Wonderful owners, generous portions of food and drink. The food is unpretentious and prepared by the owner and chef. It was recommended by a local to try. The owners were warm and inviting, the chef visited our table and they offered some house made limoncello, just to try. We ordered the tiramisu, it was good and plenty.

My husband and I had dinner at Piccolino last evening. We were warmly greeted by Leanora,(Roberto’s wife) and settled into a lovely table in their fantastic new location. You may need to GPS the new location but it’s in the shopping center with the Fresh Market store on Camino Real in Boca Raton. There is plenty of parking and the new venue is classy while still warm and comfortable. Roberto the chef/owner is a master in the kitchen but he also will circle the dining room to assure that everyone is enjoying their meal. He is passionate about his food and his personality shines. You will be served zucchini sticks as you peruse the menu, beware they are very hot and very delicious, you will want more! Our favorites on the menu are the veal parmigiana and the fillet of sole francaise, you may think humm, sole francaise, I’ve had that before. Trust me you’ve never had it like this before. The balance of the light and simple sauce is truly amazing. I tease Roberto that I dream about this dish.(I do!!)A side of spaghetti with garlic and oil and I’m a very happy girl. My husband is always so pleased with the tender veal and with his restaurant background he’s very fussy about the small things and Piccolino delivers every time. I must say that I’m always satisfied with the dining experience at Piccolino and I hope you try the recommended dishes and become a regular too. Hope to see you there!

We were regulars at their other location, so we anxiously awaited their reopening. The food is just as impeccable, however Piccolino has lost its charm. One of the things we love most about the Piccolino before was the dimly lit dining room, one waitress, and romantic ambiance that accompanied a mouthwatering meal. While we are happy for the owners that they could expand their restaurant, everything we loved about Piccolino has been lost. There are three separate dining areas, it is very noisy, the stain glass lighting was overly bright, and we didn’t understand the carpeted floor. There is still only one waitress, who is a lovely lady, but as hard as she tried, she could not provide the attention necessary to each table. She did have plenty of help with food runners but there needs to be more than one person taking orders. With all of this said it spoke volumes that the owner/chef recognized us and came over to say hello. We wish them all of the best in their new location.

What a pleasant surprise in so many ways. Made a reservation and spoke with a lovely young lady. Once we arrived we were warmly greeted by Leonora who we spoke with at length. She seated us where we preferred and graciously chatted with us. We ordered the burrata salad appetizer(enough for two) with fresh arugula. Absolutely amazing and very fresh. Leonora explained that they source this locally and it was superb. Then came our«all-time» favorites, veal parmigiana and shrimp scampi with linguini and garlic and it didn’t disappoint. Nicely sized portions and delicious. So glad we discovered this place which is somewhat hidden behind the UPS store on the corner of the shopping center next to CVS and Fresh Market. Now we know where to go. The staff is so friendly and very attentive. We really enjoyed our meal. Difficult to find a really good restaurant nearby as we’re always comparing them to our home restaurants in Manhattan. This is definitely on par. We would have tried desserts but it was late and we couldn’t finish our meal which we took home for the next day. We definitely will be back and definitely make room for dessert.
