Magical Rice Chinese Restaurant

One of the other reviews had some negative things to say about the chicken, so I have to jump in with a comment. I was sitting in the parking lot of a favorite Chinese restaurant on 40^th Street, lamenting that they had gone out of business since my last visit. Where to eat? Unilocal pointed out Magical Rice, but there was that distasteful comment about chicken. It was late. I was hungry. I decided to take the risk. Long story short, both the moo goo gai pan and the sesame chicken were quite tasty and well prepared. I would recommend ignoring that other review.

I want a refund from some of you reviewer. Ordered online. Delivery was in the expected time frame. Good. Ok. Large portions. Good. Ok. But the chicken was not like any chicken I every had, so weird like fake meat. So I pass it off to my boyfriend not saying anything about my experience with the food. I ask him today if he wants some left overs, because it’s literally all left over. & he tells me «that chicken was fake meat.» So needless to say won’t be ordering again.

This is a local Chinese restaurant that not only has consistently great food but also has many vegetarian options that are delicious. The General Cho’s tofu is remarkable as is the pork fried rice. The chef is very accommodating and will make changes to the existing menu items. My husband doesn’t like peas and carrots in his fried rice — no problem. The owners are a lovely young couple. The only downside is the décor.

Great quality food! Always get delivery from here and it arrives in a timely manner. Love their online ordering system too!

The dining room is twenty or thirty years out of date, so I drop it a star. The limited menu is 101 American Chinese and a smattering of Thai and Singapore, but well done, and the service is excellent. The eggplant and shrimp was well done and they listen to my low oil request. It earns the four it gets.

The Unilocal reviews were very deceptive. This had been another Chinese Restaurant and the few glowing reviews persuaded me that maybe new management meant decent food. I arrived and the décor had not been touched since it changed its name, including the dirty fish tank.
I also noticed that there was only one other person eating there at 1pm. I ordered the cashew chicken luncheon special. I ordered the hot and sour soup, white rice with my dish and chop sticks. The hot and sour soup was more sweet then hot and sour but was at least served at a good temperature. The cashew chicken arrived with fried rice and not white rice and I had to ask again for the chopsticks. The sauce on the chicken was tasteless and the veggies were ok. The chicken on the other hand tasted spoiled. After a second try on the chicken I spit it out and got my bill and got out of there. The waitress offered to get me something else but I did not want to take a chance on spoiled food.
I am learning that Unilocal reviews that praise too highly should be taken with a grain of salt. Never again for Magical Rice.

The absolute worst Chinese food we’ve ever had. We were terribly disappointed and it went Into the garbage after a few bites. Living in NYC we’ve tried many and never had anything as bad as magical Rice in Boca Raton FL,
$ 50 wasted

Been eating for for 4 years now. Very consistent, quality and fresh. Fair prices, great service. Recommended.

Haven’t had Chinese this good in Florida in a long time. We had the egg roll, spring roll, pork Lomein, fried rice, shrimp in lobster sauce & ribs. All hot & delicious.

Chinese food in Fla. for the most part can be a challenge to get good quality with fresh vegetables. Looks like Magical Rice fits the bill. Some of the food they have reminds me of a New York style Chinese restaurant. They put crunchy brown noodles that you would put in your soup on the table. We all ordered a dinner combination the comes with soup, rice and optional egg roll or spring roll. My uncle ordered the shrimp with lobster which he enjoyed. My wife had the bean curd with vegetables. The white sauce it comes with was a little bland. I had the chicken with broccoli also with the same bland with sauce. All of our dinners came with a very good size potion. The bill for the 3 of us with a tip was $ 45 which is pretty good for Boca. The service was also good and friendly. I would go back to Magical Rice when I’m in town and in the mood for Chinese food.

Ordered curried shrimp and the shrimp was not real shrimp! It was a shrimp mold and tasted awful! $ 12.05 for fake shrimp! Also, the hot and sour soup was bland with no hot or sour! 1^st and last time for this place!

I ordered online while I was still at work, as soon as I got off I drove down to wait on my order (I got there a few minutes early but the wait wasn’t long at all!)
Also the cashier was nice, funny guy.
Man oh man, the food was sooo good! Magical Rice is such a fitting name for this place!
I’ll be ordering my Chinese food here from now on.
Unfortunately they don’t deliver out to Delray Beach but I have no problem making the drive up or just getting my order after work.

