This used to be our go-to Chinese food restaurant, but there has been a steady decline in the quality of their food. Tonight was definitely our last order with Canton Garden. The food was not hot when it arrived and it was almost inedible. The rice had a stale taste I can’t quite put my finger on– it kind of tasted the way moth balls smell. The honey garlic wings have been a favorite of ours, but this time they were tough and tasted like they had been sitting around for a while. The only good thing in our whole order was the steamed chicken and vegetables– which would be hard to mess up considering what it’s made up of. Who knew it could be so hard to find good Chinese food? So disappointed.

So we took in from this place last night. Everything we ate was awful. Soup had no flavor, ribs were dry and tasted old. My triple crown was just bad, asked for little spicy and had NO flavor. Called to complain, we were offered free ribs next time. There will be no next time. Two hours after eating, I became so violently ill. Can’t tell you how horrible this good poisoning was. Went to MedExpress for iv fluids and meds. Horrible experience, my husband started feeling sick today. Never ever eat there…

Not good. We were recovering from the night before and naturally we wanted Chinese Food to soak up Jack Daniela, but it was not. The chicken wasn’t cooked through, it was soggy, and lacked taste.

Great west lake duck and honey garlic chicken. Quick service when I went but it was dead that night. Better than a lot of Chinese in the area but nothing incredible

Can we do negative stars? You know I really hesitated doing a review for Canton Garden because I felt nothing good could come from it. Then I read some of the reviews and said, clearly people are still coming here to eat. That’s when I realized if I make a brutally honest review maybe I can save a few people from entering the stupidity zone. A former friend of mine wanted to come here for a quick lunch, I’m open to new things so I obliged. Now normally I don’t wish death on people, but I came very close to it that day. He is a former friend because I will never forgive him for this disaster of a lunch. Plus he has some sh*tty ass taste. All the negative stereotypes you hear about Chinese restaurants are perpetuated here. There was nothing remotely good about the place. It was depressing. The food was a combination of atrocious and tasteless. The chicken, if it really was, tasted like rubber soles. I’m almost positive those wonton noodles were recycled from previous tables. The soup was like unflavored tea and god knows what gristly meat that was in that dumpling. Also, I really hate places like these that dare call themselves authentic Chinese food and have the nerve to attempt to serve sushi too. It’s never a good marriage and if you can’t do one Asian cuisine right, what in the world makes you think you can conquer another? As a man who is all for the different flavors of the Asian world, let me say Daniel was perfectly content with the relationship he had with Kumiko in the Karate Kid II, he didn’t feel the need bring another girl from another country in the mix to only f things.

I had not been in this restaurant for nine years until last evening. Nothing has changed, still a great choice for a good dinner experience. The place is quiet, nice ambiance and always good food and lots of it. The management is very friendly and although I don’t know this for a fact, I think this is a family enterprise. They have been around for over 20 years and my hope is they stay around for many years to come. It was evident more than once last evening that old customers return and remember this comfortable Chinese comfort food restaurant. Kudos for a job well done!

I’ll NEVER set foot in that place again. Our waiter was weird, friendly but really weird. I ordered a curry dish, they gave me something yellowish. I told the waiter there was no curry in my dish, he picked up the plate smelled it and goes,“there’s curry in it.” He then put down the plate and LEFT! Never again!

Totally subpar experience. First, it’s in a horrible strip center that hasn’t been fixed up in 30 years — ouch. No décor, and a cheesy old atmosphere. Yuck. The food came out very quick — not a good sign. The chicken(General Tsao) was coated, breaded fatty chunks of(I think) dark meat. The brown sauce was a horrible, flour thickened mass of sweetness; double yuck. The fried rice was not made recently, and it was flavorless. Overall, this place ain’t good — I won’t return.

i have lived right near this place for 12 years, and forgot why i did not like this place and decided to try it again. mistake. we ordered the large size of 2 dinners; the menu stated that it was quart sized. when we received the orders, to go; what we got was less than a cup of soupy vegetables in a metal container. when we got to the car, and i checked it i went back in and said(very nicely) i think you made a mistake and gave me the small pint size order. they said no, the menu says quart, but we don’t give a quart. i asked for my $ 27.00 back, which they gave me after they hassled me a bit and said mean things about me to each other; i then went down the street to the pine garden, and placed the same order. i was given 4 times as much food at the pine garden.

I just went in for a simple quart of won-ton soup. I asked for extra crispy noodles and he asked me how many I wanted. I asked him how many it came with to which he responded 1. I was confused because typically at most restaurants you get 1 for a small and 2 or 3 for a large. He told me they only gave 1 no matter what size. So, fine, I said I wanted a total of four, to which he responded he would charge me $ 1.50. I had also asked for extra packets of mustard. He brought out my order and there were no extras. When I asked him, he asked me how many I wanted. I responded that I would like 2 more. He said I could have as many as I wanted for $.10 each! I thought maybe he was joking, but no, he was serious! I responded to him that I would prefer to have none, and to never return to his restaurant, and commented to him that perhaps if he didn’t nickel and dime people to death, perhaps his restaurant wouldn’t be empty at lunch time! Considering there is a Chinese restaurant every other block in Boca Raton, perhaps this one would value the customer a bit more. Oh, and the soup is flavorless!

I really liked this restaurant. The service is fast, the food is good(though not as big portions as other restaurants) and really reasonably priced.

I really love this place. Granted it doesn’t look the the greatest Chinese restaurant, but it tastes like the best Chinese in town. Extremely friendly and fast service. They really treat me like family.
