Janie & Jack is a really neat store with a good variety of clothing for ages 0+. Most of the clothing is very expected, very standard baby clothing. Good if you are looking for a cute, but generic outfit. I will say the service came off a bit jaded, bittersweet, or just rude. Not sure which word best sums it up, but either way its enough reason we’ll look elsewhere for baby clothes. When we visited the store my friend explained she was a first time mother and expressed that she’s nervous and has a ton to learn. As they conversation went on, the pregnant and already mother of 1 woman who worked there seemed to get more and more agitated talking to my friend. For example they got on the discussion of cribs and what to do about them, problems that arise, etc… The woman asked what kind of crib she ordered and my friend told her, the woman asked how much, and my friend told her about $ 1000. That’s where the woman became rude, telling her that was crazy, and that she could just get one at Wal-Mart for $ 150. To me THAT’S crazy. Not buying one at Wal-Mart, but rather telling a new, nervous, about to pop mother that it’s a bad thing that she had a $ 1000 crib. Especially because she didn’t buy it with her money, she was given it as a gift. Then to go on and say she should have used that money for a college fund? Parental advice is great, but telling someone things in a negative manner is another.
