who have gone to Olive Garden and have never been here its a whole different world your going to be in for a pleasant surprise.