Ordered delivery at the office — chicken lo mein — much larger portion than another local Chinese place i tried. Also the Wonton soup was delicious! Prices are great too!

Great food, portions and service! This is our new place! We have been struggling to find some authentic Chinese food and this is super close!

after being a regular at what I considered to be the BEST in Boca our last visit Christmas very disappointing. We had a reservation for 5 and were not told there was a special holiday menu which was quite limited. Not only was the food sub par the prices were increase by 25%. If the owners goal is to build a long term brand they Failed however if their goal was to capitalize on the holiday and the abundance of snow birds they succeeded. They have losses a year round regular.

Much like some of the previous reviewers I was blown away by their vegetarian menu! It’s so nice to go somewhere that has «real» vegetarian food. I spoke with the owner at length and it was clear that she got what vegetarian and vegan means. Even if the food wasn’t great I’d go to M Rice on a regular basis to get a Chinese food fix. I’m happy to report the added bonus of terrific food! So far we’ve had two meals that were excellent and attentive, considerate service. Magical Rice is definitely on our list of go to restaurants.

Good place to grab some Chinese food for their lunch special. Prices are fairly cheap. Good quality. Would definitely come back !

I have been a strict vegetarian for 40 years. The one place I can NEVER eat is any Chinese Restaurant. Chinese people do not consider poultry to be meat so there is always chicken stock in everything. Not here! I just had the BEST vegetarian meal in my life. I am super picky too. Magical Rice’s vegetarian menu is pages long. If the dish I got tonight was that good I plan to be going through that menu. Vegetarians and vegans you have to try this place! I got the curry fake chicken. It was amazing! The new owners are fantastic and very accommodating. They bought the place one year ago.

Very gold spicy orange chicken with actual slices of orange. Highly recommended; also very affordable. Good wonton as well.

After trying several Boca and Delray Chinese restaurants found Magical Rice and what a discovery. food is outstanding, service friendly and prices are reasonable. My only concern is once Magical Rice is discovered it will be a long wait for a table so get there NOW!

I’m sick and was really craving some hot and sour soup and noodles. I went to the website but the menu tab doesn’t work… so I had to call and ask what kind of noodles they have and if they have hot and sour soup. She said yes ! We have lo mein noodles and hot and sour soup and I said great! So I ordered both in large portions. The delivery guy knocks on my door and I’m so excited to eat and then… no hot and sour soup. They gave me a large wonton. I don’t like anything other than hot and sour so I was really disappointed. Then I thought at least I have the noodles. They taste so horrible. It has like a «musty smell» but in a taste way… I can’t explain it but it takes awful. So angry. $ 20 spent for wrong and the worst Chinese food I’ve ever had. Oh, and when I called to say come back and get this because I want my money back, they didn’t answer. Great customer service.

This was just ok. Adequate, but nothing special. The inside of this place is really weird too. I don’t like in Boca but there has got to be better Chinese than this.

Amazing restaurant. The vegetarian option is perfect for me. Very friendly servers. I love this restaurant! I finally feel home in Boca :)

Excellent beef fried rice. I am a local to the area and this is by far the best fried rice I’ve ever tasted in Boca. The beef was fresh and tender. Perfectly cooked and not burned. The dish had a generous amount of beef and fresh veggies. I had the egg drop soup and was creamy and delicious. If you are in the area stop by and enjoy a great place to eat Chinese food.

Found a great take out Chinese food place– Coming from NY with high expectations for take out, let alone Chinese Food, Magical Rice Asian Cuisine Restaurant hits a home run. Having a very broad menu with all the typical and traditional dishes, the food is fresh, with ample sizes and tasty spicing, and very reasonable prices Hot and Sour soup, wanton soup, egg roles, chow mein with big pieces of shrimp, soft meaty spare ribs, delicious peanut covered chicken and general tso chicken were our favorites this night. Even the required fortune cookies were very fresh and not the typical «been on the shelf for ever «like most other experiences. Coupled with a very friendly and effecient family ownership, this is a great place for Chinese food.

I’m from out of town but this is seriously the most magical Thai I’ve had lol the miso soup was huge and I got the small order and it was actually loaded with the toppings. I had the shrimp pad Thai and it was the juiciest I’ve ever had. Tons of yummy sauce and shrimp were large. I highly recommend giving them a try! Incredibly sweet and quick staff.

The food is great! So fresh, not too salty or greasy like most Chinese food. They will make anything you want. Give them a try.
